- In this video, I will show the difference in shooting in HDR PQ mode, normal mode, automatic mode, and the additional color profile cinectyle technicolor
In my opinion, HDR PQ doesn't offer any special advantages when shooting in this mode, or I couldn't find them properly. But in this video you can see everything for yourself. I deliberately took very difficult shooting conditions to convey high dynamic range and notice the difference.

I don't understand the difference between HDR PQ and cinestyle. I have my camera (Canon R50) set to cinestyle for recording, but I can also have HDR PQ mode set at the same time.... Should I do both? Or leave HDR PQ off when using the cinestyle mode?
How did you do that? I need to know because I want 10 bit video with cinestyle out of my r10...
@@marijn4743 you can't use the cinestyle profile while on HDR PQ....you can use the HDR PQ mode+ normal and reduce contrast and saturation... you'll get that on 10 bit... cinestyle is 8 bit so it won't be as good on editing
you can see more detail in cinestyle, remember cinestyle was created to be used in a hollywood movie

This is video to prove how YT spreads false information. Lol. Cinestyle was always a fake dynamic range. PQ is 10 bit color in a 12 bit container. You should know how to expose and grade it though.
This video has no words at all, but only shows details in light and dark areas. And as you can see from the video, there is a difference in colors, but not in the dynamic range. That's all I wanted to show.
And you are right, Cinestyle didn’t add more dynamic range.
There is a big difference in dynamic range too. Just expose the hdr pq a step below. No ETTR. Expose a step below center and than pull shadows at post. You will see the crazy difference. DO the same test again. It's all about exposing correct at the beginning.@@Mykytasblog

Hdr pq is far superiour to cinestyle. Even though you clearly messed up with grading here. Cinestyle was a big lie and i can't believe still in 2023 people are thinking it was a profile. Vibestyle basically raises your shadows "after" canon matrix already bakes the information. Thay's why it was muddy always. Tons of fake gurus said it is better dybamic range. Lol.. You can open the cinestyle profule file by Canons editor and see it yourself. Hdr pq is a bt2020 10 bit file. But looks like you have no idea about these.. i hope noone will watch this amdpick the finestle.. lol..
I got that feeling while using both... there's no point in using cinestyle its just another 8 bit profile... you can custom that look yourself... but reading what you said here cinestyle is just a filter lol... I ll use mine on hdr pq with the neutral profile and lower the saturation and contrast a couple notches... with a fast lens and a nd filter that should look great
This video isn't even HDR. Epic fail
