That second screen is one of the smartest moves I've seen on a phone in a while besides the S6 Edge.
I get so annoyed when I'm watching a youtube video or reading something, and I get a notification that pops up in my face like HEY, HI, YEAH, YOU HAVE A NOTIFICATION THAT YOU NEED TO ANSWER RIGHT NOW. LIKE NOW.
This is a really unobtrusive way to give notifications and it's genius.

Editing, animations, and visual aids (specs) are great. I liked that you're taking your time when you're explaining, unlike other review videos where they're talking too fast. But I wish you could lessen the video time. I think it would help if you're not getting off topic a lot. Keep it up! You're doing great!

+Johnny it really comes down to personal preference. touchwiz or lg ui they are both good devices. however this device seems to have better battery life and front facing camera.

You can get a 9000 battery for this, along with the fatter and heavier phone you desire. Hate is a strong word for a phone where you have the option thin or not, form or function - considering the small number of manu who support removable batteries. Save the hate for sealed devices with shitty batteries, small storage and a lack of storage other than cloud.
I can confirm that the screen is fairly durable. I dropped my case-less V10 face-down about 3-4 feet onto hard concrete as I got out of the car, and the screen didn't receive a single scratch.

I bought that phone last month and I have no complaints. The battery life varies depending on how much you use the phone (as is the case with any cell phone). I'm not on mine every 5 seconds and I'm never on it for consecutive hours so I can go at least 3 days before I need to charge it.
I've had this phone for two weeks and it's even better than I hoped it would be. I Love Love Love this phone!
Great video, thank you for taking the time to be thorough.I had to replace a phone on my account and ended up taking the promotional on the V10. Other than battery life compared to my S5 I love it. Still working through the minor differences between it and the Samsungs I have been in for years, and trying to get it customized for me but I can see how much more functional it is going to be for me working in the construction field.Wish I had been offered color options though instead of just black or white.
That I know of, LG is the only Company left who is keeping the removable battery and storage alive. This will most likely be my next phone. Great review!!
so far, this phone is a beast. the camera is awesome! no blurr, no lag, excellent battery life for the average user, and it's very clear. the screen seems bigger than 5.7" on the standard display because I have that on my G Vista and I put the two beside each other and looked at the screen, Not The Phone size, the Screen, and the display is bigger on the V10. the phone is simply amazing. my wife has small hands and she loves this phone. easy to hold, comfortable, and she said she likes the feel of the V10 better than the feel of her old G2.
Never watched you before but I am impressed. I got the v10 and you sum up everything greatly. I usually watch the huge channels, but I'm sure you will get there. Awesome job! And you aren't boring, your editing is good, and you stick to the point!
I have the V10 now almost 6months .. very nice review work there. i would like to add a bit on to it. I got the android m update, well not a bigger change on the phone software yet; but i don't think the doze feature works. the battery consumption has increased after the update. best selfie camera app for the phone i wud say is B612 app. the phones a superb , best in the market . thanks a lot for reviewing it,,,,,cheers guys...
LG made the effort to include the best DAC and headphone amp on a smartphone and nobody cares. Not even in "detailed" reviews. Anyway, great phone. I'm waiting for the 4.5" 4000 mAh version with a software update. The V6 turbo so to speak. :)
Exactly, I'm new to all this software talk but I know good sound quality when I hear it and the word on the street is that this phone has something no other phone has... I like using spotify to stream music and I like crisp sound without all that faint noise n the background.
+Joegeddon117 Actually, 32bit is needed to get true 24 bit quality. If there is only a 24 bit dac, the 24 bit file would get down converted when traveling through the pci bus to the DAC. Then the DAC brings it back to 24 bit thus you lose the 24 bit quality. When you have a 32 bit dac, it up converts to 32 bit and passes through the pci bus then down converts to 24bit thus maintains the true 24 bit quality.

24bit and 32bit is meaningless in DACs on the listening aspect. Maybe better digital volume.
There are a lot of FLAC and Tidal users who actually use this phone with high end IEM's, now that there's that fix to fool it into activating the HIFI DAC with any player, not just the LG one.

It saved me time and data to watch 1 of your videos that are entertaining and cool then watching 5 others that don't show how the camera really works or how the audio works or cool bits of preferences (The Launcher).

This review is excellent. I absolutely love My Galaxy Note 5. To me nothing else on the market interests me at all except for this LG V10. If it would have been out when I got my Note 5 the decision between the two would have been very difficult. The small in the hand feel of the Note 5 to me is a huge advantage over the V10 and the 6S Plus. However I would feel comfortable using the V10 without a case which may even the size thing out a bit. I think the 2nd screen on the V10 is a big plus and looks well executed.
Was wanting the v10 as soon as I saw it but I waited to see what else came up because I wasn't 100%. After waiting and seeing what came up at the mobile congress of 2016 I'm still finding myself going back to the v10. I currently have a S5 Active and had some issues with it but at the same time I've used and abused the phone and it's seen the elements. Only thing that scares me is the v10 is not water resistant and I therefore will have to insure it for $7 a month for it to be a viable option for me and my rough and active lifestyle. I will keep my s5 active and tbh will probably find myself using it from time to time for its durability depending on the situation. Thanks for the review I will be getting this phone friday

I'm going to check this phone out! 64gb, plus 128gb of storage compared to my 32gb on my Note 5. I really like the camera features as well and the notification screen on top. I was hoping for LG would make a phone like this and they finally have. Time to use my jump on demand with T-mobile.

You missed a huge aspect in the " why buy this phone" 32 Bit DAC up-sampling for audio output. This was a HUGE reason why I got this.
The knocecode is from the lg g3-2 and you can wake up your phone with the knocecode when is turn off you doesn't need to double tap and then do the code...

Good review...I ordered Korean version cause tmobile only sells black color...I really wanted the white gold and they told me that 4g on tmobile will run OK but maybe not lte...other thing was that mobile providers eliminated the head phones and that was another reason I ordered Korean version...I'm think this is an awesome phone with awesome software...

2)I CAN REMOVE THE BATTERY.
3)THEIR LOW PRICED PHONES ARE GREAT STARTER PHONES.
4)BECAUSE THE BATTERY IS REMOVABLE I BUY 2 PHONES OF THE SAME IT ALLOWS ME TO USE ONE WHILE I CHARGE THE SECOND. WHEN THE BATTERY IN THE PHONE I'M USING RUNS OUT I TAKE OUT THE BATTERY AND REPLACE IT WITH THE ONE BEING CHARGED ON THE SECOND PHONE.
6)SINCE I BUY 2 OF THE SAME, IT ALSO ALLOWS ME TO USE THE SECOND AS AN INSURANCE POLICIE. IF I DROP MY FIRST PHONE I CAN REPLACE IT WITH THE SECOND ONE.

If I dident just buy my Note 5 I def would of got the V10. I had an G4 when it first launched & that had a bad ass camera, great phone So I could just imagine the V10. My favorite feature is the apps that swipe across on top of the screen. I love phones and computers. I've tried just about every phone out there & I just became a developer for windows 10

I prefer stock android, too, but I have to say that LG has some nice added features. Enough for this phone to be the next for me over the Nexus 6p and Droid Turbo 2.
Good review. I was able to learn about the camera also. I do not have this 'smart settings' feature you found on your phone. Could it be a Korean thing?
I felt this phone in the store the other day, it feels just as premium as my HTC M9, I also rock the G Flex 2 and this V10 feels so much more significant, I love LG but I prefer stock Anroid or HTC's Sense, Samsung and LG's UI's are just a tad bit to laggy at times for me.
yeah the ui is heavy rather use stock but the new nexus 6p is Huawei and I'll be damned if I buy chinese God knows what backdoors are built into this thing and the chinese obsession with spying and copying no thanks.
Fab review, I've got a limited edition black leather and gold accents model. It's for the Hong Kong market, shares the majority of the antennas with the UK networks, works fine here. Looks badass as fuck.

You should enable Smart Lock. With Smart Lock there are other cool options to unlock your phone besides your finger print. For example you can set a location like your home or work and the phone knows via gps no to lock. Or you can us Facial recognition..

Great review - thanks ... but now I returned my V10 after 2 weeks of usage because:
- not same brightness level of screen as other premium cellphones
- no water resistance at all (makes the MIL-STD-810 resistance rating somehow obsolete). E.g. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is way better protected against water
- battery with 3000 mAh too weak for the size and weight
- device is very heavy and bulkier than competitors
- no wireless charging (yet)
- lots of overexposed photos. Especially all green (wood, grass) looks way to bright and leaves some cheap photo impression. Problem existed already on LG G4, but no solution in sight
- auto brightness not adjustable and way too dark
- kept same old CPU and camera from LG G4. CPU and GPU's are outdated.
- soft-menu / back buttons instead of hard-buttons: sometimes they completely disappear and they wast lots about 10% of the screen!
- phone sometimes does not wake up again at all - even with double-tipping volume
- auto-brightness sometimes go to 0 brightness even in the sun. Not possible to enter a code or pattern and not possible to adjust the brightness manually.
- screen colors are really bad when at full brightness
- zooming into photos does work, but zoom out does not properly work.
- there's no adjustment for photo resolution and JPG quality / compression, which is unbelievable poor for a company which stress the quality of their device
- fingerprint sensor is very poor. Recognition takes forever if working at all
- on / off (fingerprint-sensor) in the back does NOT work for me at all. I have my phone most of the time beside my laptop and have to turn all the time
- Volume up/down on the back is a pain. If you have a flip-cover you can't adjust sound volume while talking on the phone. Very bad
Sorry guys ... I actually hated Samsung for voiding my Note II and liked to buy a LG, but no way ... I'm going to Samsung again.
Hello there! I just watched your review on the LG V10. I love this phone and was glad to hear that you also use NOVA Launcher with it. I do have one quick question for you. I am having issues with the Interruptions in Notifications and Sounds. It comes on with no issues at 10:00 p.m. but most days it won't shut itself off at 8:30 a.m. the following morning. I have to physically go and end it five days out of seven. Did you have this issue with NOVA Launcher? Also, the double tap to lock the phone doesn't work with NOVA for me. I am just curious if you experienced those same issues as well. Thank you!

There's an old app called cover that uses a corner of your screen to slide down your recent apps and switch to them quickly. Opinion wise for the topic of app switching I'd rather use cover than have a second screen and having your notifications always displayed is pretty unwelcome to me.

i just bought the LGV10 and i love it. the only thing i didn't like was the fact that it'll get too hot when fast charging. i would freak out cuz i didn't know it was Normal. other than that I'm loving the phone :)

2 crucial pieces of information missing here:
- resolution (you maybe mentioned it but I can't find it)
- does it support wireless charging like the G3? (in my opinion very important)
+Khogn TM Not right now out of the box but LG did confirm that wireless charging capability is coming (via additional accessories like a new back cover or something like that).
no wireless charging in board but there will be back panels available with wireless charging. However the phone comes with quick charging

I like the second screen, it almost works like a Windows task bar. I just wish they would have put it at the bottom instead of the top.
the second screen is not always on ,only when light hits the senseres if you cover them the srean turns off like in your poket.
I own the LG V10 and overall it's a really great phone. I do have some major problems with lag on certain websites. Also, I am a gamer and this phone does not work playing World of Tanks Blitz. I'm sure that it's just a software thing because my previous S5 worked quite well. I'm not a camera person so that doesn't matter too much for me. The resolution is awesome and so is the design compared to y e G4. I liked your review. Thank you for your time.

+NeRo Kozi As far as World of Tanks Blitz, it will not work at all. I'm not sure why. I downloaded the game and I can even go to the garage but every time I try to start a mission it fails. I even set all of my graphics to low and took off HD texture. Still it won't play. As far as lag, I was wrong. It was my Internet connection. Sorry about that. I have T-mobile and as everyone knows, T-mobile sucks after a certain point of Data. I do have unlimited 4g Lte but I'm at about 50 gbs so it's not the phone. I tried playing World of Tanks Blitz on my Samsung Galaxy S5 again and it played perfect so I don't know what the deal is. The LG V10 is still far better than the S5. I do remember when I first got the S5, it didn't play World of Tanks Blitz either. World of Tanks Blitz is about to do an update so I'll keep you all informed.

How about battery life? how's that working out for you, not sure whether to get the Note 4 or get this.. but my main thing I'm looking for is no lag and good battery life! Do you play clash of clans haha? cause I'm interested to know how long the battery lasts while playing that. From looking at some reviews and just tracking the time and percentage changes the battery really doesn't seem very good at all. seems to drop from 80%-60% in 20mintues or so. What do you think bro?
+NeRo Kozi I haven't really tested it as far as that goes but I do download movies, pictures, and gifs and it last a good while. I'm not sure as far as gaming goes. I do play a game called Vainglory and Hero's of Order and Chaos and it lasts for about 3-4 hours on a full charge. You do have to take in the fact of the screen size and the 515 ppi. I signed up for the promotional thing that's going on with this phone and they are supposed to be sending me another battery and a 200 gb sd card and something else. I still haven't heard anything on it. If your that worried about battery life than you can always buy another battery on Amazon for next to nothing. Also, if you don't have big hand, I don't recommend this phone. That's just me though.
Collin Carter My hands are small af lmao, I'm only 16 and have the hand size of a 10 year old hahaha, I have had my mindset on a note 4 for like a week now, I've even bought one already (got partially scammed though so didn't receive it) but now I'm having second thoughts because some people say Touchwiz is laggy af and the note 4 actually has quite shit battery life (which I find very odd, because other people say it has amazing battery life) so I really don't know what to do. Both v10 and note 4 have removable batteries, so I guess that works regardless of my choice. Do you manage to get through a whole day from a single charge?
