Water Rescue/Recovery and a Wildland Fire - PIO Vlog
Vložit
- čas přidán 6. 08. 2020
- On this PIO Vlog we follow South Metro Firefighters to a water rescue at Chatfield State Park in Jefferson County, Colorado. After 90 minutes spent searching for a drowning victim, a thunderstorm created dangerous outflow winds that capsized a rescue boat, sending 4 personnel into the water. The rescuers had to be rescued and once the storm passed, recovery operations began. We also take you to a wildland interface fire in Douglas County where nearly 5-acres burned. Connor and Eric conclude the Vlog with patch shoutouts.
As a youtuber myself. I dearly believe in content and South Metro Fire Rescue never failed in good content, NOT ONCE! Keep up the great work!
Sorry for my language but stop being such a dick this is the second time I've seen a rude comment from u
SpicyRice haha, no one gets fooled by ur 2 other accounta
Chris Wen ok👍
SpicyRice mind India liking the videos and that comment
SpicyRice I meant undisliking
Could you show off the UAV team some more? Really interested in that new fire tech.
Yes the UAV team!
Thank you for all that you do. To dedicate your lives to help others...well, it speaks volumes of all of your characters..It's a job, but it't a dedication also. Bless you all and Thank You for your Service!... Peace !
To the people reading this: have a good day /night and stay safe during these hard times 🙏.
Hey think you sow much for your encouraging words and I will be praying for you as well ok have a good day
Well done! So glad every rescuer made it back home at Chatfield. I responded to many calls there when West Metro had the contract. It’s a great park but you video reminds me of how brutal the lake becomes in seconds. I always don a life vest and you showed why well. Divers and rescuers train for that and that lake takes what it wants without warning. Crews did well. Brutal. Eric you’re the best PIO ever in the US Fire service! Really built a great system and added strength to SMFR! Congrats Connor on wedding bells and super well said commentary!
With everything goin on rn i like to set time aside to watch the vlogs helps me start my weekend right
Hi guys I am praying for everyone ho is on your guys station and I want to say thank you for your service and my God bless you and your guys family as well
Connor, Congratulation on your wedding and honeymoon. Carmel-By-The-Sea is where i went to high school and is still one of my favorite places in California, even though I now reside in San Diego.
I just wanted to clarify for the CA Dept of Corrections patch the "Eureka" is the state motto not the office. Its Greek for "I found it" which dates back to the miners of CA. I love your videos you guys do a great job.
I love your videos I really like the day in the life videos when we you get to see the station life and the calls they go on
Can't wait for the day in the life of a battalion chief! I am also suggesting a day in the life of a PIO!
Glad to see my Rudolph FD finally on the show! I'm the one that sent that patch in
G'day, Thank you for the fantastic job you have been doing for South Metro. This is so great I think others could benefit from learning about it. So I introduce your VLog's into my own Fire and Rescue Media team. UAV team (RPAS for Australia) fleet Friday would be outstanding
The person that wasnt located was one of my friends. He was a good guy. Miss the man alot. Aric Was a hilarious dude there was one class period where he stole a projector and speakers.
Is he alive?
Mis saludos cordiales desde Córdoba Argentina 🇦🇷
I’ll wait here patiently for it to start 🙂
I skip the intro, I literally know exactly how long to skip it 😂
Mikail Nowinsky 1:00
Exactly lol

@@Khloe1014-m4b when you came... It was up 48 hours early.
That boat that capsized was overloaded. We recently had a police boat capsize in Puget Sound back in November. One of the officers did not survive and to this day his body has not been located.
I love this channel!!
Thoughts go out to the family of the swimmer, that’s very tragic.
CONNOR IS BACK!! YAY!
Would it be possible to do a video that goes over all the uniforms and the differences between them in depth?
I can't wait for the video to start
Big fan of you guys ! And are we going to see anymore of the station Saturday’s really enjoyed the first one
South Metro Pio are awesome

Y'all should create a PIO page on your website and post the received patches. :)

Carmel by the sea is a neat place!
Great video are you guys going to do another fire station tour video?
Got a good video you got pretty good Department good job guys thank you Santos Vauxhall New Jersey
I don’t live far from Judsonia or Nowco. Both are about 30 minutes north east of me
My department has a road called Catfish Lake Road. It’s very dangerous and most calls that happen there are fatal
How long does it usually take for an area that size to comeback from a fire?
Good jobs
Land-locked cops probably driving the boat like barnies and flipped it.
You saw how rough that water was. You think you could have held it any better????
I love how they arent trying to monetise this
wondering what mailing address to sent patches to? I've got a couple from up here in British Columbia I'd like to send you! Thanks!
I live In Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. If and when I do get a WFPS (Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service) Patch I will send it and where can I find the PO Box whatever you guys use to get patches from others..
Interesting
So was wondering, what exactly are challenge coins?
Great video.
If you have interest in an unmanned water surface vehicle that can assist you on the mission ?
WOW
Hey connor did you go to Big Sur? If so you should've gotten a patch from them
For an english native (and the struggle y'all have with the german R ;)) Conor pronounced the german town name rather well.
Eric meanwhile butchered the name horribly :D But to be fair, the TH is bound to throw off english natives. Just imagine the H not being there and you'll get closer.
Is it just me or does the boat that capsized look like it has it's motor trimmed up, right before it happens
You should do a Day In The Life of a SAFETY OFFICER
Stay safe 👩🏼🚒⚕️
And what is the next fleet Friday on
Can we get a day in the life of the drone unit ?
What ever happened to station Saturday?
More day in the life please
Good job on the water rescue

How do we send a patch to you ?!
and SMFR is mabey 1 of the most busy Fire department in USA??
Hi there I would like to know where I can get south metro fire email for the pio group
I like to have what can happen when your patches
Do you guys use BLM or DNR as part of the initial response and mop up operations?
None of the land that is within South Metro's jurisdiction is federal land, so BLM is not typically on an initial response. BLM may respond if the incident goes into extended attack and there becomes an extended attack with interagency resource requests. Colorado DNR is no longer responsible for fire suppression activities, those responsibly are now part of the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention & Control (DFPC) within the Department of Public Safety. They are also not requested for initial attack, but would likely be requested to assist before the BLM were on an extended attack incident.
One of the agencies that South Metro assists regularly to the west does cover a lot of USFS land, so BLM can occasionally make an appearance on those fires on the USFS's request.
As for mop up operations, if those resources are on scene, then they might be used for mop up operations . Most of the wildland fires in South Metro are grass and brush, so a majority of incidents do not make it past the first day and are therefore mopped up by the local crews. If an incident did get big enough to bring in state and interagency resources, then there isn't any reason not to use them for mop up other than trying to not inconvenience them as much as possible and allow them to return home as soon as possible as they are usually based far away in the mountains of Colorado.
Who is the woman of Intro?
What is CRM 154 on pulse point
Castle Rock Fire Department Medic 154. Castle Rock is one of the departments to South Metro's immediate south side and will provide automatic aid if South Metro needs units to respond. In return, South Metro also provide automatic aid to Castle Rock should they need the units. There is a roughly one mile stretch of I-25 where South Metro and Castle Rock units will often respond into each other's jurisdiction depending on the direction of travel.
Is South Metro at the Pine Gulch Fire?
Brush Engine 41 (a Type 3 engine) is deployed with a three man crew on the Pine Gulch Fire.
Whos with me 8:26 it was very emotional video to watch them look me thinking if he/she wouldve survived but me nowing there probably DOA
