Does the sidechain on that kickstart plugin sidechain from all of the other sounds in the song or did I miss where you set that up? What is the purpose of using something like that instead of using fl studio's linked controls in the mixer?

You can just put it right on the mixer track of your choice rather than linking it. Just an easier way to sidechain but you can always do it the traditional way.
