Aloha, the tuba roses are used in Hawaii to create lovely leis. And YES, the smell is indescribable! We wear them because of the smell. Cannot wait until it grows.

We love your garden, Especially the espalier! Did you know that if you put Dawn dishwashing liquid with water in a spray bottle you can kill the spiders!🙌🏼 I hate spiders too. I use it late at night on webs, because the spiders will kill my dragonflies!🦋

We all need a Brent, am I right! As far as the next section of fence, why not just add the boards to the existing, if its strong enough, that way nobody has to be bothered and the neighbor keeps his face boards towards there yard. The scent of Tuberose is to die for, mmm. All your beauty in the garden, shows with all the hard work you and your assistant Freya put in.
I love the lattice vine. I think I'll paint one on my courtyard wall so I never have to trim. 😅

Amazing progress!! Beauty takes time to establish!! You may want to consider mixing your amendments into the soil and then planting; it is often overpowering for plants that are a bit shocked to handle when they are directly on the roots or are on top of the plant´s rhyzome or stem/stalk. Keep up the amazing transformation! Your property is fabby!!

Ohmygoodness ❤️ I'm so sorry about the spiders. They don't bother me, but I feel you. Texas has some hideous insects that totally creep me out. The fence looks A-mazing! I wonder who the first brave person was to say, "I think I'm gonna paint my fence black"? What a brilliant idea.

Great job on the new fence section; it’s going to look amazing when it’s all complete. Love the “cheat” to make it taller! I feel your pain regarding the spiders; I’m not quite as freaked out as you but I’d just as soon not seen them. Roaches are my kryptonite-I hate loath and despise them!!!!!!!! Could you use surgical gloves to wind the honeysuckle around the wire? They’re thin enough so you could feel what you’re doing yet protect you from the creepy crawlies.

Tuber rose is heavily scented, like gardenia. I love it, but some people find it overpowering. It will be interesting to see how it does in a grow bag. Your espalier is beautiful. 16:12

I have had tuberose in my garden for 2 seasons now. Absolutely worth it. They die back to the ground and disappear over the winter but pop back up around April for me. I am in zone 9a florida so would definitely have you to try and plant it in the ground after the blooms are done.

😂🕷️ it's funny what each of us can tolerate and what gives us heebie-jeebies. You can squish a row of aphids with your bare hands 🤢 but can't do spiders. I confess i can do neither. For spiders, I just move on to a different peoject and hope they're gone when I come back.

I got goose bumps just watching you touch those spiders 🤢 I’m cool with spiders as long as they stay away from me. I have had to go inside a few times because there were too many creepy crawlies around.
Robbie, you and the spiders, hilarious. I kept wondering why you were backing up. In Indiana growing up, we had gorgeous ones that just hung out on their webs, black and yellow, big. I don't ever see a spider in the back yard, ever. Maybe in the shed a black widow or two that scare the hell out of me, but I hardly ever have seen a daddy longlegs even. Maybe because I have a ton of birds, tons. I am ready to plant potatoes!!!!
The almost finished fence looks so nice, lesson learned best to paint those edges prior to putting up so you don’t see the unpainted parts, birds are cute, the espalier is beautiful. Brent and you have made your place so nice. Love how you have your projects and he has his plus finishing up your little I can’t just can’t with the spiders. 😢😂

I know what you mean by spiders, I can't stand the look of them and can't garden near a Webb, which I find covers my fence, I got some peppermint oil mixed it with water and a little washing up liquid , and give the fence a spray apparently spiders dont like mint and keep away ,,, you do have to keep up with spraying but the peppermint oil isn't expensive and last a while as you only need a little x

Great job on the fence! I planted herbs and peppers in grow bags. Due to grow bags (maybe certain ones), they air prune the roots (which was fine), but they also needed more water as they dried out faster. I do not have drip irrigation, so you might not experience this. It's just something to check.
The fence is looking so awesome! And I’m with you on the spiders. If they are in my house or in my way they’re goners. Please share more on how you trained Freya. I have a 1-year-old black lab that brings me to tears with how naughty she is. Was it just diligence or did you go to training classes?
Can the grow bags be used multiple times or are they biodegradable? Brent is a good guy - building a fence and trimming the espalier. The fence looks good! You don't like spiders and you would really not like the big black bear that comes in our yard at night. I always keep aware of my surroundings even in the daytime when working in my garden.
I have to water grow bags ALOT especially in the summer. Mine are 15 gallons. I do grow my tomatoes in 15 gallon grow bags just have to put straw on top to help keep some moisture in there. I’m in south Texas 97 degrees yesterday…. Aggghhh

The fence looks amazing! Meanwhile, in regards to the spiders, what if you spray down the espalier before you start working? Maybe that would get the spiders off it! Cause I agree that touching a spider is not okay!

Good morning Robbie and Brent! The fence looks amazing! Brent you are WONDERFUL!! I could almost smell the garlic and onions... yummy 😋 and I love potatoes, and that was quite a large one. You are doing awesome in your veggie garden Robbie! I looked up the Mexican Tuberose 😍 I need them lol 😂 Speaking of Spiders 🕷 I used to mow property on a riding mower, and these giant Wolf Spiders (I think that's what they are called) would build their webs from a tree to the fence or to another tree, and in shady areas I couldn't see webs until I ran into them (face high) OMG 😳😬😫😢

I will be interested in hearing your comments about the Walla Walla onions. Do you know where they come from? Walla Walla, Washington. When I was a kid and we went to visit my aunt and Uncle in the State of Washington we would always have Walla Walla onions. Folks in Washington are very proud of these onions, so much so that my aunt always tried to get me to eat their favorite sandwich of Walla Walla onions and peanut butter. Does that sound disgusting or what? I couldn’t do it. Walla Walla is just north of the Oregon border. For trimming the espalier try using latex gloves. I do that because of spiders and I can feel the plants easily. Fence looks great. And thanks for the real life shots of spider fear - loved watching you get grossed out.

Spider #1 crawling on me= burn the house down. We're moving. 😂 I have chipmunks that will randomly take to running in front of me (RIGHT in front of me while on my hand and knees). After two, I have to take a break indoors. *shudder*

😂😂😂 Spiders!! I totally understand. Last summer there were 3 giant webs in different areas of my backyard. Those spiral kind with huge spiders. They had bodies the size of large grapes with chunky legs and fleshy tone coloring. 😳 so scary🤯. I was able to kill one and kept tearing down the webs of the others. I hope they have moved on. I had never seen these before.

I was just going to suggest the same. The thin kind like surgical gloves. We can find them at pharmacies or hardware stores in the painting section. Also wear a long sleeve shirt for the task at hand just in case. Lol Maybe use a soft dustpan brush to sweep them off the plants before working it too.
