Brian, it was so great to get to meet you! You did great with the amount of time you had at the show. I grew up collecting and falling in love with baseball in the same era you did. I appreciate that you still close to your guns and give that era the appreciation it deserves. Keep collecting what you love! Thank you for the sweet Maddux BC refractor!
Brian, what an honor to meet you and hang out with you at the CZcams gathering! I do hope it is the first of many meetings to come! Thank you for your friendship and for a great buy on a couple of awesome Griffey 90's refractors, my collecting brother! 😊👊P.S. Congrats on your glorious 2004 Topps Chrome Maddux refractor pickups! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks, Adam! It was absolutely an honor to meet you too!! I enjoyed meeting you and seeing your pickups as well!! You have an amazing eye for picking out low grade vintage with tremendous eye appeal! I am honored to call you a friend!
It was great to meet you and talk at the hangout! Some great pickups for sure! That White Hots is amazing. I love 2004 Topps and those Maddux are awesome!! Congrats on everything
Thanks! It was awesome getting to talk with you too! It’s always nice to find others who appreciate Maddux! Plus, whenever duplicates come my way, I’ll know someone who may be interested!
It was SO great to enjoy the National with you this year. Even though you didn’t find much in your wheelhouse, as you said its really about being a part of this great cardmunity! Cheers! 🍻
Glad to hear you had a good time! For 80s and 90s collectors, non-Ken Griffey Jr., there really isn't much at shows. That being said, it is also more liberating since you can just people watch and wonder aimlessly. Then, every once and a while, you find a super awesome Maddux without even intending to find it. Also, my completely bias opinion, the Chicago (Rosemont) location is the best place for the National.
That’s a great observation! Yes, most tables that had significant 90s stuff were almost all Griffey and Jeter. I guess that also makes sense as showcase space is limited so they want to put out the most popular, highest value guys. I was going at a pretty quick pace around the show - one day probably would have been enough for me.
Had a great time meeting and chatting with you for a bit. I’m glad you like the stands and really appreciate the support. Those Griffey cards are absolute fire! Really nice grouping of cards both pre show as well as during.
Thanks, Drew! It was absolutely great meeting and talking with you in person! It was a crazy whirlwind evening! I absolutely LOVE the stands, and I’m pumped that they fit BGS slabs so well too! When I put out my next installment of Diamond King autos showcase, they will be featured! Yes, those Griffey’s are definitely in my small “top 10 Griffey cards” collection! Thanks for the kind words!
Nice 1995 Griffey Refractor, his pants are usually the give away for hulking or discoloration on that card both base and refractor version - and damn those printlines lol
Yes! I am VERY pleased with my copy - his pants are hulk-splotch-free! There IS a semi-prominent refractor line and the vertical centering is a little off, but hey, SOMETHING had to make this into an 8! 😂😂😂
YES! I love them both! Now, if only I could make an actual window of my place into that design… 😂😂😂 It also seems a shame to keep those tucked away in a binder when they should be displayed with plenty of natural light coming in from the back. I’ll figure out something regarding displaying those beauties!
Oh I LOVE that set! Now I have all six mirrors! (I’m not counting the certified gold team mirror /25) Forget the 96 Select Certified set though… I would call those “unrealistic” pickups 😂.
And of course I forgot that I met / spoke with Billy Ballgame, Average Braves Fan, and probably a few others too!

AHHH I knew I forgot more people!! YES, Joe! Great to meet you in person finally!! Nothing better than that 90s SHINE 😂😍😍

So many awesome cards. Thumbs up and bell hit.
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the pickups! I enjoyed them too! 🤩😂
Come on Brian the Braves hat ? lol Al he needs your Pirates hat lol . Great episode like always !
Think of it more like a “Brothers’ Duo” hat than a “Braves” hat! 😅😅😅

Thanks, Orlando! It was great to see you in person!
You found some beauties. I love the Gallery of Heroes cards.

Great to see some 1997 Pinnacle Certified love. Nice realistic pickups for a realistic collection.

1997 Pinnacle Certified and especially Totally Certified sets are epic - just snagged a Griffey Platinum Gold /30
OOOH BABY! I’m still looking for that Maddux Platinum Gold… if you happen to ever see one.
