that was a great video! fun and informative....can't ask for much more........
Thank you Sir
@@FishinNStuff how did you go about getting these metals? Seems hard to find unless you go online.
@@Oh_Its_Jo it's a little hard to find . I got the idea because in the gun world they are casting bullets from it
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your videos. I am a low budget fisherman who now has cool stuff I MADE, that is still low budget, thanks to you. I love your channel and so does my wallet!!!
I really appreciate you watching brother
I really like your no-roll sinker mold. Awesome!
I like the way you admit to not knowing everything in the whole wide world. Some other CZcamsrs think they do.
Heck no ive made videos that failed so bad i didn't even bother to edit them lmbo . If you never fail then you've never left your comfort zone
@@FishinNStuff True.
Old railroad spikes are good and heavy 😊 maybe an experiment for another day!
And dont forget good ole spark plugs....
Great job explaining the difference in the sinker metals,👍
Great idea. Good comparison test, this is giving me ideas. Thanks for showing this.
Well Sir, I just spent the last couple hours watching your videos! Thank you for all the awesome ideas and tips! This is probably the most useful channel I’ve found for me!
Thank you brother , im working on a few good ones
Been saving alot of money ever since I found your channel. The missus let's me fish more now that I'm not spending much anymore. hahahaha
Heck yeah lol
@@FishinNStuff I have several molds to choose from. 😎👍
Sorry did you just say 'let's you'......
Lol
Mine begs me to go so that I don't burn down the house trying to make sinkers....
First time I've seen your video's and it's not only educational but you make it funny too!
Use a kitchen match light and soot the inside of your mold till black the mold will then release lead effortlessly ! Plus lay mold across melting pot to preheat prior to pouring
Another awesome video. My son loves watching and has a to do list. We've been having a blast with our DIY's. Keep up the great work.
Thank you Sir , tell your Son I said Stick Around 😆
Glad you done all the testing saved us all a bit time chears
👍👍👍😜🏴🦄🎣😁🤞✌️
I always enjoy watching your videos, Brother! Keep them coming! God Bless!
Thank you Sir
Man that solder one was pretty. Thi was an awesome test. Thanks for sharing.
Just wanted to say keep the great videos going!! May you always have Tight lines!
Pretty cool experiment, thanks for the knowledge and tips 👍
That lead fee solder one looks awesome LOL Happy Fishing buddy!
Very good video. Lots of good information!
I will, “ STICK AROUND!” for more!
Lol thank you
Great video. You can always use an old muffin pan for an ingot mold. I typically process all my wheel weights and scrap lead into ingots in the muffin pan. It makes storing your lead easier.
Great idea
whenever i go somewhere where lead isnt alowed, i pour some sinkers with bismuth its my go to. the best part about it is when the leftover bismuth cooling (if you do it right) it forms beautiful crystals that you can sell to buy more
Didn't known you were into HEAVY METAL! Lol!
Great video, as usual, and super informative. Thanks!
I am not a DIY guy, but I have started watching your videos. Good stuff. While I will never do this one, I make my own rod holders, and watched your PVC video the other day, gave me a new idea. Thanks. Forgot to comment on that one.
I appreciate it , this video I got the idea because people are making bismuth bullets now and I thought it was interesting
Brother you are the Jack of all Trades keep up 👍🥃🍺❤️🇺🇸✝️
It is indeed a Excellent content!!! I have never seen before!!!
And as as always thanks for the video. TA DAY.
Loving this channel. Like that "good old boy" twang! Sure gets my creative mind going!
Thank you Sir
That is awesome, katfish n stuff!!!
Another great video!!! Thanks for sharing w us!! Let’s go fishin!!!!!!w
Thanks for the video and mentioning safety precautions when melting lead. I used to teach respirator safety and people need to make sure the mask they use is good for metal vapors. A fan pulling air away from the table top you're working on is an excellent recommendation like you said. I'll try using biz-muth for my sinkers and go for making split shots that wild ducks I love to cook up could easily eat.
What kind of a person would vote a Thumbs down on such a fun and informative video. I've got a dollar says he or she votes thumbs down on most "it" watches. I vote five stars, thumbs up.
I can say you got better at hitting the hole by the end of the video. Practice make perfect. Great video like usual.
The lip on the pot is so fat it threw me off lol
Great video. Glad I hit that notification bell 👍🏻👍🏻
I like this test, very nice info to know.
Pretty cool stuff. I like your DIY's.
Thank you Sir
Cool fishin hacks! thanks.
Bismuth would certainly be my choice for a lead free weight. Thanks for another awesome and informative video. There hasn’t been a video from Fishin N Stuff that I haven’t enjoyed.
Thank you very much
i have to say it's the first time i see this channel and i like it so i was looking to see more and by the way i like the 10 rules to make CZcams easier and it was fery funny now i'm already in the other channel it's good too
Love this dude. Fun and informative
Thank you Sir
My grandfather used drill into small river stones and put in a small eye bolt then glue it in place with some kind of really strong glue , that's what he used for sinkers
I've seen that , I was going to make a video about it . But I haven't got around too it yet
Good video.
I've been trying to melt my bank sinkers into triangle sinkers.
Band sinkers don't work very good on the North Carolina coast!
Just found my alternative!
Thanks
Saves a lot for me. Thanks
I'm definitely going to have to do that
👍🖖Enjoyed it! No pvc jokes this time.
Lol I love this guy.love the Star Wars parts
Can't get enough of these videos you should do a cheap diy mold without using resin and silicone
Plaster ?
@@FishinNStuff yea something like that you should do a video on it too
When I seen your channel I said to myself, take a look . But once I heard your voice , I started laughing hard !! So I subscribed and You're awesome as you would say .
Haha thank you buddy, laughter is the best medicine 💊
Bis muth is lighter than most metals but if you want a sinker material that is also cheap use copper. I collect old household wire from scrap bins and electrical shops and strip the plastic off . Melt the copper (wear a respiratory) down and pour into molds. Makes a great down rigging ball for salmon fishing. Cat wire from communication cables are best , they are nice thin wires that are easier to melt...👍 👍 🇨🇦
Wow, I had no idea you could do all that. I learn somethin every single video you put out. Im giTtin kInDa smaRteR er 😁 thanks for the info brother!!
You plenty Smart brother
Loved the Vader cameos
Very very helpful you just gave me an idea, will let you know soon thanks a lot.
Please do!
For a easy ingot mold go to the dollar store and buy a small loaf pan. I got one that was about 1.5 inches by 4 inches at a dollar store here in Wisconsin.
Great video like always. I just started casting my own sinkers. You can smoke the molds with a burning candle. Helps the sinkers not stick.
Great video !! Very interesting for weight fluctuations with the different "lead free" solutions. BUT !! BE CAREFULL guys ! Bismuth is toxic, and the toxicity of the vapors when you melt it are functionaly similar to mercure... Anyway, bismuth is way less toxic than lead, but you should be well inspired to keep wearring your "respirator" during the whole casting process. Take care guys ! GBY all :)
Thank you for turning the close caption on
Im late watching. Great video Keith. I have a milk crate of pure lead . if I ever run out I might try the pepto bismol stuff. Great video of some alternative metals to use. Thanks for sharing and see you on the next build
Yes Sir , I use lead too
Noticed your Hot Pot was a Palmer product also!!! You are something else!!!
Lol thank you , yeah I try and have fun doing it . That's cool that company is still making that stuff
I love this channel
Since I found ya, I'm going back to watch your old videos. That's just what I do when I find a GREAT VLOG I want to follow!! What state are you in? Not mental state, I got that figured out. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tin can make some good jig heads and lures too. It stays shiny, unlike lead, and so you can often get away without painting it. And the lower density can sometimes be a benefit, as your baits/lures sink more slowly even when using the same weight.
Very interesting . I have a lot of wheel weights already melted down just need to make a mold or buy one .
Make sure the weights are not made with zinc.
I am definitely going to wear my respirator .
Lmbo
Been fishin forever. I’ve always used a raindrop weight made from aluminum, but great video
Thank you Sir
Really enjoy watching you create stuff. Just wondering if anybody else noticed that your lead pot is the same brand as the antique mold that you showed us at the beginning. Amazing to think they are still in business after all this time.
I didn't even notice it , that's cool man
Bismuth with a little tin mixed in would probably be pretty good.
Great show mate laughed my arse of 😆😆
Awesome!!!! Thank you so much!!
Awesome video buddy
I use non toxic cement and im done in five minutes. more time fishing less time playing. thanks for the video.
This is a very interesting experiment Sir😁😁😁😁 Wow buddy I remember when you were just a small Channel, now look at you 82.8 K Subs👍👍😮😮
Hey Fredo I appreciate it buddy
I wasn't going to wear a respirator, but Darth Vader convinced me! Great content, Sir.
Lol yeah he's scary lol . Thank you brother
I've seen a video with a guy making weights out of river stones. He drilled a hole and epoxied the eyelet in place. Good for those suspicious carp.
I've seen that too
If you add four spikes from wire coat hangers to the drill bit mold with the eye. You just make the spider sinker for surf fishing.
Great information!!!
Thank you Sir
Paint the inside of your molds with liquid paper, they should release better. It works on Forged In Fire.
Graphite from pencils will do the trick too.
By making these sinkers flat like you do they will really hug the bottom great idea
Great video! A follow up video about the cost of each material will be great! It would be nice to know which 1 is the most cost effective substitute for lead. Really enjoyed it. God bless!
Of course none of them are as cheap and as easy to find than lead . But honestly I after making the video I noticed that zinc is cheaper than the tin which was the cheapest
Good stuff
I was laughing at the failed experiment with the BB’s, wife’s asking what I’m laughing at? Lol she didn’t understand the funny part. Interesting video!
Lmbo
Very interesting and informative video these would work great for catfish fishing.
I agree
@@FishinNStuff I remember when I first met you at catfish conference and now passed me on subscribers I'm so happy for you. Keep the videos coming
Thank you Sir
@@FishinNStuff wish my channel would do the same.....
When I was a kid we used to use the old tobacco bags for weights 4 weights you fill him up with sand and if they get caught in the rocks you'd be able to break the loose but they've work good for fishing in the Bay
Very nice bro
Got to get down to the nitty griddy awesome video
Thank you Sir
Thank you. Subbed!
Hello I’m a huge fan of the channel
Thank you Sir
Great video!!
Thank you Sir
@10:50 "it's almost worth using bismuth just so you don't have to use a respirator" BAAAAHAHAHA!! That is the quote of 2020 right there!! lol
You got that right buddy im over wearing masks 😆
I have used a tablespoon for a mold when pouring sinkers. Place swivel for an attachment point to line when fishing running water to free a stuck hook.
Great DIY video. I'm got to see if I can find some Bismuth.
I bought it on Amazon . If you find Some cheaper let me know
Amazon and/or Rotometals.com, 8.99 a pound on Roto but free shipping on amazon. Unique Metals is selling 8 pounds of rotometal bismuth for 63.99 free ship, 3 left right now on amazon
Nice mold
Thank you
When you watch this video to find alternative lead free fishing sinker but get a whole science course instead. Ah yes Science and Fishing do go hand in hand.
Second 130 lead free sinker (s) had sone gold from in it from what I saw, Ag. Also using an old electric skillet to pre heat the molds.
Thanks buddy 🇨🇦👍
I used to bite my lead split shot sinkers onto the my line like a lazy idiot. Bismul rules! Thank you!
Don’t feel lonely I used to do my self 👍
@@eugenejohnson8635 Hahah I still do....
...'still do... oh well
I've done it every time I use split shot and still do who needs pliers to close them if u do your a pussy
Great video I’ve been using bismuth for a while now for that same reason there are some places here we can’t use lead good alternative I feel the only thing is that you didn’t mention is that the bismuth is a little on the brittle side
Keep up the good work
It is a little bittle but after I made it in to a sinker I never noticed . I should have mentioned it though because it width work well for splittshots they'd just break when you closed em lol
Gonna watch this sanker vid also.
John
You can use zinc from the tire weighs they use would get 5 gal bucket from tire stores and melt it down usually got about 15 lbs from it then you would have the regular wheel weights then there was the iron weights. I cast sinkers with zinc and the wheel weights I use for bullets.
I've been saving up the lead free weights from the cast nets I can't repair. They're basically plastic coated barrel sinkers.
Plus it's metal inside the plastic coating.
Man, I'd hate to see this guy next to a toilet! Haha jk 😂
The videos keep getting better and better. Definitely one of my all time favorite youtube channels! I don't know how you keep coming up with all these diy ideas, but keep it up, brutha!
Lmbo
very good
I appreciate that
