Seether is such a great band, and so undervalued..
So few actually know about them, and most that do, do it because Amy Lee was in one of their songs.
Was lucky enough to be in a small concert with them..
Still one of my favorite concerts ever.

I always love when reaction channels react to Seether songs cuz it doesn't happen often. So when I saw the notification I had to exit out of what I was watching to watch this. They have so many amazing songs. I've been listening to them since their first album came out when I was in high school and they've definitely held up over time. And Shaun is so laid back in interviews but also highly intelligent and insightful. If you ever end up getting to interview him and the rest of the band I think both you and us listeners would love it. Also if you wanted to check out more of their music that would be awesome too. Oh and as for how they speak they sound surprisingly British. Which I guess isn't actually that surprising given South African history.

It's a shame that they couldn't make it in SA and had to go to the US to make it big but they deserve all that they have today. Shaun even dated Amy-lee vocalist of Evenesence... lucky bastard! My favorite genre of music of all time. PLEASE react to more 2000’s hard rock bands. A song that comes to mind is a classic underrated banger, “Cold” by Crossfade. These guys had a breakthrough album but then fell off a little bit after and I feel Cold is so well written but never gets the credit it deserves. Stripped to acoustic, unlike 99% of artists now, they are even better! From the lyrics to the theatrically performances, not enough great things can be said about them. Dangerous, especially acoustic, if not experienced, is cheating yourself out of a great pleasure in life! Lol

So It's "Rodeo" by that famous shredder, Aaron Copeland. I know that because I'm a music teacher. I also know that even though Seether is a South African band, the drummer (John Humphrey) is from Oklahoma and he was a trombone player in my junior high band my first year of teaching. I wouldn't let him switch to drums but I guess he figured it out. We have stayed in touch and I've lived his Rock and Roll life vicariously through the years. I'm retired now, but I did quite a bit of what you're doing here with my music appreciation and beginning guitar classes. There is some great teaching available in Seether tunes. I used "Pass Slowly" to show switching between duple and triple meter. You need to check it out. It reminds me of what the Beatles did in "Girl." "Tonight" is a great example of studio production. Somewhere I managed to download the individual studio tracks that I could play and then stack up for the students. Keep up the good fight! By the way, I have seen both Seether AND Aaron Copeland in concert. Probably not too many folks can say that.

I imagine someone has mentioned it already I didn't bother to search, but in case it has not come up yet, his guitar is tuned to a quite common and popular tuning called "Drop D" So only the low E string is tuned down a whole step, the rest of the strings stay in standard tuning. This allows a guitarist to play a power chord with one single finger.

I'm a British guy who has been living in South Africa and been a fan of the band even before they left for America, and your right about the south African humour and the nirvana influence. Watch any live Seether concert on CZcams and you'll find them covering Nirvana, there's even voice comparison videos between shaun Morgan and Kurt Cobain.
Side note, Morgan is his middle name. His surname is Welgemoed, but he changed it to Morgan after the band went to America as Welgemoed was probably to difficult for Americans to pronounce 😂

Check out "Stoke the Fire" by them. Major Alice in Chains vibes on that one. The whole Poison the Parish album is awesome.
