Check out the live at Wacken version of The Mourning Palace. Classic Dimmu. Hellhammer is the drummer from Mayhem/Arcturus/Winds, but was with Dimmu for a couple years. Greatest drummer of all time.

Dimmu Borgir have sooo awesome older songs, example Mourning Palace (live version from Forces of the Northern Night) or Kings of the Carnival Creation (live at Ozzfest 2004). 🖤 So, would be nice to see reaction video also of those. Dimmu Borgir have had amazing live-shows, I did see them finally at Tuska Open Air 2019 even have listened their music since when I was teenager.
And have to say, it's so nice that you talk about music more than just was it good or bad song. Also those your experiences have been interesting to hear. But well, so it is, never can talk too much about music. 🤘🏻

The guest singer is Agnete from the band Djerv. She also sang the theme song "Get Jinxed" for League of Legends.
Her own band is pretty damn good too. Power Ballad, Rock, Metal and more, very varied with her doing all sorts of vocals. She's damn good.
Oh Hellhammer is legendary! Plays in Mayhem (+100 other projects), and played actually for Dimmu Borgir for a few years a while back. Had the pleasure to see DB in 2007 with hellhammer behind the battery. The show was both brutal and beautiful 😈

Hellhammer is the drummer from Mayhem, but actually he have participated in albums from almost every Norwegian black metal band that I remember 😅
Hellhammer did the drums for their 2007 album "In Sorte Diaboli". Dimmu Borgir's song "The Chosen Legacy" showcases his skills to the extreme. Their current drummer is "Daray". Oh and this show actually aired on Norwegian tv, so yes, expensive.
As much as i like the style of Hellhammer (especially on the "Chimera" album of Mayhem) but the prime of Dimmu Borgir hands down was with Nicholas Barker. Sad there isn't much live footage of DB + Barker out there.

Their older stuff is more crushing and black, but I like it all, especially the album Enthrone Darkness Triumphant.
Also, live recordings with their former 6'8" bass player ICS Vortex doing clean vocals like nobody else can do.

They are generally classed as Symphonic Black Metal. Performing with orchestra and choir was a one-off thing with two performances they did that year in Oslo and Wacken. This footage is from the Oslo show and I can happily say I was there :D The female singer Agnete Kjølsrud is not part of the band but she was part of this song so she was there to perform it live for this tour as well.

Nicolas Cage's son did indeed have a few dealings with extreme metal. Most notable is Eyes of Noctum, a now defunct band that is very similar to Dimmu Borgir in style, you can almost say it's a knock-off.

As cool as it is that Dimmu has the woman with them for this song (I forget her name, sorry), and the live orchestra, they had better songs in the past. I highly recommend "Eradication Instincts Defined", "Kings of the Carnival Creation", and "Hybrid Stigmata - The Apostasy" by them. Lots of violins, sharp guitars, intense drumming, some badass vocal effects, majestic atmosphere, and godly clean singing from the ex-bassist "Vortex". Thank you for reacting to Dimmu regardless, they've been my favourite band for 12 years, and now Nightwish is on par with them for me.

I knew Dimmu Borgir by name and never gave them a chance (or maybe the opportunity). For me I just thought they were another Norwegian Black Metal band. On a vacation to Norway in 2012 I turned on the TV at the Hotel room, and this was what I saw. This performance! For me that was the perfect metal. The combination of orchestra, choir, metal band, male and female vocals. Actually I still think the entire Abrahadabra album is the ultimate Metal album. Metallica S&M sucks. Abrahadabra was written for this setup. And I'm not a big fan of any bands. I like some of Dimmus albums, but absolutely not all. Fellow Norwegian Black Metal band Satyicon also made a concert with choir. It's okay, some good songs there also 😁
Dimmu Borgir is awesome - he's also a guest artist (growler) in on of Kamelot's songs: March of mephisto :D The lead singer, Roy Khan is from my country - Norway :) If I'm not mistaken, the lady in the musicvideo is his wife :) Worth checking out the song (many of the band's songs)

You should check "Fleshgod Apocalypse". They are an italian symphonic death metal band.

@@PowerfulReactions Francesco Paoli is amazing. He was the former singer and guitarist of the group. He learned drums in 3 years after changes in the band. You can see the result in "The Violation". He is back on vocals and guitar since last album but still records drums.

There are other vocalists that have a similar vocal style to Shagrath. Adrienne Cowan from Seven Spires (and a bunch of other bands/projects) have pretty much copied his style for her growled vocals (but she can also sound like a disney princess when she feels like it, and that's a combination of vocal styles not a lot of vocalists can do well).

but he is also the drummer from mayhem and several other bands, he is a great drummer dont think he plays with dimmu now but he still plays with mayhem a band with a realy big history within the norwegian black metal scene.
yes back in 2008 Christina Fulton was engaged to Shagrath ( singer). Dont think she was married to cage but they have a son together. cage was innvited to the wedding that was supposed to take place at preikestolen in norway but got posponed. dont know if they are together now. Got qurius when u mentioned it so i checked the fact :)
the son, Weston Coppola Cage, plays in Eyes Of Nocturn and was an opening act for dimmu borgir in california 1 time long ago :P
