He said in the video he's tested them for 7 months, I think 7 months of riding on one pair of tubes is pretty decent. The patches seem to work really well. Not a bad way to save 100g or more if you normally use regular tubes

They are significantly lighter than butyl tubes, so of course they roll better. The outside edge of your wheel is the best place to lose weight on a wheel.

Thanks! I really like the light weight and small pack size. Looks interesting. Will buy a pair and a spare to try out. Very very nice with the small pack size in the saddle bag...
At least they say that they are more puncture resistant. I wouldn't give much credit to "have ridden them for a while and had one puncture and they aren't any more puncture resistant than other tires", to be fair, lol. That feels very anecdotal. Punctures depends on where you ride and luck. Maybe you would have had 10 punctures during those 7 months with butyl, or maybe you wold have zero, in the same situations.
But the low weight and small pack size is a huge plus for me.

Why is the plastic stem a problem, if you know anything about plastics then you will know that no damage will occur. PVC plastic is brittle in the cold if you hit it with a hammer, hit Polypropylene with a hammer and it will bounce off!

I have used S-Tubo at 24g for 2 years on my road bike with GP4000, and I had 1 puncture. Saving me 30g per wheel compared to Maxxis Flyweight / Continental Supersonic. The real question for road application is how the rolling resistance is versus tubeless.?

2023 May. Just installed my AUD$8.50 TPU tubes @40grams each VS my AUD$7.50 Butyl tubes @110grams each. Keen to see if in the 4yrs since that the Chinese mass produced version gives me what I was hoping for. GOAL. to have "race light" tubes on my crit bike that dont puncture on the ride to/from the crit track. I've noticed that the TPU feels a little better on the out of seat climbs, as in I climbed faster on a given climb than I have recently. Will be interested to see what the crit brings this weekend.

When these Tubolito's came on the market a few years ago I bought a pair to ride MTB on the Canary islands and it costed me a small fortune. So on the island I installed the Tubo's (and i know what I'm doing. First ride: gravel, rocks modest climb and decent. WITHIN 20 minutes the back Tubolito gave up. No punctures but just torned. And that for 40 euro's Per Tubo. It was a complete disaster. Even thin ultralight butyl tubes lasted on the same trails for more than two days 'till they completely exploded. Shure I got my money back for the pair after complaining about the lies in the advertisement. (2,5 times stronger than butyl) . Note: At that time Schwalbe had taken their version of these type of tube of the market and for a reason. Pffff this was just a complete disaster. Now after a few years the Chinese versions are cheap and I will try those and see if they will hold but Tubolito's I say it was just a scam at that time. (to early on the market ? )

I have the schrader valve version. It’s metal and 2 parts. 1 tire went flat and I couldn’t find the hole. It was the stem leaking which I heard they are notorious for. They also are more prone to flats I’ve found. Worse is that the company doesn’t respond. It’s a red flag and i would steer clear of the brand. I’m not sold on tpu.
I also felt they didn’t roll better. I notice when using better lighter tires I can feel a difference. These I couldn’t notice any change. I would spend it on tires.

I read somewhere that they tend to give you less catastrophic flats ie the air releases less quickly. That is intriguing to me.
I wish the guy posting the video would have touched on this, but I suspect the fact that he didn’t suggests that he had quick blowouts when he punctured.
I find this a big benefit of tubeless tires with sealant vs tubes. I have rarely seen a puncture on a tubeless setup where all of the air was released very quickly, and most of the times I’ve gotten a bad puncture running tubeless, I was able to ride home just topping off every ten minutes or so.
