Thank you for the product review. I have a Vitamix VM0103 (5200) that I've been using now for 32 years. It still runs well for me. I have used it several times a week for all of those years. I have also used a friends Blendtec Classic 575 and found that both work very well. I believe either will give you great results with a little experience. Both companies have recommendations on how to load the blender. If you follow those recommendations you should get good results with either. The one thing I do like using with the Vitamix is the tamper when working with nearly frozen product, but not everyone is into using the tamper. In regards to sound levels both are loud, but I think the Vitamix is louder. I place my Vitamix on a piece of 1" thick rubber floor tile instead of directly on the tile counter top and that seems to help lower the noise for me.
Anyway I feel both companies produce stellar products and would welcome either brand into my kitchen. If your looking at either product check out each companies certified refurbished models. I purchased a Vitamix refurb as a gift for a friend and it is still working well for them 7 years later.
I love my Blendtec 800 - quiet elegance and my neighbors appreciate it also; I am a considerate, quiet neighbor while enjoying my Blendtec, lovingly referred to as my quiet kitchen beast.
Great video and comparison. I have the Vitamix 750 myself and love it, but have not tried soup in it, yet. I will now. Knew I had to subscribe when I saw the t-shirt!
I have both- my trusty Blendtec and then I got a new vitamix for Christmas last year and I can honestly say they are both excellent blenders, I love them both, I love that the blendtec does not need a tamper where the vitamix does. I have made peanut butter in both and both come out very smooth. My old blendtec has a soup setting and it works great!
We own a ten year old Vitamix and it does indeed work great, but as you stated, it is LOUD, sounds like I'm standing next to a F-16 during afterburner test. Thanks for the real world testing.
I had all 3 of those blenders and they all perform good. vitamix is probably the best overall if you factor in quality but I prefer the blendtec
@@SKRUBL0RD the warranty is good for vitamix and blendtec, 8-10 years. some of the cheap models are 3-5 years. oster is like 1-5 years depending on the model I think
Why do you prefer the Blendtec? I'm looking to vacuum blend, and I'm struggling to pick the right blender.
@@MrTrincent first off, blendtec does have a vacuum blend attachment but the reason I pick blendtec over vitamix is because it's more compact(fits under the kitchen cabinets), it has two blades and wider jar so it's easier to clean by hand. It's more automatic with the buttons, it makes better icy drinks such as fraps better than the vitamix imo, and it has more power. the vitamix is probably more sturdy and built better with more quality than the blendtec but I like the blendtec better overall
Really great comparison and review. Just what I needed! Think I might go for blendtec especially since they have a sound dampening cover and Vitamix is indeed too large for my counter space.
I had a horrible time with Blendtec. I sent it back and it was a bitch to get my money back
Lol I don’t have money to buy all these toys but im subscribing bc I enjoy your guys personality 😅
Big diff is with Vitamix, you can put raw vegetables in and 7 min later, cooked fresh creamy soup
Interesting comparison. I have a Vitamix and the only thing I don't like is the narrow container at the bottom. Making a smoothie is no big deal, but something like hummus is a royal pain in the butt. It takes a lot of time and effort to get all the mixture out of the narrow bottom around the blades. The wider Blendtec should be much better in this regard. And someone should invent a QUIETER blender!
Vitamix makes a special spatula that is very long and skinny. It gets around the blades to get ingredients out of the container. There are two types and both work very well. I have the Heritage Pro 750 Vitamix and I love it. It came with the wider container but I ended up buying the taller, skinny container for smaller amounts.
I'm pretty much done with Oster these days. I was kinda expecting some seeds in the Smoothie test. I would probably buy the more expensive one after all my years of replacing cheap ones. Plus most they've seemed to last forever for people I know. If I found I Did not have the money for a more expensive blender I would probably be looking at a mid-level priced one.
Blendtec has an 8 year warranty. They're replaced my jar twice and they have great customer service.
What happened to the 10 second test on the Oster and Vitamix?
As you saw, the 10 second test made the almonds into powder lol. We decided that was too much, and changed it to the 3 pulses. Thanks for watching! - J
@@TheAverageKitchen Yeah but what if 10 seconds on a blendtec/vitamix actually gives you the consistency you want where the Oster may never reach the consistency wanted/needed
That's possible. We just thought it was too much. Thanks for watching. - J
Those cheaper blenders might do well for a few months then they go to crap, because their cheap motors and plastic gears don't last long . Also, too hot destroys all the vitamins / nutrients at that high velocity.
Destroys the Vitamins? You mean Vitamix? I use mine all the time for hot foods and it is fine. Maybe you meant something else. :))
@@pippadawg7037
I meant what I said. The velocity destroys the nutrients/vitamins ,not the same as cooking over a stove to heat food up. Look it up.
Blenders are not meant to whip cream. If you want that, Vita-Mix makes a blade disc for that.
I would suggest adding rows to indicate what test you are doing eg smoothies, nuts, whipped creme and soup, etc. That way when you’re comparing you or your audience can see what exactly each machine can or cannot do. And, at the end show the graph to see which product or machine did or did not excel at certain tasks. It helps me to see comparisons this way, therefore just a suggestion.
I own a Vitamix 750 Pro. Bought directly from Vitamix for $399 on Black Friday. It has a 7 year warranty, and Vitamix pays shipping both ways. Next to my KitchenAid mixer, probably the best kitchen appliance I own. INSANELY loud, though.
Lucky you! I paid 600 for the same blender just one year before they introduced the Accent which I now want.
I've had both the Blentec and the Vitamix I traded my Blendtec in for a Vitamix because I was scared the Blendtec was going to vibrate off my counter.
I have had a Blentech and it is a very good blender it’s not as good as a vitamix on the vitamix mine has a smoothie setting but you need to use the tamper and use speed 10 it will out perform the Blendtech it’s made to run on high speed
I'm looking for a blender capable of blending black beans, rice, and onions to make veggie burgers.
Can anyone suggest one.
It doesn't need to have a load of functions as I already have a liquids blender and soup maker.
And not expensive, please!
I think maybe you need a food processor instead of a blender? - J
As a vegan, I can tell you that you don't want a blender.
For that you need a food processor. Run it in the food processor and then finally mix it with a hand mixer. A blender will turn it into nasty sludge.
I second a food processor, spoiler alert even though I am a blendtec fan but I also worked for them for over 10 years then retiring.
I smashed with old potatoe masher, then used stick blender here and there in the bowl, great texture for veg burgers. Yum
I purchased the Vitamix for half the price of the Blendtec. How is the Oyster guarantee? The Vitamix has a 7 yr guarantee.
Blendtec warranties currently (Jan. 2023) show range from 1 - 10 years depending on model.
Blendtec dropped their prices a few years back to b cheaper than the Vitamix. Unfortunately, that cost cutting affected the quality of materials which is why the reduced warranty. (There are several vitamix models that have pre-programmed buttons)
most people use blenders for smoothie , milk shake and frozen smoothie. blentec is best for all of these Vitamix does soup better .
Fill the jugs half way for the tests. You can't just put a tiny amount in and expect anything meaningful to come from it.
please we want a smoothie comparison between ninja and vitamix
Ninja can't compete with Vitamix. I have both and Vitamix is the far superior blender. If you have the money, go with the Vitamix, if not, the Ninja is pretty good.
Why would you want that? The plastic Ninja will never do what the Vita-Mix does.
I have a Blendtec and it is perhaps the worst kitchen product I've ever owned at any price. It won't even make a smoothie without many many attempts. It just creates an air bubble underneath the material over and over. I have to add so much liquid that by the time I get it to finish the cycle I have a glass full of watery, tasteless colored fluid.
My experience couldn't be more different. Weird how that works. - J
Try the seed test to see which machine does it better. I bet that the Vitamix does it better!
I don’t have a lot of experience with other blenders, but I have not had a good experience with this one. I work at a technical school, and we have a ProStart Restuarant Management. Recently we were catering an event. I was tasked with making whipped ricotta. The Blendtec Blender that we have couldn’t even do that. It kept overheating and the smell was horrible. As a result, the blended ricotta began to curdle, and the blender kept shutting off. I do not know the details around this Blender, but I was told that it was not very old and had only been used a couple times. I hope that this is just happening to this particular blender because we are in need of more blenders and would like to stay with Blendec because it is a good name and I have heard, a good brand. However, if this is the result, it is not worth the money.
Vitamix DOES have cleaning instructions!
I don't think we doubted that it has cleaning "instructions", rather we said it has no cleaning "function". Thanks for watching! - J
Camerawork is brutal. Why all the focus on the Dude and not the blenders? Bailed after about 5 minutes.
We're just amateurs learning as we go. Thanks for the positive feedback! - J
Rule #1 about product review, zoom out and display the actual product in action, and not your face.
Hopefully we've improved to meet that standard. Thanks for watching! - J
experiments are terrrible. u have to actually cover the blade on each of the blenders. you didn't even have the milk touch the blendtech blades lol. please don't do anyone science homework.
@@TheAverageKitchenBest response to a nasty, poorly written comment. I, on the other hand, appreciated your DIY experiments. I recently ordered a Blendtec 575 and your video makes me feel that much better about my decision.
This video was poorly executed. You are doing comparisons and the camera is focused on the guy rather than the blenders and half the time I don't know which brand you are talking about. I stopped watching after a few minutes. Too bad for you.
Too bad for us? We're just a couple of amateur guys making videos, doing our best. Thanks for the support! - J
@@TheAverageKitchenhave you guys recovered yet, from garden gal leaving the video early? My family learned of this tragedy and is reeling
Watched your video on the Vitamix A2300. Dude you need to READ the instructions! The blender was fine, it was YOU! USE the tamper through the lid opening with thick blends. You need to blend more than TEN seconds. An average smoothie takes at least 30 seconds to a minute. I was appalled how you treated that poor blender. You should have got one with programs if you can't read the instructions. I hope you finally learned how to use this awesome machine. Vitamix blenders are the best on the market and it was entirely YOUR fault for the poor results. Please read the instructions and/or watch instructional videos on CZcams before operating a high powered Vitamix blender.
@@TheAverageKitchen Thank you. Hope you enjoy your Vitamix. Can't tell you how happy I'm with mine. Eating real food is so important and there is so much you can do with this appliance. Thank you for responding.

Are there any energy Star certified blenders?
Not sure. If they were, I'm sure they would say so on the packaging. - J
