I had an alloy wheels straightened out like this, but I still get an annoying vibration at around 80km/h despite having the tyres balanced twice. Think it's best to just replace it.
if you gas it too much on that first push, you could end up fighting an oval wheel as consequence for quite some time, when it was just a small bend in one area. Patience!
The tool is braced against the hub, so it levers the force applied to the inner rim edge back onto the hub? If so, isn't it liable to distort the hub and basically bend the rim on a different axis now?
I had a wheel straightened like this , it was fine but u could feel I vibration at 200mph ... “and that members of the jury is where my problems unfolded” 😂😂
It's still not perfect... when you spun it after the repair it's still slightly bent...that's a Mickey mouse job ..... perfect repair or replace wheel and return the tool is my point of view
Use a Dial indicator and some heat. Great tool and video!
Looks like a great little business.
I'm very keen to get a tool like that, just can't find such thing
Good job
Why no heat applied? Isn't aluminum alloy susceptible to cracking / breaking when bent?
Yeah was thinking the same
Interresting stuff...
johannes914 i
Is any one known from where I can get that tool.
Again,,no heat applied?
That's an interesting looking phone dial...what did it come off of? What are its measurements?
It's an early 928 rim. 70mm offset.
i could fix any rim in riverside or perris or menifee but it is a great tool
I have a rim that i need fixed call or text me 9097240124
I'd think it would egg shape the wheel pushing like that..

Well alright moneybags😂😂
Sometimes tires have natural high spots and balancing is made 100% tougher if the wheel has no imperfections to counter balance against.

No, there's a brace on the backside to support the push on on the rim (but you have to adjust it each time you go to push).
@@vsvenson Ah I see okay. Thanks for response.
Can the tire still be mounted to the rim to find a bent rim ?
Yes.

Why didn't you heat the area first?
Old school way is a bottle jack
Clever, but what about over pushing the rim? Not a tool for first timers?
Yeah, don't go too far!
I need to buy

I don't remember exactly, but I think it was around $2k.

Contact TEMA INTERNATIONAL - they will be able to give you the price.
Who does this? Any tire shop, for instance?
I don't know... There are wheel straightening shops, but I think they use other tools.
where are you located
if it's bent it can't be balanced rite? until you can in Bend it
It will just require more weight, usually opposite the bend, to balance.
Van Svenson we tried that. it did not work
Well, if it's a major lip-bend, and/or if the body of rim is no longer concentric with the hub, a few oz. of weights won't be enough to compensate.
It’s right not “rite” dummy
Even if it is 'balanced', it would still vibrate on the road if it's out of round.
where did you buy it? can I have the brand and model number please, I love it, good job!!!
It came from an Italian company: TEMA INTERNATIONAL
The tool costs more then a new rim replacement.
Ahh, but when you have 20 rims to fix, it's a bargain!
Van Svenson van how much did you charge customer for fixing wheel in video?
I only do work for myself. I don't do customer work. But I've priced rim straightening before, and it seems to range $75-$100 per rim.
Looks like a Porsche Fuchs wheel. Very expensive, ugly though.
It's the cheaper "phone dial" Porsche wheel.
I guess you can't use that tool if the rim was bent on the other side.
Jazzy little machine. You can do this or pay a Mexican dude with a hammer and a keen eye to make it perfect. Only $40
Where in Chicago I can get this done, I have bent rims
call me 7739876740
Do you have the phone number to someone that can straighten wheels?

It'll never be straight or true round.
No, but it's good enough. :)
It's still not perfect... when you spun it after the repair it's still slightly bent...that's a Mickey mouse job ..... perfect repair or replace wheel and return the tool is my point of view
