Might as well listen to some commy pinko grunge emo music whining about what is wrong with the world and how it is not your fault!!.. I still think "modern" radio country is a disgrace to the origins of country/bluegrass/folk. If Guy Clark, Hank or any other legendary country artist heard this pop country bs they would be disappointed. Not all artists but the majority. Who wants rap pop and hip hop soiling good music?
Allen Glass the reason they’re referring to “Brad Paisley money” is because the fellow in the cowboy hat wrote a couple of Paisleys songs. I’m a fan of Paisley as a guitar player but his songwriting is trash.

Benjamin Todd is real dude! He called out the pandering County music! Real County music is Benjamin Todd. He can play with his head held hi and he does!!!
yeah I dunno who started it but it's clear that Wynn Varble escalates the situation by first telling Benjamin that he's going to "mash his nose," and when Ben dares him to do it, Wynn replies that Ben would "like to get some of that Brad Paisely money" instead... it should be noted that the highlight of Wynn Varble's career is co-writing 3 songs which reached the American Country Music charts #1 position; a single by Darryl Worley, a single by Easton Corbin, and a single by Brad Paisley... it should also be noted that Wynn shared these writing credits with at least 4 or 5 other co-writers... so when you start to break down the likely payouts he received, divided among the contributors, it sounds like Mr. Varble himself would ALSO love to get some of that Brad Paisely money because he's got nickles and dimes to compare it to... his outburst is little more than a self-fulfilling revelation of his own shortcomings and inability to become well known or famous on his own merits... something that Benjamin Todd is actually fulfilling every single day by raking up MILLIONS of youtube views for his own original material; none of which has ever been bought and recorded by sellout corporate country radio shill... point to Benjamin Todd. Wynn Varble is in way over his head. but hey, that's most Boomers to be honest.
My son has rode the rails with him back when he came to Colorado when his girlfriend was in college. I wish this video would have shown him playing!! Absolutely a true singer songwriter.
Ignorance and stupidity never cease to amaze me.. Our country's music would never be what it is with out young men like Mr. Tod.. True warriors pounding our streets, not to be rich.. Free!!
I sure hope the Ben whose music I love today has grown out of that sort of behavior. I far prefer him to commercial country, and I feel the same way about it he does, but telling a person you've never met about their life, and that you're a phenomenon, is pretty silly. I don't see the point.
No this guy was threatening him and got him riled up. This guy is evidently making a tv show and exploiting the soul of Nashville to do it and then threatens a street performer who goes train to train traveling the country to pour out his soul.
To be fair he didn't say he himself was a phenomenon. He said he was a dying phenomenon and all Wynn heard was "phenomenon" and totally missed his point. I can't disagree with Ben saying he's a dying phenomenon. Singer songwriters like him are a rare breed these days. Especially ones that write songs with meaning. I agree he may have lashed out a little but shit, I'd probably respond in a similar fashion to a guy writing shitty songs with Kellie Pickler

Edit: on mobile sorry for typos
Yeah, I get what you mean. But at this stage Ben must've felt at this stage that everybody apart from him was getting a piece of the Nashville pie. Whilst he was putting into it in the old tradition of train hopping, addictions and living your songs every day and we both know Nashville 'suits' don't like like anything too 'real' a push. So Ben just soldiered on he found a way in the end. I just find it funny how young he looks 'Baby rBen.😇. He's certainly grown into himself now both in maturity and size. When I was younger and still busking every day for my few bucks for maybe some food, definitely a bottle. I took myself very seriously too! Thank fuck there wasn't as many phones around back then!🤐. All the best man.
I think they were BOTH wrong here. Ben saying that guy was a fake cos of how he was dressed. And telling him how he never went through anything in life. But it also seems to me that maybe this "cowboy" most likely started the drama.
Well to be fair that guys music is f*cking terrible and it is fake, written by random songwriters, just a guy with a twang wanting to cash in on the all that good country money.
@@sweethann5 His name is Wynn Varble. He is a commercial country singer/songwriter who has written a few songs for artists like Daryl Worley, Brad Paisley, Easton Corbin and a few others. I'm more into artists who write their own songs and tell their own stories about their own lives, like Ben and Ashley. I'm glad Ben stood up to this guy and told him like it was. Men like Guy Clark, Scott H Biram, etc are the exception to for profit labels, standing by the art, reflecting society with interpretations of life, in ways that will live long after their souls leave this earth. Good for you Ben, tons of respect for speaking truth to "power".
If I was there when he asked if we wanted to listen to some real music I would’ve yelled “fuck yeah!”
Wow Ben's such a baby face here back during his train hopping days lol I love itttt
I love you Benjamin. You are authentic! Respect from Bavaria.
I feel bad for people that don’t have the mental capacity to comprehend and appreciate meaningful/relatable music. Benjamin and LDSB sing the truth
Everyone shit talking needs to remember he was still a kid in this. Going through this phase and learning to get his ego in check is part of what makes his music good. This isn’t the same guy that’s around these days.
Shit, he should get knocked out for the hipster garbage he's been making recently. Let alone this little tantrum against singer with less urban clout than he has.
@@grizzlyblackpowder1960 Why don't you do it then? Go find him and fight him yourself. He's got his whole tour listed
@@grizzlyblackpowder1960 I didn’t know hipster were hobos.
@@grizzlyblackpowder1960 the brokeback mountain dude?
oh fuck, you got offended because "country" music you like is about nascar, beer, whiskey, trucks, big fucking hats and partying all day? And anything besides that is hippie? Gtfo
He still picks up and plays. Big respect Benjamin.
Lost dog street band got me back into folk and country music , these fake ass britney spears ass "country pop" personas that the music industry have killed what REAL american folk music was. Ben is bringing it back
I agree with you and I know what you mean but leave poor ol Brittney out of this haha. She was basically held hostage for the majority of her life
Woah woah woah…..leave Britney out of this…
If it plays it pays, and if that seems wrong then WTF are you listening to country for anyways? Might as well listen to some commy pinko grunge emo music whining about what is wrong with the world and how it is not your fault!!.. Just Kiddn, I love Lost Dog too and it is very soulful music that moves my heart!
Still following Benjamin make it big your way !!!
I dont even know who the other guy is. Love Benjamin Tod
Wynn Vrable. He wrote a couple hits. He also sang a homophobic song called I aint going down on Brokeback mountain.
Never heard of a Wynn Varble. I have heard of Benjamin Tod he's great...
Nobody knows the cowboy, that should tell us all something about who is real and who isn't
Get'em Ben, your music is 10xs better than 100% of hairspray music of today's music. That guy ain't even anyone ,anyones ever even heard of!
Ben Todd is a living legend
Benjamin Todd is right. Radio country artists dont even write their own music. It's written by people who think the mainstream will find it "catchy"
Bull. Many dont. But many do. And Brad Paisley who he was trashing does.
I still think "modern" radio country is a disgrace to the origins of country/bluegrass/folk. If Guy Clark, Hank or any other legendary country artist heard this pop country bs they would be disappointed. Not all artists but the majority. Who wants rap pop and hip hop soiling good music?
Country isn't country anymore. It's pop mixed with rap and a generic southern drawl. Fuck modern country.
Allen Glass the reason they’re referring to “Brad Paisley money” is because the fellow in the cowboy hat wrote a couple of Paisleys songs. I’m a fan of Paisley as a guitar player but his songwriting is trash.
@@dalemadelynnnerone7720 Hank wouldn't care. He did it for money.
😁 I am not even a huge country/folk music fan, I found Benjamin’s music a while ago, love it, my man is a legend… Much much respect, it’s wild to see him that young etc. all my best to him and his wife. Much appreciation and love, from Detroit, respect.
Right On Ben and All!! Most honest testimonial on music and life ever...Thank You!
This whole interaction is super cringe.
You mean for both parties, right? No one really comes off well here.
Yea I agree, Ben made some good points, but he came off as a dick. If his music wasn't so good, I'd lose respect for him.
Jon A. Agreed. But this does seem like a while ago I bet he’s done some maturing since then and may have a different take on how he would’ve gone about this interaction.
@@Gnarmac2k Yeah
His attitude is his music. He’s the last dying flame of the American street culture outlaw country. If you don’t like that then he’s not the artist for you
Amazing! I’d love to see what songs they played and the reception. They are one of my all time favourites 👌
“Do I want my nose mashed? What does that even mean?”
Sending tons of love to you and your wife from Canada. We love your true soul music ❤
Very well said
Exactly, everything you said was on point
Boomer? That guy's like 50.
My son has rode the rails with him back when he came to Colorado when his girlfriend was in college. I wish this video would have shown him playing!! Absolutely a true singer songwriter.
I’ve never heard of wynn whatever his name is, but I’ve heard everything Benjamin Tod Flippo has in his discography.
Benjamin Tod has helped me so much threw my life he makes real music no bullshit
Although this interaction may be cringy Benjamin Tod is totally right
Ignorance and stupidity never cease to amaze me..
I agree, judging a book by its cover, not what i thought ben todd was about.
Stfu, really.

I love Ben's music. Solid dude who is true to himself and those in his circle. Respect.
This argument .. not needed. The random guy is just some punk. Ben got caught in moment and probably a bit embarrassed so his emotions went. We all say dumb shit when we are upset or angry. Kudos to him for not throwing hands. Personally , once he threatened to hit me I'd of been like game on bro.
End of the day.. Ben should of just ignored the idiot. But it's always easy being on the outside looking in.

Looks like Lost Dog Street Band was confronted by Warbling Varble
This is why country music is both my favorite and least favorite genre.
I could like this video a million times over!
But who is the other guy? I just wanna know what he be from now. I love Benjamin.
@@sweethann5 His name is Wynn Varble. He is a commercial country singer/songwriter who has written a few songs for artists like Daryl Worley, Brad Paisley, Easton Corbin and a few others. A few of his songs made it to the Country Billboards, a few even making it to #1. I'm more into artists who write their own songs and tell their own stories about their own lives, like Ben and Ashley. I'm glad Ben stood up to this guy and told him like it was. To me this guy was just being a dick because he had a little money and seen some artist who he thought was struggling and looked rugged like they were poor. What he didn't know is the ones he chose are actually more rich in their heart and souls than he ever would be in money. They loved being tramps and hopping trains, living hard and stuff, just to play music and living life. Ironically, Ben and Ashely are now 10 times more popular than this guy ever was. Lol.
