This "flop" video shows you how I attempted to get melted gum and stain out of shorts that went through the washing machine. I definitely removed the sticky gum, but a separate dark stain appeared, not sure why. Never mix chemicals, always test first, and wear gloves! Anyway - hope this helps...somewhat at least.

If your a regular gum user. My handy tip here. Keep small piece of foil in pocket to wrap gum in.

Shout helps with stains. I just washed a half pack of gum but caught it before I threw it all in the dryer. Found all the gum I could and used shout and a sponge to scrape off residue. It’s on another wash cycle before I go to the dryer with it. Definitely a duh moment.

Two ways to remove gum....
1. throw the whole thing into the freezer. Freeze to 3 degrees F. Easy to remove frozen gum.
2. 91% rubbing alcohol. This breaks down the gum polymers. Doesn't harm fabric.
