sorry but the terrible communication between a father and daughter is the most realistic part of any nancy drew game ever
"It's loch-ed" would have been brilliant
I liked this game, but I thought that there were definitely a lot of things that they could've cleared up. I can't wait to see The Shattered Medallion get ripped to shreds.
Yassss.
Wonder how long that video will be. Maybe an hour!
@@aquafire777 Are You A Snake?
@@sarahdonahue6760 Like Everyone else I'm also going to have to agree that The Shattered Medallion is A Terrible Game that seems like The Entire Game was rushed through production even The so-called Villain reveal makes absolutely no sense since Nancy never betrayed Keira She betrayed Nancy for no reason at all
It's spelled Yes not Yassss @@aquafire777
To me, the biggest problem with this game is Moira. She flat out *tells* Nancy she told her mother a lie which led to getting her killed and *she isn't sorry!* And she gets NO punishment for this whatsoever! It makes me wish Moira was the culprit because then at the least she'd go to jail. And Ewan was a pretty weak culprit choice, anyway.
Also, Alec didn't give up chasing the suitcase thief after a second, the game just cut to later when he didn't catch up to the guy.
"Is no one going to trip him? This is a free pass! Don't worry, I'm a professional!" I can just picture the guy yelling this in the booth
0:37 A random person from revenant stole Nancy’s suitcase. Alec was to pretend to go get the thief to build rapport with Nancy, but really he was going to help go through it later to snag any clues that might be in it. Nancy said “that’s a nice offer” because he had offered to “get that guy”.
I feel like they could've done so much more with this game and they just didn't. I still don't really understand why Kate HAD to die. She had barely set foot in Scotland when she did.
I just wish they gave us clearer answers and didn't beat around the bush. I understand everyone is a spy and they're supposed to keep secrets but the game should've given us more opportunities to figure said secrets out
I always wished we had more closure for Alec's sister.

*My rant*
This game, personally, let me down. I really wanted to find out what, where, specifically who, how, and why about Kate's death. We only learn why she was killed. Moira worked right alongside Kate, but we barely hear anything of great importance from her other than backstory. I expected to get more interesting spy details. She was my favorite character though. Ewan was a horrible culprit and inconsistent. There were various more ways that he could have stopped Nancy if he was working for Revenant. I think the game designers were on the edge of deciding to make him a normal suspect or villain, and they randomly decided villain. Why? "Because they CAN?!" Zoe as Samantha Quick was probably the biggest disappointment. They didn't even sound alike and I was really interested in Samantha Quick being a bigger reveal. I liked Alec and he was the only one that didn't disappoint me. I also wanted to be more interactive as a spy. Phantom of Venice had more spy-like elements if you think about it. That's my rant. I did like the puzzles and learning about the connection between Nancy and her mom, though. I don't hate the game, but more could have been done.
I was just about to make a comment, but honestly, this sums up my exact feelings about this game. I was really looking forward to Nancy doing spy stuff, and it just didn't deliver on it. Also, the Samantha Quick thing was a complete let down. Honestly, that one call from Samantha in Phantom of Venice was way more interesting than anything they did with her in this game.
Agreed! I was EXTREMELY disappointed and very confused on what this mystery even was. I was so excited for this game because I thought we would find out who murdered her mom. What did Ewan do exactly? I got so confused on what we were even solving. We didn’t even catch Revenant and Nancy just did their dirty work. Huge disappointment
You know Samantha Quick was using a voice modulator, right?
@@MissCookieThief Yes unlike The Phantom of Venice this Game's Spy stuff just feels like Nancy is running around doing random stuff for most of The Game even I still like The Silent Spy it could have been A lot better and Ewen saying because I can is one of The stupidest excuses for A Culprit I think that having Moria being The Culprit would have been A lot better since She did lie to Kate and get Her killed and She doesn't show that She is sorry about that happening at all despite She is supposed to be One of Kate's best Friends
@@englishatheart Yes so in other words She is The Female version of Jigsaw from The Saw Movies but Her voice disguise is no where as creepy as The voice used by The Kidnapper in The Final Scene
To this day, still disappointed by the Samantha Quick reveal. They set her up as some sort of cool badass, but it turns out she's just one of Zoe's aliases? The best reason I can think of is that they just *completely* replaced the *whole* writing team between her appearances, and the new people just didn't give a damn.
I know, right? Samantha's bio in Treasure on the Tracks made her sound awesome! And now? She's a grumpy cynical buzzkill who wears too much make-up. They really shot themselves in the foot with that one.
I like to think that Nancy started a trend in VEN where other spies steal the real SQ's alias to annoy her. Like the theory that James Bond is a constant code name that multiple agents have used.
I like that theory a lot more than her being the "real" Samantha.
@@thecardish Her Makeover is Smoking Hot
@@jackgarrison8497 Fine man, whatever floats your boat.
"Ewan's shirt" what a truth XD
Are we going to ignore the fact that the ten raven pub was reused from game 19, Haunting of Castle Malloy? The screaming banshee looks EXACTLY like the Ten Raven Pub
Can people please stop claiming people are ignoring something and just talk about it? I mean, what is the purpose of comments like that other than hoping someone gives you attention by commenting on it.
This game had so many feels...
she is old enough to move out but i'm sure she probably can't afford it since she spends sooo much money on plane tickets and such!
She doesn't pay anything to travel. She gets paid to travel. I doubt she's paid for anything in these games. Even if she did, her father's rich, so they're not hurting for money. Plus, maybe, just maybe, she likes living at home. Maybe her dad likes having her home since Kate died. Not everyone is such a twat to their kids and expects them to move out the moment they turn 18. Hell, many families live together for life. Nothing wrong with that.
@@englishatheart I think the point more was Nancy could move out of she doesn't like her dad telling her what to do. Y'know, "My roof, my rules" sort of thing
@@DestinyKiller You can like living with someone and still not like them telling you what to do. 🙄
@@englishatheart Carson Drew was such An Asshole in this Game sorry for Cussing but really He was being so mean to Ned and Nancy for no reason at all He could have been really nice and tried to help Them from The beginning I'm surprised that Ned and Nancy didn't hire Another Lawyer to sue Carson for refusing to help solving this Case Carson's Attitude just made Nancy's Case so much worse He was accidentally helping Revinate by holding back any information that He has
I still have no idea who the bad guy is in this game
Like I’ve played it through a lot of times but it’s just too confusing
Are those unused audio files at the end? Very cool. Very telling in Zoe's case.
Yep, those audio files are included in the game's audio folder, but don't get used. Personally, I think Alec yelling "Is no one going to trip him?" would have been a great introduction to his character.
How do you open the files?
@@arglefumph I also find that ridiculously stupid that We are supposed to believe that Logan from Shadow at The Water's Edge is really A Spy to get information on Nancy
This game I was the most excited about and most disappointed they could have done so much more with the plot with Nancy's mom being a spy and they just didn't and there were a lot of unanswered questions.
“Is no one going to trip him? That’s a free pass! I’m a professional!”
An extra sin must be added for Zoe's phone lock's background already being black, but you have to color it black yourself. Maybe I wasn't paying attention, but that one thing cost me 2 hours doing that puzzle again and again XD
Alec sounds like Shrek lol
Wait what? I never saw Brenda there!
This game was one of my favorites when it came out. I loved the connection to Kate.
I see "Everything Wrong With Nancy Drew" video - I give it a like!
Why wasn’t this game about finding Kate’s killer?? Surely Nancy would care at least a little bit about finding them?? Especially since all the marketing implied Kate was intimately involved in this mystery from beyond the grave. Her involvement here was minimal
92 - the silent spy thing comes from the teaser trailer; Nancy gets a phone call from Revenant in the middle of the night, telling her there are things RE Kate Drew she doesn;t know about. Cue recording of her mother talking about spy stuff, and then Revenant telling her about how they'll be in touch, etc etc, ending with "the silent spy awaits"
22:10. I WANT THESE BLOOPERS, THEY ARE GOLDEN!!!
When she said "my father?" It sounded a lot like Pamela Sue Martin, the actress who played her in the tv show
The most annoying thing is that this game had so much potential! But instead so many plot points that go nowhere and inconsistencies that half of the stuff makes no sense
149 - 150. The UHS hints website theorizes that he tied himself up and waited for Nancy to find him.
That haiku joke confused me so much. Ned says 5/7 hoping Nancy will catch on and finish it with her 5 syllables?
I loved this game! #21, @2:17, I always just assumed she took the stairs to get down.
My fav ND game of all time ♥️ got me obsessed with spies for most of my childhood (still am!) 😆
From 2022 perspective it seemed like Revenant became stronger and responsible of covid :)
This was my favorite game cause we got so much backstory and I loved it they definitely could have fixed a couple things but overall i loved this game
Sin nº1 becomes irrelevant after the conversation you have with Moira about the meaning of "silent spy"
20:54 Why is Frosty from Trail of the Twister in the background? XD
Well spotted! XD I just realised that Deidre, Alexi and I think Toni are there, can't figure out the remaining ones. Pretty cool though! Actually looking again, I'm sure that the guy with trainers in black shirt and cream trousers is Chase from TOT. :D
The gray skirt and blazer is Miwako from Shadow at The Water's Edge I believe.
Miwako! Of course! Thanks. :D:D
@@trisarahtops3129 Shadow at The Water's Edge is Terrifying but even though The Ghost is Fake it pretty much Ripoffs Ringu Ju-on The Grudge and The Fatal Frame Games
@@kimiwhoowhoos I know that it's A mystery about how Kasumi Shimizu died but Nancy was so rude to Everyone about how Kasumi died and She was extremely rude to Paw in Trail of The Twister about how Ma died You would think that She would act like She did to Joe in The Haunted Carousel about Someone sadly being dead and She acted so happy in The Curse of Blackmoor Manor about Jane's Ginny Pig being dead
172. I can still fit into the shirt I wore for picture day in first grade. If Nancy's as wispy as she looks on the new book covers, it's totally possible.
128. or maybe she disguised her voice?
She did. Her voice didn't remotely sound natural in Phantom.
@@englishatheart Even though The Silent Spy is a good Game The Phantom of Venice is A lot better
My favorite line in the game is from Bridget. If you talk to her enough she'll say '' You're in the wrong country and just to proud to admit it''.
46-51 are the biggest questions I had after I complete this game. What happened to Moira? Why kidnappers just let her go? The second huge question I had is why Frank and Joe's information was classified more the others? Were they Cathedral spies the whole time? It's not really important for plot, but I'm curious.
AsmodeiChan I remember that the Hardy Boys mentioned in Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon that they did work with an organization called ATAC (which stood for American Teens Against Crime) and they weren't allowed to talk about it with anyone else. Considering that they work with what appears to be a real secret government organization (or maybe just one that works with the government), they've probably done stuff that would warrant said classification. Out of the all of the games, I don't believe Nancy has been employed by any government agency of any kind. Her work has been purely amateur up to this point.
Oh, right. Maybe that's the case then.
4.) nancy is speaking directly from the writers perspective.
*MINOR SPOILERS FOR THIS GAME AND PHANTOM OF VENICE ALSO, INCOMING RANT*
I've already said this before and I swear here it will be the last time but I absolutely HATE this game's portrayal of Samantha Quick. I was imagining a mysterious, witty, and overall more interesting person that would pop up every now and then in future games. And of course, she'd never reveal her actual identity. Phantom was amazing with setting that up. There were so so so many possibilities for this character with future games. In fact, I could imagine a bunch of different subplots to go along with that. Or at least if this were the final reveal of the character, I'd spend more time setting it up in the previous games.
Samantha initially felt very intriguing, especially when it was hinted that she and Colin were working together. Unfortunately, when the actual "big reveal" came along in SPY, we got a complete brat. You know when people ridiculously state that they hate all millennials? To be perfectly honest, I think they imagine someone like Zoe.
Well, I could rant about million other problems I had story-wise with this game, Ag Jr's comment basically covers everything else I'd have to say... Overall, while this game wasn't necessarily the worst, for me it was one of the most disappointing.
19:58 did u really not read the letters in Ewan’s hideout? Kate’s alive
You*
@@englishatheart Unless I'm Wrong I think that Kate Drew is dead how sad
The image in your intro should be your logo. It suits you. 😃
The picture at the beginning is Nancy's. Ewan didn't include it with the letter
The code is the price of haggis because HER Interactive loves trolling the players.
This game is one of my favorite in series, but it could show and explain much more than it did.

Got short term sorry lol
So sad we will never receive any of Nancy Drew games anymore 🥶
So who is the bad guy in this game
This is my favourite game
It's a weird coincidence you upload this on my mom's birthday. She passed about 4 years ago.
#1 got me😂😂😂😂
Izzy Narnia same LMFAOOO
19:27. Technically, this could be that package that was intercepted.
10:03 Zoe breaks character
92. I think Nancy is referring to the message she got on her phone in the trailer for the game - definitely a bit of a leap in logic though!
6:59. YESSS! TOTALLY YESS!!
I still have no idea what’s going on in this game. I’ve played it like 12 times but I’m still so confused.
Where did you get those ending outtakes? I can't find them in the regular game even if I turn the bonus edition on in the dev code.
#171 always makes me mad, jeez ewan it's a private letter
8:40
I did NOT know that.
I always assumed Zoe was a spy in conjunction with the US govt, an international entity?
So is everyone the bad guy?
Not to get too heavy but someone tried to manipulate me over my late father and he also sent me a picture of him to prove I could trust him with shifty business lol
The ending was funny! Lol
10:11 Nancy is real lucky today wasn't trash pick-up.
If Zoe catches you in her room, you die. But if you meet her outside, she's perfectly aware of you multiple visits and pretty chill about it. Nancy even has the audacity to protest when she takes back the deck stolen from Zoe's hidden safe.
Then Zoe claims that the formula of a biological weapon belongs to the American government. Insert your conspiracy theory here haha
Several hours into the game Nancy keeps asking everyone what's Cathedral, what's Revenant, what's Colony and "what's this formula everyone is talking about"? and is shocked to learn that her mom was a spy when she heards about it, like, the third time.
The bad guys can't decide what they want from Nancy - to make her solve her mom's codes or to stop her from doing so by abducting her from Moira's place and stealing her stuff.
What was wrong with ewans shirt I liked it.
Point 58 is relatable 😂
Is there a reason the livestreams to these games are being taken down? The most recent one that is, not the mega marathon ones
What pc do you play your Nancy Drew games on?
#SuperAwesome!
Because i can lol.... greatest
Where’s Hannah in all the games 😂
I do have a theory thst maybe zoe copied samantha quick as well.
40. This and the really bad accent blew her cover for me. What Scot has a book on traveling around Scotland?
Carson making fun of HIMYM almost makes the game worth it
*scottish accent* Ah, it’s me favorite game! Kate’s Theme!!!
Why is it surprising that the computer interface is bad?
ALSO WHERE ARE THE LAST COMMENTS FROM I NEVER HEARD THOSE
maybe she had more than one horse shirt...?
18-20 she's a spy, duh
5:27
I like the ending part I thought it was funny.
So... is Hannah Nancy's step-mom?
Housekeeper
when i first played silent spy i had such a big crush on zoe like wtf
This game was such a disappointment.
