Great review as always. This technology appears to have more kinks worked out and make it easier to detect models of small to larger models. But it shows they are headed in the right direction. Thanks Ricky for sharing.
Great scanner review! Thank you!
Very nice review, keep it up man 👌
Thank you for the review! They seem to be specialized for either small or large objects, so just one machine won't cut it.
Nice to see than cheaper options will work better for my needs.
Very thorough - great vid 👌
... Do you have an idea on the best budget 3d scanner currently available?
I also a certified GD&T asme technologist so I am fairly confident in models
OMG me wee brain is in a spin BUT great presentation !!!
About scanning that fin. In box they give us standard markers. Far to large for mini's application. But the scanner isn't picky. Any white dot on black background will do. Also, you can use physical markers for feature tracking. Just place some random shapes around the fin. In essence make it a larger object with more features and then just cut the fin out. Still it will probably be just good as reference in CAD.
Dry shampoo is great to help the scanner see those hard to see surfaces. It leaves a white residue which you can wash off after.
Thanks for the tip!
I am struggling now with my printer it is an ender 3 neo with direct drive and a dryer box. I am also using nx 12 full license to design my models and I am struggling wit clogged printer heads
Thanks for this. Unfortunately way to expensive for me.
cool, very cool. but what about human faces and larger life sized objects or people?
He covers that in the video.
doesn't work I have one and is bad for human face
As I know the mini doesn't have RGB camera but in the video there is an RGB camera!!
Ita does have RGB. You can scan full color with it
@@matiasnruffa Yeah, I was wrong. In the first prototypes that they send to some CZcamsrs to review there was no RGB camera but they added RGB camera in the products they sold.
Expensive sprays or athletes foot powder or dry shampoo
borrowed this scanner from a friend and its pretty awful. Its it image based only? no lidar? Thats what it seems like
