Kemp Thomson - Thank you. Very much appreciated.
Sir plz I send you.i will pay pay you very important plz
Excellent, concise video. The WEN manual was useless! This five minute video gave me everything I needed to get the pin-less blade working on my WEN within about 2 minutes. Thanks Tim. It's maybe not the easiest device to change blades on ... but it's a $80 scroll saw!! I suspect the fancy ones that cost 5-10 times as much probably have superior methods :) I'm gonna see what I can do to 3-d print a replacement for the bottom bracket. I think we can do a lot better ;)
Thanks for your video I've just bought a Draper Fretsaw and blade clamps, The clamps and set up are the exact same and you just made my life very simple with your video. Many Thanks and new Subscriber.
So helpful! Thank you!
Nice video. Very informative.
I wish I had seen this earlier. The manual is definitely a PITA.
Very helpful!
Thank you!
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
Great video, thanks. I wonder if there is a modification so when you have to make inside cuts and release the top clamp the bottom doesn't come off. That is a real pain. For now I use a clamp to hold the blade from coming off of the bottom.
I've been debating buying a cheap scroll saw to decide if I need a better one. I saw one from King that looks identical and is the same price range and now that I see your video, if i buy it, I'm going to order some extra clips so I can have a bunch of blades ready to go with one end already secured, so I just have to thread it through then put the other end on. Thanks!
Thanks a lot.
excellent! I thought it would be more difficult! Easy!!
Great video, definitely explains very well for us beginners
Vanessa Knight thanks much for the comment. Hope you have a great day.
Timothy LeMoine I did think with the adaptors the shake is worse...maybe I installed wrong? With the pins it doesn’t bounce or shake as much
Vanessa Knight is the saw itself shaking or your workpiece?
Thanks.
The video was very helpful Timothy, thanks. I've been contemplating on getting a Wen Scroll Saw.
thanks for the vid
Nice!!
Hey Timothy, Wondering if you have any experience with wen 3922. I'm new to scroll sawing and went with this model cause it looked like wen listened to comments and made some design changes like the easy access side panel. However, it does not have the clips like you show in your video, rather the blades insert into blade holders top & bottom that are a solid part of the machine. I have tried everything I know to get pinless blades in there and they will not tighten. Didn't know with your experience whether you could help.
Thanks for the Video... This video wasn't around when I first bought my WEN. Something to note is that, even though they don't show it for the newer saws, there are pin/pinless blade clamps that fit the new model WEN (replacing the pin end blade holders it comes with now) . I bought and use them instead of these hanging adapters that are very hard to use, especially for inside cuts where you only loosen the top blade holder. There are thumb bolts with plastic T nobs that work very well for tool-less blade changes also. I have found my WEN saw much easier to use since I converted to the "old" system. I really don't understand why WEN changed to this system when people use their saws to do intricate work which requires inside cuts and lots of loosening the top (or for top feeders) bottom blade for changing inside holes).
soulssong2u could you provide the information on where you bought the pin/pinless blade holder from and knobs?
Yeah, what Mathew Landis said. What was the point in bringing it up and then not giving any info on where to get it? This new system of pinless holder is so freaking annoying that it makes me not want to use the saw. I am doing intricate fretwork where I need to re-feed the blade every few minutes and it takes way longer to undo, feed, and re-attach the blade. It sucks. Whoever came up with this design should be fired and whoever greenlighted this piece of shit should be drawn and quartered.
Sure Matthew. There are a few places to get them. WEN sells them but they have been out of stock for awhile. These are the same ones, just different part number (and work for both upper and lower on the WEN).
You will need to remove the side panel to get to it, however. . I used them on my WEN and they work great. www.partswarehouse.com/Ryobi-Supoprt-Upper-Blade-RY-089051003031-p/ry-089051003031.htm Here is where you can get the T-Bolt - It runs through the unthreaded side into the threaded side to pinch the blade holder onto the blade end. www.partswarehouse.com/Ryobi-Handle-Holder-RY-089051003079-p/ry-089051003079.htm
Sorry about that. Literally a minute before writing that I threw in the towel after two hours and gave up in frustration on my brand new scrollsaw. I shouldn't have taken it out on you, but that retardedly designed pinless blade clamp had me at my wit's end. Even when you know exactly how to work it, it is still the most awkward and time-consuming piece of crap that I have ever come across. So, once again, I apologize.
Thanks! You're a big man for apologizing. I accept and will delete my comment.
Hello,
From where can I buy those blade holder?
When you buy the Wen saw they come with it. I'm not aware of them selling them outright.
@@TimothyLeMoine1Cor13_4-8 thank you ☺️
Thanks for your video. I just got the 3921. The pin on my pin less blade adaptors are not straight and are at an angle. I am having trouble getting the blade straight. Also the upper arm and lower arm have two threaded holes each for the blade holders and are not centered on the arms. Not sure this is correct or I received a lemon. Anyone else have 2 treaded holes on each arm? Hopefully I can contact them and ask.
I just got the wen 3923 and it came with a bunch of small accessories. I’ve never used a scroll saw but I’ve been watching your videos. I’ve seen you install blades but have you reviewed the 3923 ? Cause I’m lost.
Nice explanation, however with this system it is very difficult to make internal cuts when the blade needs to be inserted through the workpiece, because the lower clamp falls off when trying to do this. Why can’t some company produce a mid-range scroll saw with a good clamping device like the one used e.g. by Pegas ??? 🤷🏼♂️😳😬 I returned a scroll saw to the shop for this reason.. disillusioned.
Ok they sent me those two as well as another kind with thumb screws to tighten the blade and simple instructions to replace the pin type but the instructions were for smarter people than me . Any ideas ?
My saw doesn't have the same metal piece the adapters are supposed to go on. The ones on there are to wide for the pieces to go on. Plus, Wen doesn't have those kits. The adapt pre are sold separately.
Really helpful> I will be back
Tim, what saw would you suggest for easiest to use blade changes etc-least amount of craziness???
The Dewalt DW788 would fit that description. When I'm doing lots of internal/ detailed cuts that saw has a nice swing arm. I'll bet I can change a blade in 2-3 seconds.
I tried getting more clamps like that but can't find it. Do you know any website that sells it? My WEN clamp came with a piece missing and want to get another one. Thanks
How and where do I get those clips for the painless blade? My WEN scroll saw is model 3922 and it did not come with those clips. And you doing say what they are called so I don’t know what to look for
if only I could talk that fast, I'd do my own high speed video too!
Hello Sir, can you plz give details about where will get this holder ?? Is there any online site to buy ??
hey Timothy...i just bought some scroll saw blades and the allen wrench with handle...but your mech page isn't working....just a heads up.
I have the 3922 model and I don’t believe the blades holders are removable. Am I wrong.?
Mine came with a jig to install the pinless blade.
Thanks for this. Wen adds those pinless blade holders in a bag with no instructions on how to deal with them! Already purchased Olsen blades, otherwise I would have supported you.
Video de hace dos años. Y yo viendo muy interesado
Can you make any shape with this tool? Sorry I’m new to this. And I’d love to make my father some stuff.
Yes, you can. In most instances it is considered a 2 dimensional tool. Though I'd say most woodworking tools are considered 2 dimensional tools. If you're thinking of a specific project let me know and I can give you my thoughts on how to go about succeeding.
@@TimothyLeMoine1Cor13_4-8 that’s awesome, I’ve been buying medium sized plywood and planned to create flat shapes such as hearts, stars or any type of shape and paint over it. I wanted to get something like the one on your video but I’m not sure if it’s ok for beginners like myself and my dad recommended me getting something smaller.
@@soulstice7671 my son is 10 and uses it on his own. Not sure if that helps with your decision.
@@TimothyLeMoine1Cor13_4-8 okay! Thank you so much!
