I threaded a hole for a large bolt on the bottom side of the receiver at the back end of the ball mount so it could be tightened up to stop the clunking noise.

Bob, the only thing I don't like about that is the tape can melt and cause a heck of a mess when removing. I have the triple ball hitch because I change the size a lot !!
I went to Harbor Freight Tools & got me a $13, HAUL-MASTER Anti-Rattle Hitch Tightener, because of the rattle. It works great on my anti-sway hitch, while towing my 4,000 Lb. Toy Hauler RV.
That was honest for a review. I was worried that the two pins coming out the side were the only thing keeping it in your draw bar on the frame of the truck. I’m glad it didn’t fit.
this reminds me of a brace i purchased off the big A ..I have tennis and golfers' elbow the instructions in description read measure your arm certain areas (above & below elbow ) i ordered my size well the thing came and felt tighter than a torniquete the company emailed me several times begging me to remove my review even offered my way more money then what i paid for brace i did not reply to company and yes was a POS MADE IN CHINA ITEM . i noticed prior to purchasing brace had excellent reviews then after bit i saw some negative reviews then miraculously all negative reviews disappeared .. part of the ploys in this companies' email was "we are a small business one negative review hurts us etc " good to see you paw paw !

@@DoingItCheap An inner-sleeve for the reciever, or an outer sleeve for the hitch. Hell, it can even be two pieces of split square stock. Drill a few holes in it so it stays secure in the reciever with the hitch pin.

Gotta love cheap china made crap just bought a siphon pump for doing oil changes on small engines needless to say the pos is going back to tractor supply.

Do you have to loosen the nuts to change out the hitch?

Be glad it didn’t fit. Because as soon as you lose the key then what do you do? It’s stuck in there forever. You can’t cut the pin to remove it.

Your receiver is rated for more then 4500 pounds so there for the hole is further back.
And their POS says it is rated for 7500 pounds.
