30:57 native people used Earth as insulation so the double walls not only protect from the heat but also invasion they surround their entire house with Earth cuz as you know when you dig down into the Earth it's cooler
Please listen to all the people who commented about not entering the rooms & putting things back exactly where you found them. There's so much amazing stuff & good info in your video. I know you must respect the importance of this site.
Please don't go inside one bump and the whole thing comes tumbling down just because you needed to go in. One of the supports that you were admiring was not extended all the way to the other wall and was precariously being held up by basically what now looks like a Jenga. I'm sure the wall was wider back in the day but it isn't now. All it would take is one bump and it would be all your fault so just don't do it. There's obviously evidence of past people there that have helped the structure a bit to survive. You're far from the first modern people there but don't be the ones that ruin it for everybody.
Lighten up! They're fine. But I do think they should have at least take off their backpacks before going in there. I hate it when bloggers won't go in there, missing a great opportunity to see what is in there.
I would guess that the Tribe was trying to reinforce the roof after a partial collapse of the wall. Probably from some trespassing jack wagon who was crawling around inside it that caused it to collapse.
That hole is an air vent. Just next time you find anything it's good to always put it back where you find it. Also, not stepping on the walls will keep them from falling down and others can enjoy.😊
This site is not possible to find on Google Earth as 3D Satelite view does not work in remote locations and does not work at this site, it is just a black shadow. Also, this is a well known site with a maintained trail leading to it. Multiple people had done videos on this ruin.
Best, most interesting, most thought provoking video yet. Hope we get more like this. At 85, I love learning and living vicariously through your videos. Thank you.
The thick wall....had to support a lot of weight. The "pass thru" window was for defense. Black ceiling, many many fires. And proof people lived there rather than using it for storage. Keep hiking around the canyons you will find hundreds or even thousands of ancient pueblo cliff dwellings. 500 to 1000 yrs old. Very fragile, treat with respect, do not enter, climb, lean,or touch, no food or drink that could attract rodents, and thats also one reason you shouldnt camp too close.
Never go inside !! Put your selfie stick in ! Sorry but your breaking so many general rules of ancient sites ! Has it been looked at by scientists? That bone should of been put back where it was found ! A great change on your video s . But think no trace .

I’m pretty sure that’s Tribal land and I believe you need Tribal permission to go to one of these sites and they probably won’t let you go in them. If not then your trespassing, I wouldn’t let the tribal police see your video or you could be in some serious trouble. Plus stay out of them! They aren’t a jungle Jim for you to tear up. Look with your eyes and not your hands and feet.
@@01Lendathere's 22 different tribes, all with tribal land ownership/treaties. So, do some research for the area they're in and you can answer your own question.
There are thousands of miles of country side it belongs to all who are wanting to learn the past and or enjoy places that are away from people just to be alone and get away. You need to worry more about mining companies going in don't you think
Wow, you guys are lucky to explore that ruin. We just saw all the different ruin locations of Wupatki National Monument. My hubs hiked to the petroglyphs at Devils Bridge... both in AZ. We also visited and toured Tuzigoot and Montezuma Castle and Well. Saw your video on Tuzigoot too! We are heading to the Grand Canyon to take our grandson for the first time. Safe travels!
Do some more just like this!!! You will not regret it....I'm handicap.... for a time ...4 years. But it seems like yesterday . Where you beautiful people went... no wheelchair will go. GOD BLESS YALL ! Thankyou ❤❤❤
Wow! What a great ruin. Thanks for sharing. We think Tom is right they may have used the double exterior walls for extra support like buttresses, and insulation. Really a magical view. Any good campgrounds close by?
Im wondering how level they made those beams, as it seems pretty straight on the eyes. Also the fact that they placed small pebbles in between wood and rock to level it really makes me wonder if they knew how to level things
Thank you guys for at least going inside the Indian shelters and investigate them so we can see them with you thank you for bringing us along we really appreciate it
The yellow berries that is called deadly nightshade cousin of the tomato plant. I love the places you guys go to around Sedona I grew up there and know plenty of ruins that I would love to share with you. Thanks you two for the beautiful places you take us too in the desert SW.
Cool vid.. say didn't Tom tour a RV manufacturer? I watched and wanted to search that brand but between CZcams histories and bookmarks I can't find it :-(
Hey bud I got to give you wife credit when she explains about the history of the Indians and all that she sounds professional that sounds pretty cool I can listen to her talk all day LOL
I'm so h I found your videos. This is something I used to love to do. Just go around exploring. Sometimes you really lose more than you think when it comes to divorce. I'm not bitter just sad for all I lost.
Interesting. A few things noticeable: The ruin does not look so interesting, but what you see in the distance. What you see in the distance should be researched. The visible (metal) support under the wood beams is remarkable. It looks like a gold seeker hut, not really interesting. Look at the gigantic buildings, everywhere around, in the distance; isn't that overwhelming? Giant buildings; mountains are buildings :-)
Now this site looks burned out. I know they season the ceiling boards. But some of those structures look heat melted and blasted out with dynamite. They had to hide their children and their scalps were worth over a months wages. There's definitely fire damage. Maybe they rebuilt after a major fire? Love your videos. Thank You for sharing with us. Can't wait for the next one.
That was so much fun. They built their roofs very similar to the ancient Hebrews. I believe the tall outer wall may have added insulation from the wind and driving monsoon rains to protect mortar on the inner support walls. Also makes the ruin look larger than it was so would give the appearance of a larger group. I think they were smaller people and quite adept at navigating the rock walls compared to us. They most likely collected rain water for daily use and to make the mortar. The climate would have been a bit wetter hundreds of years ago. At the beginning that one area the was a nook in the rock that was blackened inside was probably a smoke house and an area to dry the corn and possibly even a cooking area. The roof logs being black. If you peel the bark then burn the outside of the log it preserves it from rotting. I would so love to do some hikes like that but would be stuck as my knees cannot handle going down slope for extended periods of time. So I love how well done your videos are. I live in Arizona north of Prescott. So many places to go see.
1st comment after getting out of vehicle is how dirty it got. Citified. But they are out in the desert taking chances and learning a thing or two....and im at home 4 states away watching it on youtube.... mmm hmm. Envy a little.
You're not supposed to enter ancient ruins. Or touch artifacts. Don't be selfish. Some day all of these sights will be gone because of CZcams adventurers. Sad!
Hey can u guys give us some videos of the night sky with all the stars out. Recently upgraded to a class a and ruched into and I have to redo total interior from water leaks and my trips are delayed now lol..would appreciate some night images from your off the grid adventures. Thank you..happy trails to you!
24:20 looks like someone installed a brace to hold up the structure. I don't think the ancient people had thing's like that. Very kool. But still very out of place for that structure.
Juniper berries are okay to consume in very small amounts more like amounts that are in a recipe. So beautiful !! Thats the biggest man made structures I've ever seen in the desert. So cool someone has taken the time to support the roof with metal pole. The lava rock that you're seeing is called pumice. To make wood waterproof they would burn it causing a shell stealing it from moisture. That bee wants too BEE A STAR !!😂😂 The helicopter was probably showing people the man made structures.
It is it's protecting your little homes and also it's a good Lookout when they stand on they can see what you see right now they can see the whole day out of the place and then they can see their enemies coming they can also see when the Wagon train goes through goes through
Hey bud show me the walls that are 3 ft thick also to have dirt in them they might not fill them all the way to the top because that's probably how to get the water run off don't give it a range of water has to go somewhere so maybe that's how they got the water that was actually the rain covers
Well it's pretty cool they did but back then I don't think they had Home Depot to buy little support system you know hold your your beams up in your roof so yeah there's a main support in their modern one that said the little height you were in for the Indians and that little support being that they put in their takes four bolts it needs to have screws and bolts back in
Hey bud when you were inside that little Indian Fort did you see the modern being support hanging up in there holding that support me go to the main support be in the house but a shelter up did you see that modern support being that's in there we did
Does anyone else notice what appears to be a modern metal jack stand or support at time stamp 25:09? Calls into question the age and authenticity of the site. Wondering why they never bothered to mention it or bring it to their viewer's attention.
Please don’t go inside the ruins!!! I was cringing watching you both going through doorways! I know you are respectful and cautious but your packs could touch the top and it all come down! You’d feel terrible. Watching you both do that ruined the episode for me. Amazing place!!! Breathtaking!!!

There are thousands of miles of country side it belongs to all who are wanting to learn the past and or enjoy places that are away from people just to be alone and get away. You need to worry more about mining companies going in don't you think
It's not on tribal land. It's on the Prescott National Forest and is a well known site open to the public near Perkinsville.
What a find!!
The work involved to bring up the poles and make the mud ie bring water, is incomprehensible
Yes, so hard to comprehend!
Thank you for the wonderful views for those of us that cannot do the climbing
Wow, you guys are lucky to explore that ruin. We just saw all the different ruin locations of Wupatki National Monument. My hubs hiked to the petroglyphs at Devils Bridge... both in AZ. We also visited and toured Tuzigoot and Montezuma Castle and Well. Saw your video on Tuzigoot too! We are heading to the Grand Canyon to take our grandson for the first time. Safe travels!
Thank you! Love that area, safe travels!
that's pretty awsome
Do some more just like this!!! You will not regret it....I'm handicap.... for a time ...4 years. But it seems like yesterday . Where you beautiful people went... no wheelchair will go. GOD BLESS YALL ! Thankyou ❤❤❤
More to come!
Videos like this are such a treat❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You gotta stop picking things up and moving them...
Thanks for the video. That was a pretty amazing place.
Glad you enjoyed it
Had to stop early to thank for the pause for the variety of flowers!
Hey, thanks for noticing the flowers! Glad you enjoyed that part of the video.
There’s thousands of those structures all ove the south west some have been dated 4k plus years old .
The “ random flowers “ are Hedgehog Cactus. The blue on the rock is lichen.
So cool they had amazing views to wake up to! Wish I cold live like that no money just living
The beautiful plant with purple flowers and yellow berries is a Solanum elaeagnifolium, related to tomato, potato, pepper and eggplant
Wow! What a great ruin. Thanks for sharing. We think Tom is right they may have used the double exterior walls for extra support like buttresses, and insulation. Really a magical view. Any good campgrounds close by?
Thanks! We love the free camping off 525C near Sedona AZ.
Yes ....double wall... It is air conditioning. In dwellings and rock fortresses, Insulation / air conditioning.
Im wondering how level they made those beams, as it seems pretty straight on the eyes. Also the fact that they placed small pebbles in between wood and rock to level it really makes me wonder if they knew how to level things
Less than 5 percent of the old ruins have been studied. Several new sites are discovered every year . Most are a 2 plus day hike no roads close .
Juniper berries are for Sauerkraut. Cook apples, sauerkraut juniper berries, fennel seed, bacon and onions and you will make lovers of sauerkraut.
The best video I have seen on your channel. Thank you for the adventure.
Wow, thanks!
Do not touch archeological sites! Look, yes, touch, no. It's right up there with the pot hunters.
WHO made you the boss!! GET A LIFE MARXIST!!!
This was an amazing video. Mountain Tribe. We love that area.
Yes!!
Thank you guys for at least going inside the Indian shelters and investigate them so we can see them with you thank you for bringing us along we really appreciate it
It's a good idea to wear hi top shoes & long pants in the desert.
It’s nice seeing you two out and about again.
Thanks so much!
The yellow berries that is called deadly nightshade cousin of the tomato plant. I love the places you guys go to around Sedona I grew up there and know plenty of ruins that I would love to share with you. Thanks you two for the beautiful places you take us too in the desert SW.
Thanks for the info!
Tremendous video. Wonderful videography of the ruins. Stunning scenic views. Wow! best regards from New Hampshire.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cool vid.. say didn't Tom tour a RV manufacturer? I watched and wanted to search that brand but between CZcams histories and bookmarks I can't find it :-(
Hey bud I got to give you wife credit when she explains about the history of the Indians and all that she sounds professional that sounds pretty cool I can listen to her talk all day LOL
You walked thru a grain storage area . They were large .
I'm so h I found your videos. This is something I used to love to do. Just go around exploring. Sometimes you really lose more than you think when it comes to divorce. I'm not bitter just sad for all I lost.
Probably an old Pueblo settlement.
I will ask you not to share the location so it doesn’t get destroyed since you drove to it . And only hiked for a few hours ..
Over thinking it. Roof is black from them building "campfires" (I'm sure there's a more accurate name for it) inside.
The man made piles of stones are called "Cairns"!
Cool
LICHEN!! NOT MOSS! I think is what its called!
Lichen is what’s growing on the rocks.
Arizona people! That’s Arizona! I live here!🌵🏜️😊
Thank you for sharing this video it is amazing
You are so welcome
I wonder what they thought of the view way back when?
Great question!
The face was fresh a fresh water flow
Unbelievable man. I watch other explorers and they have rules. Never go inside is what they would say.
Some form of "lichen" I believe on the rocks.
Thanks for pointing that out.
You're not supposed to enter ancient ruins. Or touch artifacts. Don't be selfish. Some day all of these sights will be gone because of CZcams adventurers. Sad!
LIGHTEN UP!!!
@vice4134 show some respect!
Ah, shut up….
As intact as those are, and as exposed my guess is that they are much newer than 1000 years
Wow that's awesome!
It really is!
It was placed there many years ago by the forest service to help stabilize the structure. It is a very popular and often visited ruin.
Seriously, there are too many of these videos of people doing the same thing, eroding every place they visit
QUIT WATCHING THEN troll.
Look who's the troll!!!
@01Lenda show some respect!
Might have been a protective wall against enemies. A place to fight from and hard to penetrate with arrows and spears.
That bee wants too BEE A STAR !!😂😂
The helicopter was probably showing people the man made structures.
Quite a variation from the old videos of daily camping life. I like it, but I do miss the old days of the channel.
More to come!
if they found it it has been visted many times already
The growth you see on the rocks is called Lycan, it takes a very long time for this to form on the rocks
.telling us these are old rocks
It is it's protecting your little homes and also it's a good Lookout when they stand on they can see what you see right now they can see the whole day out of the place and then they can see their enemies coming they can also see when the Wagon train goes through goes through
The sign for, no all is well, is right arm up and to the right, left arm down to the left. Just fyi
Driving slow and steady is best...!
No black on the roof frome fires it wasn’t living space .
Purple flower is horse nettle and watch the stickers because they really irritate. (Yes, I live in the desert SW.
Amateurs. You are not suppose to enter these structures or touch anything!!!!!!!!!!!!………….😡.
LIGHTEN UP!!!
I like to find treasure. If there's no treasure I usually just push all the walls over and spray paint stuff. Best place is Indian grave yards, 👌 .😃
@@jordankashuba3467 I hope this is sarcasm.
The roofing material inder the mud is shaggy bark juniper
Thanks for sharing!
Hopefully the level of the ground has changed. it would be hell to get rocks & tree parts up there
The fear these people must have dealt with to choose to fall of a cliff than face being eating or sacrifice or slavery .
Lichen grows on rock, wood and shrubs
I always ff to the good part !
Hey bud show me the walls that are 3 ft thick also to have dirt in them they might not fill them all the way to the top because that's probably how to get the water run off don't give it a range of water has to go somewhere so maybe that's how they got the water that was actually the rain covers
Why did u go inside???
Big,No,No!!
I just found u. When can I meet up with yall and enjoy this
The entire complex you went thru was for food storage and items to make food.
Please dont flake off any more ruin walls , it may have been that way for 400 yrs, you never know?
Well it's pretty cool they did but back then I don't think they had Home Depot to buy little support system you know hold your your beams up in your roof so yeah there's a main support in their modern one that said the little height you were in for the Indians and that little support being that they put in their takes four bolts it needs to have screws and bolts back in
Do think might be a living quarters it looks like those in Arizona
Hey bud when you were inside that little Indian Fort did you see the modern being support hanging up in there holding that support me go to the main support be in the house but a shelter up did you see that modern support being that's in there we did
Where are you at? What State?
Engineering edge occasion
Does anyone else notice what appears to be a modern metal jack stand or support at time stamp 25:09? Calls into question the age and authenticity of the site. Wondering why they never bothered to mention it or bring it to their viewer's attention.
Please don’t go inside the ruins!!! I was cringing watching you both going through doorways! I know you are respectful and cautious but your packs could touch the top and it all come down! You’d feel terrible. Watching you both do that ruined the episode for me. Amazing place!!! Breathtaking!!!
