lbp 3 wasn't really tho, it launched in an unplayable state, crashed like once every level on ps4 and multiplayer was impossible to get into

Completed the game but couldn't get 3 stars in one level, it was that one with every bot was riding bees
This is what happens to developers that actually love their games and community but Lbp held strong stronger then a vast majority it held together for us by us, until the bitter sweet end when the orb of dreamers no longer had the dreams but memories in place

LBP was my first game I had ever played, back when I was literally 4 years old. And I've grown up with it for about 14 years now. It's helped me become the person I am today, to think creatively and want to build experiences for others to enjoy. So seeing this finally happen is just . . . depressing . . .

I'm actually so depressed about this because right before the servers went down, my little sister kept bugging me to play with her, and I always told her I was busy. bruh, the game was free multiple times on ps plus, the game had a permanent price cut to $20, the digital version went on christmas sale multiple times. i dont know what you were waiting for but 10 years is too damn long.

Little Big Planet was one of my favorite games of all time growing Up. I'm really sad and bummed out to hear about this.
But I will say this though: I am very happy with all the memories that I have created with this Legendary video game franchise 😎
Gonna find it hard to finish this video because for a few years LBP (especially 2) was my favourite thing. Not just game, but thing. I made such good friends, built things I was so proud of, made my first music which I am still yet to feel I've surpassed on Ableton and other DAWs today. LBP was so special, the sense of community, the unparalleled creative tools, everything about it. I'd give anything to go back to the heyday of LBP2.
LBP2 was literally my entire childhood. i cannot explain how many hours i put into creating and playing with friends. it just sucks man. the newer devs kinda just don't care and it kinda shows

I'll never forget pulling all nighters playing with my older and younger brother, doing bomb survivals, "The Worlds Fastest Sackboy", shark survivals, any and everything that was at the time. We grew up some more, so when LBP2 came out, it was mainly me that kept playing the series. LBP3 came out and just never felt "right" to me. Didn't have as much of a history with 3 than I did with my entire journey with LBP1 and 2. This kills me to see as someone in their mid 20s :(

As someone who grew up with lbp, i hate the fact that a part of my childhood is gone forever. The memories of playing the game with my brother and making silly costumes and playing with random people will always be there in my brain. And i also hate the fact that some of the levels i grew up playing are lost media now, like sacboy on cheese, littlebigcity, horror levels, etc.
Yeah im ngl. Im 23 and i balled out in tears, man. Ive played this with my siblings all the time growing up. I need a hug. It was so mind blowing the limitations on technology we had. And LBP along with MGS4 when i was just 9 years old BLEW ME AWAY. it was my first time ever hearing and seeing such creativity from either games.. it was balance. It was bliss. I wish i could go back in time. To relive those memories as if it was my very first time all over again when my mother bought the house our very first ps3. I love this community with all my heart. God bless our Little Big Planet 🫵💪🤝

I remember playing the first game when I was little, for a bit after school. Once the 2nd part came out, I played the campaign and it was good but unfortunately, I didn't have much of a connection with it. 3 is definitely where I held the most memories despite its downsides.
It's just so unfortunate that an entire base of community content is inaccessible. At least private server's still exist to keep the flame alive. 😢

It truly is the end of an era. The last echoes of a game dying out after the ps3 and psvita servers shut down. When my parents sold the family ps3 (it wasn’t used much) I refused to let go of LBP2, hid it under my pillow when someone came to buy the console. It was just such a huge part of my childhood, I’m so lucky to have played it.
Some of my fondest memories around videogames are of playing LBP2 at sleepovers, joining random people’s pods to slap them or fill their screen after I completely covered my avatar in giant crystals or something… great times. I’m simply sad I never got one last chance to play “be a giant and destroy a city”, which was my favorite community level to play. I always used the rainbow skin with sunglasses.
It’s funny but I never actually beat the game until like a week before the family ps3 was sold. Negativatron was always an insurmountable obstacle, I could never even get past the first phase of his final bossfight as a kid. But now as an adult, revisiting it, I was able to get it second try. I cried because I found out that day the servers were already gone and that was upsetting, but also out of happiness because I felt like I was little again and almost like I was playing the game for the first time again.
I just want to say thank you to everyone behind little big planet. These games have meant so much more to me than words can describe.

I cannot express how many memories I had with this game. The amount of times I would wake up early in the morning, go straight to Angry Birds Bomb Survival and Shark Survival. It was truly an unforgettable experience that I’m so glad to be part of. Im so happy to read all these comments and have a connection with yall with this game. God bless yall!
I wonder if LBP Fans would have to get into PS3 Emulation and Sackboy's Big Adventure is now on PC via Steam and there's Mod Support on there

Just found out about this, what a bummer. These games were my whole childhood, I’m 22 now. I hopped on every year or so to check out LBP3’s wellbeing. I’ll miss binging LBP2 every day after school.
You know. I’ve played a lot of different games in my childhood. Minecraft and Lbp being the most prominent, but Lbp really stuck with me the most. I’ve never learned how to make proper levels but I always loved searching for new levels to play. Whenever i get into any other games, movies, and Tv shows, I would go onto the game and look for costumes. Heck, just last week i made some cosplay skins from a different game on lbp so that I could use them when the servers came back on. But atlas, they didn’t. I’ll always be thankful i got to experience a unique and wonderful game and I’ll always miss Sackboy, Oddsock, Toggle, and Swoop. I thank this game for teaching us to be creative

Sad news.
I seriously had hope they would return. I know it’s 99.999% copium, but every bit of hope was good. It’s… sad seeing part of my childhood just go. If this magical PS5 Controller on their website doesn’t mean new LBP… well, I can do nothing anyway, but it’s last bit of copium left with me moving forward.
Long comment, but a lot of emotions, it is needed. I’m not ending it yet, I got to write it all down. LBP 1 and 2 were my favourite, each having own pros. LBP 3 was little worse for me, not enough sackboy centered around sackboy, all thanks to those 3 baboons which were added. But lore wise? THEY WERE AMAZING :D memories will be with me forever, even if I’m not exactly able to share all the levels I lived with my friends anymore. I’m just happy and proud I could be part of community, myself creating level which had SOME popularity (any is better than none :Ꭰ )

Thank You gardens, cool Japanese location, this scary Indian location, The Collector hideout, DaVinci and his wisdom, Victoria and her cakes, Factory of Better Tommorow and it’s turkey(?), *~Avalon Centrifuge~*, Negativitron, all the sackbots, Laboratory and Victoria parts of LBP Vita, every bit of just being sackboy in LBP 3 that didn’t requested changing into other heroes. And for adventures it all brought and allowed.
Thank You and my siblings for all memories made here, looking now at how old this franchise actually is shows how long it was in my life. All shark, whale, survival, Jeff, bomb, parkour, music, barely working ones, jump, disaster, this one vacation map, this one roller coaster map, singing sackbots, mortal combat, movies, meme levels, train survivals, costumes, wolf rpg, smartphone minigames level, all the war levels and many more I just don’t remember right now.

A month before this happened (servers shutting down for " research"). I booted up LBP3 for a little nostalgia trip with my sister, we replayed things such as angry birds bomb survival, angry whale (attack?)
And all the other shark attacks as well as the levels we have made like 10 years ago spending countless hours designing models, writing dialoges, and learning how to make working mashines. No other game will ever give me better time than LBP. It wasnt just a game; it was a virtual playground in which i made memories and friends. So thank you LBP thank you for my childhood❤

This hurts to see, especially since Ive been playing these games since I was 2-3, this game has been in my memory literally and scientifically since I could remember, I knew this game probably as far back before I even knew my parents names. And since I haven't played the games for so long, it feels like going back to see a family member i knew my whole life, only for me to be back in their dying moments, realizing there is nothing I can do to change their fate. Now, I am a 14 almost 15 years old, about to go into my sophomore year of high school, it hard to see something that I knew of before i even knew school existed, fade into fate.

I will never forget my memories of playing LBP 1 and 2, as well as Karting. I never got to experience LBP3 because my copy didn't even work the day I got it (and it was on Christmas day too lol).
To see such a big IP from Sony get disrespected like this is heart-breaking, and while I hear Sackboy and Big Adventure is pretty great, it's just not the same without that personal creativity aspect that makes the core of what LBP inspires in us.
Here's hoping Restitched can bring back that senseless blissful joy of just messing around and creating things in the level editor.

We never really got the hang of making our own levels, but we always loved playing user created horror levels in the game. Really sad we will never be able to play again, but nothing lasts forever. Damn, i never really got to experience little big planet due to the fact i was born in 2011 and didnt learn english untilt like 2022 (im from eastern europe) and by then i missed lots of things like club penguin, and welp this... i must say im sad i will never get to experience this but... i got the things of my generation and one day the future generation will long for them too... welp im getting too philosophical, what i mean to say is everything has to come to an end, and while some people miss out on those things, there are people who where there during its creation life and death, and while that is sad, we must remeber that new things do come and maybe, just maybe, those things will try to replicate the feelings of the long gone things or are inspired by them, and while some miss the mark there are some which do it perfectly, what im saying is... when theres death there is also life that is the balance of the universe.

I will miss this game I first played it in 2016 with my little brother. I loved the game. these past few years I barely played it just didn't feel the same. I still regret not playing it as much. I did try to play a few times recently but obviously I couldn't. This is the end but hopefully also a new beginning.
My first experience with going online as a whole, my first friends, my favourite game of all time growing up, and ultimately THE cornerstone of my childhood. And now all of it has gone.
May our dear beloved rest in all of its glory, may we all remember it for what it did for us growing up back then, and may it’s example inspire future games to give us an online experience like LBP did to all the kids growing up now that will never know of this legendary series.

And the fact that media molecule is this close to being shut down makes my heart pump like crazy!
I understand them trying to make new games and not wanting Littlebigplanet to be their main image, but at this point I don't think they have any other choice.
Just look at how Dreams ended up, they tried making a new game and it failed miserably. I don't think they should take any more risks of making a new game.

The icandy levels that showed how beautiful and aesthetic you could make a level if you put your mind to it. The horror levels that made my heart pound like a drum. The adventures I shared with Sackboy, Oddsock, Toggle, Swoop, and many different characters all created by different people. The puzzles I solved, the hangout places I would use to talk to others, the dishes I cooked and served, the games which I would compete with others, the journeys we all took.
Goodbye LittleBigPlanet, you gave us the world and ability to share our wildest dreams to each other. And may someday, those dreams will find another time to shine again.
