I believe Masashi Hamauzu composed most of FFX's soundtrack along with Uematsu. This is also his work :)

What I love about this fight is that it actually requires skill and thought to win. All the other enemies and bosses throughout the game can mostly be defeated by just mashing the attack button with Cloud without really needing to switch to other party members, but ironically in this fight Cloud is easily the weakest member to use and you constantly have to switch between party members. Everyone is so important to the fight, losing just one member will put you at a serious disadvantage

I know what you mean, usually its acase of elemt materia with elemental and your gonna be rippin through most enemies!!! ITs still fun to swing Clouds Buster sword though. This fight is defo not geared for Cloud, hes only really useful in the last phase but Aerith can easily do that and so can Tifa actually she staggers this guy for a joke!! If you want a challenge try and do a OG run 😂😂😂 I managed to beat Scorpian Guard eventually but man i had to cheat and equip Heal on 😂😂😂
The constant electric guitar in the background really fits bahamut idk why

I know that the composer for FFVIIR is the same guy that did the XIII trilogy (Masashi Hamauzu) so it's kinda obvious but this theme and the new Weiss theme rendition give especially huge FFXIII vibes... and I love it!
I've yet to hear Weiss bgm so I'll be looking forward to that
Infinity’s End is another strong FF13 vibe. I have long for the good old days when I play an FF game and the music gets me into the mood, and I can say that happens a lot during FF7R, and most of it are from the new tracks. FF14 is another great collection of awesome music. Modern Japanese Square is really in touch with what make them popular.

One of my favorite original themes in the Remake, yet so underrated. Masashi Hamauzu is a fucking god.
He did a hellava of job!!! Imagine having to compose some official music for one of the biggest games ever and fill Nobuo Uematsu shoes urf he smashed it!!
Well, he more or less took over the reins of main composer after Uematsu left Square. Then Hamauzu left it too, and was reunited with Uematsu and Mitsuto Suzuki for VII Remake. So many legends together.
I know not everyone agrees, but I never liked Masashi. Always found his style repetitive and never liked the fact that he doesn't use much melody. To me, he's hard to listen to.

After fighting Bahamut I can only see this as his theme. The fight with Eligor was awesome but not as epic as fighting the king of the sky. Something about it in his fight gives you a sense that your fighting for your life as well as a chance to obtain such a powerful summon. Every time I hear it now I think of his countdown to Megaflare.

This theme is so dark and a little edgy that's it's fitting considering Elgor looks like it was created by an angsty 14 year old.

I mean...it's okay. But many people here said this was also Bahamuts theme?
I dunno, it's kinda mid, no offense to anyone liking it. Just my opinion on it, I don't personally hate it, like, don't get me wrong.
But using this theme twice lessens the impact of it playing in the battle against the final summon boss, the god of all Summons Bahamut, like it's just reused from the eligor fight, you don't even get your own theme you just re-use the thing we used for one random scrap-boss.
On top of that it doesn't really sound that imposing or grandiose.
Again, no offense to anyone liking it, I would have just expected a bit more from *THE* FF7 remake. You know, at least original Themes for the bosses and not reusing some of the OST to cut corners. Kinda sad tbh.

I'm sure from the comments Weiss got his own but it is dlc i suppose but i guess this is were it showed potentially some corner cuts of some sort because all the battle music in Chadleys is reused stuff basically but i agree. I even have an Eligor 1 hour special planned with Bahamut showcasing instead cos I dont think it suits Eligor cos hes just a regular monster made into a boss for remake yet he gets a pretty hyped bgm 🤷 and he's busted lol once his wheels are gone he just repeats the same attack pattern 🤣🤣
I think it's a banger though i feel its very imposing when you first face Bahamut and don't know what to do although i feel like even having a Bahamut fight in remake 1 is abit early
I don't like Masadhi Hamauzu's style, because most of his tracks sound the same. This sounds like a few tracks from FFX. Also don't like that this and many of his other tracks aren't that much reliant on melody and are repetitive.

I personatly greatly enjoy this music because the sheer drums and insistence of the music to form a same pattern create an impressive tension about the fight.
Which song does this sound like? If he's so repetitive, point out a track that sounds just like this one. Hamauzu is an excellent composer.
Having been doing these extended tunes and listening to them over and over and over again 😂😂😂 i can see what some people are saying, some of the (cue very shit attempt at describing music ever) like background beats? rhythms? subtle backing sounds? song rhythms? are very similar to one another. I can hear like similar sounding instrument? / sound? that have been used in other ff songs being used as well in some songs (I have nooo music vocab whatsoever...) Like yeah you get the stuff in the fore front that differ but the beats in the background seem very similar to other ff songs with some of the songs anyways. "Fight for Survival" at one bit sounds very much like FFX Boss Fight, and in some bits a bit like Snows theme in a way with the Guitar rifts is an example for me anyways. Like I'm still enjoying them though but when you get an insight into a persons like play book I can see why some people arent feeling it.
I think Mashashi's done extremely well. I could never fill in as a FF composer after Nobuo Uematsu lol and in like tracks like this one for example hes a made an original sounding track thats catchy, awesome and intense. First time hearing this vs Bahamut shit made me feel very on edge and nervous, I dunno if having a friggin magic dragon kickin the shit out of me had anything to do with it but it gives me goosebumps and kinda still does lol someone mentioned above it sounds abit like ff13 eidolon fight and i can hear bits of it, (like some of the softer drum bits) but hey regardless i still love this track, played COD with this on and I swear it improved my concentration by 200%!!
Well not everyone can be a Masayoshi Soken at square. But Hamauzu is pretty good and happy to have him on the team.
