June 14 1990 Diana visited Whaley Bridge in Derbyshire, also attended the Festival of the Rose Queens to crown the three 1990 Rose Queens at the local marina. After the ceremony she was then escorted to a narrow boat the Judith Mary moored on the canal for lunch among the notables. She was introduced to the boat's owner, Rob Sharpe.

Why do you pretend to see things that do not happen? Diana didn't "Caress their faces". She simply patted one of the girls on the side of the head to adjust the crown.
Diana was tall, bony and athletic. She had large strong hands and she was not gentle. Quite the opposite- if you watch video of her with her children as babies you will seer her grab them, hold them, restrain them, put them places, hang on to them, and hug them very hard. You will see her rearrange their hair, pull at their clothes, and tweak dome bit of clothing. You will NOT see her handling her children gently, because she didn't.
With children that she didn't know, she had a little pattern of touching one cheek, then rumpling its hair, pulling its cap over its eves or tweaking some part of its clothing. If she spoke to the child, then it was often a tease, or to point out that its face was dirty or its tie was crooked.
You continually find things to admire when what you are actually SEEING is a very famous person acting in a very ordinary way that almost every person you knowe would have done just as well, but without being so beautiful and glamorous.
Take her outfit, for example. She has a huge wardrobe of clothes. A red tailored suit is the wrong thing for a country fair and crowning of the rose Queen at a village in a scenic rural area. This is an occasion for wearing a beautiful floral dress. The red suit is what you wear to meet the hospital board, the opening of a factory, or to revue the regiment on a parade ground.
