Our teachers warned us in the beginning of the year that a lot of ppl fall into this temptation and told us to not do that. Not sure I really like that advice but I mean ofc uni wants to be top priority while you're there. But as some other comments have mentioned, good jobs on portfolio mean much more than good grades so congrats. I'm personally scared to let my grades drop but we'll see since I still have 3,5 years left.

You're out here giving me hope for a job lmao. Been applying for months now since I graduated. No luck yet. But imo I would go NYC than LA, even tho the weather is nicer in LA, but NY you could take the train to long island if you wanted and see do something over there if you get bored of all the crap in the city. From what I've heard about LA it is more or less the same as NYC just as crappy as far as crime and homeless and stuff like that go, but at least you have snow to look forward to here!
Oh and you have power consumption limits in CA for computers I think. Only in stand by mode. That's not a thing in NYC. And you can't have a car with a modified ECU in CA.

Congrats! Man this is so true though - a lot of my friends with internships/jobs in the tech giants basically spent all their time interview prepping and put class in the backseat so a lot of them graduated with a low GPA lol. I just focused on my classes and now am doing grad school in CS but I remember flunking my interviews cause I never had any time left to prep 😂 like you said you gotta sacrifice one or the other but again congrats man!

Dude I just did a technical interview for a Mechanical Engineering position and they are so much easier then these coding interviews. In all the interviews I've done where technical questions are asked, you generally only need understand basic theory and recall basic equations in order to solve the problems. In regards to your job with FB, I recommend moving to the location where COVID restrictions effect the work flow less. It's fresturating to have things change every few weeks like what has been happening at my work.

Update, the technical interview that I just did was apparently only a phone screening to see if they wanted to give me a much harder in person technical interview. I thought it was going to be a more standard follow up interview but then I spent 2.5 hours at a white board solving Fluids and Dynamics problems. Most stressful interview of my life.

Note: Don't try this at home! Doing it at the cost of fail exams is not that great when there isn't any other back up nor insurance for that.
Hence if you really want to do it and that badly, try suspending your studies...
Had encounters with my team mates cannot cope with studies ends up being a burden to the team...

I mean the experience would legit help land a job than wasting time studying and waiting to get degree it just seems more faster way to land job and guarantee to some extent too.

@@sagarshrestha2358 Yes if you know what you are doing... Just that there are people who just naive and purely thinks if this youtuber can do it why not us as well? Hence do hope them have 2nd mind and cool headed judgement before pursing this path
