The Fast franchise was never about racing. It was about cops hunting down street gangs and criminals for their crimes. Yes, the racing parts of the movie were fun to watch. But The Fast franchise was not about street racing.

From what I read years ago shortly after Paul died, the only reason they continued making them was because Paul himself helped out with parts of the story for up to 10 movies. So they wanted to honor his legacy by making all 10 movies.
This being said, this was stated by the director or producers or something like that so may have just been false information to have a reason to keep making cash grabs. Which as likely as that is, would be a disgusting manipulation of Paul's legacy, and they would easily put themselves if they went past 10 movies.

It's really hard, hard to believe what happened to Paul! To go out like he did was truly truly unfair and unbelievable at the same time. I still get choked up when I see that story and a cold chill when I really think about it. The guy was such a good dude! Only after his death I learned of his charity organization and how he would go with his members and help people hands on.... He was a real hero.
Hell we need people In the world like this, it's really a damn shame this guy was taken from us! 😔
