Love mine! So pretty, smells nice and saw lots of little bees and small butterflies on mine.

I'm always amazed by what insects I find on mountain mints in the wild in my area. They're always swarmed with crazy looking bees and wasps I'd never seen before. One of my favorite species is white leaf mountain mint, it's really attractive and fills the whole area with a sweet, minty smell.

Amazing plants for sure! Wasps and other insects just love them. They also bloom in session so there is pollen and nectar for weeks.

This does grow VERY well in the mountains of western North Carolina-it’s everywhere…

This plant drives bees CRAZY. The plant it self isn't that beautiful (IMHO) but why it is filled to literally hundreds of honey bees it is beautiful. Spreads likes nuts in my area (Northern VA).

Do rabbits eat them? How wide do they get? Also when you say wasps, do you mean yellow jackets? Thank you for your video.

Rabbits don't seem to bother and no to the yellow jackets. Thanks for the comment

Hi Joe. Is this one plant? This plant is definitely in my garden next year. In Ontario, some native plant nurseries carry it. Your music intro is so inviting too.

Thanks for the comment. It started as one but it will spread. Thanks for the comment.

But it does grow in the mountains. It is a common plant in the Blueridge and Appalachian Mountains.

I have a different kind of mountian mint that I started from seed this year. Do you know where one can buy seeds for the kind you are growing?

      Try prairie moon nursery online.

You've stated "It spreeads by rhizomes".
Would it also spread by seed and become a nuisance?
I've several like that that are in pots with the bottoms cut out and they don't spread on me.
Also wondering about their morthern range as I'm in Niagara Canada.

Thanks for the comment. I haven't had issues with them spreading via seeds and I've had them now for several years. They are native in Niagara county New York but it doesn't look like they're in Canada. Hope that helps 🙂

Spreads slowly. Maybe grows 5 ft.

Love this plant but this year will be the first time I grow some of my own. Do you start indoors and transplant outside later on?

Thanks for the comment. Yea, I started from seed then moved outside when all danger of frost was over
