    Very pretty! Is this eglomise/reverse glass method?? If so what did you use to seal the back?

      Thank you, yes it is! A combination of mirror backing paint and backing foil.

    Could you please tell me what kind of an adhesive you were using?
    P.s. I just read in the comments down below that you were using a combination of gelatin capsules and water but may you please tell me the ratio of gelatin to water and also share if it is possible to use regular dry gelatin hydrated in water as I don't think that we have capsules where I live in Bulgaria?
    Many thanks in advance,
    George

      The ratio is 5 capsules to 750ml of water. Not sure about the dry gelatine, but capsules are pretty common and easy to get hold of. Hope that helps!

      1000 gelatin capsules size 00 weigh 125-135mg. 5 capsules will contain 0.625-0.675mg of gelatin.

    moving a bit fast for my eyes.. how do you pick up the leaf and lay it without it breaking or going out of shape??

    • @revivaldecoruk
      @revivaldecoruk  Před rokem

      Thanks for the feedback! The leaf can be picked up by hand as long as you’re gentle with it 👍

    Hi there! What acids work to do this? Is the blue color a result of the acid aging or did you apply paint after the acid etched holes in the gold? Thank you!

    • @revivaldecoruk
      @revivaldecoruk  Před rokem

      Hi! So it’s actually a bit if both, we used verdigris acid which creates the blue/green verdigris colour and then we enhance it with a similar colour paint 👍

    Wonder if this would work on sheets of plastic?

    • @revivaldecoruk
      @revivaldecoruk  Před rokem +1

      I imagine it would stick to it but not sure if the leaf would go as reflective 🤔

    Beautiful piece! What solution did you use to attach the leafing?

    • @revivaldecoruk
      @revivaldecoruk  Před rokem +3

      Thank you, we use a mixture of distilled water and gelatine caps. Once it dries the leaf becomes reflective.

  • @eduardohernandez-fj1fz

    I hope you see this and respond. What kind of Acid did you use to get the effect you got?

    • @revivaldecoruk
      @revivaldecoruk  Před rokem

      Hi Eduardo, you can use different types of acid to many create effects. What I recommend is testing what acid you can buy and experiment with the effects it can create. It’s the best part!

    How do you get the gold reflective like that around 1:35

    • @revivaldecoruk
      @revivaldecoruk  Před rokem

      When it dries it becomes reflective, usually takes around 24 hours

    This is not gold leaf it's imitation of gold.

    • @revivaldecoruk
      @revivaldecoruk  Před rokem +2

      Correct. It’s called Dutch Gold Leaf, made from a combination of copper, zinc and brass. 24ct gold leaves are much smaller and very delicate. We’ll be making some videos using 24ct gold leaf in the near future ✌️
