I'm Building a 100% Waterproof Dugout, DIY, Craft Skills-Part 2

- Hello everyone!
In this video, you will see how I built the walls, roof, floor, and porch of my dugout house. The material I used for the walls and roof is larch wood, which is of high quality and withstands water very well. I made the waterproofing of the walls from a 100% waterproof PVC membrane, which is used to make flat roofs. I installed the insulation on the roof so that it covered the insulation that was installed on the walls and directed the water in the desired direction. I also waterproofed the floor with bitumen strips in the dugout to prevent moisture from penetrating the finished floor. If a small amount of water gets under the dugout, it will flow freely and imperceptibly under the floor so that it does not endanger my apartment. I threw quicklime under the floor, then I put larch bark on it, and in this way I got excellent thermal insulation. I used lime to prevent the development of fungi and mold and the development of a habitat for ants and other insects. For the meal, I prepared a skewered rabbit that I got from a local butcher.

Maybe the house will keep the ground beneath it dry and away from moisture on the bottom..I hope so. It's beautiful. I would live in it gladly.

I seen when you got to the slabs for the exterior, I had to chuckle. Growing up we used to get slabs of pine from a local sawmill, I used to haul a bunch into the woods and built a little hut. I didn't shave off the bark, and in Alabama woods and weather, it took a year for the bugs to make a good meal of them! The porch is great for just catching the sunrise or sunset. You do such a great job on these.

Enjoyed the floor section, the sealing etc. The lime was a good idea. When we built our chicken houses and the nesting boxes stuck out in the weather I insisted we put a rubbery type of roof sealer nailed down over the lids. 10 years later and the ply wood is as good as gold. You work hard and live life hard, good on you. Watching from New Zealand. 🇳🇿

I've taken away some clever tips from your videos. I notice the puncture proof gloves, the neoprene sheets, a level and planer. I like going 'off the grid' occasionally myself 😀 I had a fort when I was a kid, later on I spent a lot of time in the Mojave Desert racing motorcycles, so I camped out alot. Everyone should know how to live outdoors in case of crisis. It looks great!! I get lots of ideas from your videos, keep them coming!!
