  • Microplastics in Testicles and What Can We Do?
Microplastics and nanoplastics are plastic particles smaller than 5 mm. These particles enter our body through air, food, water, and skincare products. These particles are not filtered out by the wastewater treatment systems, eventually to return to us. Let's review a study demonstrating the evidence of microplastics and nanoplastics in men and dog's testicles. We will also review a study that demonstrates how to remove these particles from water.

These plastics are in rivers in MASSES. I was part of a research group that conducted a study about plastic in our rivers. It‘s insane!
Since then I don‘t buy anything with microplastic/plastic beads ( no cosmetics, skin care products, no daily use products), there‘s still too much plastic getting to the environment even w/o that crap used in cosmetics, skin care etc. I don‘t get why microplastics are sooo common in products where plastic is not needed AT ALL. What for in skin care? It can‘t do any good to the skin!! So it must be used for other reasons! If you look at the ingredients of skincare products: many are full w that! Acrylates, styrenes in many different combound variations and others, I don‘t remember all but have a list somewhere. It‘s crazy, the bigger plastics are bad enough in rivers, soil etc but even food and skincare, toothpaste etc is full with microplastics although it‘s known that it‘s not good for nature and our bodies!
But I have to add that these kind of study or rather sharing the results widely looks like possible distraction too from sth else;) Studies w microplastics have been done for a long time, this is not new ( the correlation or strong indication of correlation), so I wonder why now, without more precise questions and answers/results. But we‘ll see what‘s next, what kind of studies/results are done around the world the next few years.. Probably depends on sth else than we would normally assume but we don‘t live in normal times, so let‘s wait and see!

@@andhewonders Yes that is a huge source, true, but there we had no choice bc almost all water repellent clothes contain such compounds and mixed synthetic fabrics in shirts, pants etc too. But cosmetics without plastic is available. It‘s not just about the water but we add that stuff to our skin on top of what we give our body to absorbe by drinking contaminated water, food and wearing those clothes, so I decided to use natural skin care and I mean natural, not products where it says 98% of natural origin bc that says nothing, origin is origin, not final product, so look at the ingredients to find out whats in it if you want to avoid harmful products. I mean I‘m sure in natural products there are microplastics too from the masses in the environment, so even in a pure plant oil in a glass bottle there would be plastic found if tested but at least no added compounds on top of that.
For washing clothes there‘s a bag available that is collecting the plastic parts during washing cycle. I have this bag but i‘m a bit sceptic, the bag itself seems to be a synthetic material that must contain plastic compounds but if you put in several raincoats and wash them in the bag it might still help to collect more than without. The bag is called „guppy friend“.

Seems almost unavoidable at this point to evade exposure, so the better option should be figuring out what can help break these down within the body, so that they don’t accumulate and cause problems long term. Thank you Dr. Drbeen for this important information. At 17:50, I question if in the case of those who had higher concentrations of Micro and nano plastic particles of plastics in their tissues, and also suffered from a several fold increases in cancer, heart disease and IBS, might be due to a diet of harmful, inflammatory processed foods also contained higher levels of nano-plastic particles, and due more to be more due to diet than the plastic particles, and if that should be part of follow-on studies?
What you relate takes me back to the 1990's when a friend, with a PHD in Chemistry and Master's in engineering who had a water quality testing lab and water treatment engineering consulting company, said that he had found evidence of trace amounts of polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride in municipal water samples, and a colleague had found what he believed to be micro plastic particles using Polarized light microscopy and suspected even smaller particles might be in drinking water that could enter the bloodstream and be of a health risk.
With the experience I had in water-treatment I'm wondering if resin bead media such as used in water softeners and and home water purifying filters might be effective in removing plastic particles from boiled or un-boiled water. Or, if it might be possible to apply a charge to plastics in the water to remove them using ion-exchange media, or reverse electrical charge, or simply super filtration such as reverse Osmosis ?
