Uhm Actually, I was a day one backer. And it passed its goal shortly after. How about a stretch goal for rapid development and delivery?
i like how your suit gets nicer and nicer every episode
Um' actually you said it looks like a demigorgon, there is no race of demigorgons it is a single being that rules one of the hell planes. also the mindflayer looks nothing like the one in stranger things, but it works in a similar manner in that that mindflayers which as a race tend to work indirectly through others since they are one of the few creatures in original dnd that are psychic and not magic in nature.
After launching the Kickstarter you should look into licensing it, I bet whomever makes trivial would make great editions for different countries
um actually, you don't smoke cocaine, what are ye, squares. hehehe
Um actually a Mind Flayer in Dnd looks absolutely nothing like the Mind Flayer in stranger things. The Dnd Mind Flayer is a bipedal creature with an octopus head, the stranger things Mind Flayer is a colossal shadow monster, and when it took a physical shape it was a hulking mass of flesh with just a mouth.
Was screaming this at my screen the entire time.
@@DarthPoyner Like bruh the Mind Flayer looks more like the Demogorgan than the Mind Flayer looks like the Mind Flayer, and in fact the Mind Flayer looks more like the Demogorgan than the Demogorgan looks like the Demogorgan.
dnd mindflayer is just spooky zoidberg change my mind
@@jesuschrist9677 You're out of line but you're right
Thats fair, in DnD they were always bipedal, unlike their many minions or associated creatures who were shapeless masses such as the mutant sludge or ropers.
Should've ended the Um Actually game AD with Brennan saying "GET IN THE KICKSTARTER!"
6:50 Don't forget that in the Warhammer 40K universe, painting your spaceship red makes it go faster because Orks believe that red things go fast.
3 times faster just like Char's Zaku
And yellow is “more shooty” and purple is “da sneakiest”
Only in the ork gestalt field, painting it red, without enough orks to support it, has no effect.
That’s hilarious
@@oxylepy2 I was given to understand that there is no 'outside' the Ork Gestalt Field while still in the Milky Way, just levels of concentration, e.g. some have theorized that The Emperor is partially sustained by Ork Belief in the "Humies' top nob" as a concept across the whole species, much like Loyalist Humanity supports the Emperor with their prayer and non-Psyker but still Psychic emendations?? or something like that?
"from Boku no hero to Boku no pico, nerds are passionate about a lot of things..."
And a lot of it is arguably illegal. Welcome to bleep bloop.
Nooo. So cursed 😂
He is too powerful..
Please stop 😂😂😂
Hey! No!
Mike Trapp is so good at the salesman voice. That kingdom in the sky bit is wonderful. When I look at trap I just see a man I can trust. I would let him sell me a timeshare
When the question was read, I did successfully recognize "Richard Feynman" as the physicist. However, I falsely thought it still worked because: I heard that a villain in a Stephen King series is supposed to be H.P. Lovecraft's Nyarlathotep. And Lovecraft took inspiration for Nyarlathotep from a famous physicist of his day, Nicola Tesla. So it made sense that King might do the same.
same. I totally expected King to put Feynman in his book. Like that shining question on another episode where he puts himself in the overlook hotel for some reason.
If I recall correctly, Nyarlathotep is Flagg.
Same. I still would've tried it though just because I'd have been like well King does put real things in but I don't remember Feynman being one of them.
Remember that Tesla had that "mad scientist" touch at the very end of his life, when he said he had built a weapon capable of "vaporizing" airplanes and tanks (or something along these lines.)
On the other hand, Feynman was pretty much a jolly guy as you all can see in the videos all over CZcams.
@@marxmeesterlijk He was in the Overlook Hotel because he based the hotel on a real location that he stayed in.
Um actually, there’s a Lakitu companion in Paper Mario 64 who you technically get to play as while fighting and use his special skill during world wandering
Hmm, does it count if it has a name other than Lakitu? 🤔
I wouldn't say you play AS him, just that you can give him commands. And he probably doesn't count anyway, since he's a specific, named character from the Lakitu species, rather than being just a generic Lakitu.
Love the kinship that forms between 3 players who don't know most of the questions. The sheer joy of the whole couch at 21:00
Loved Nick's enthusiasm about the orks, he's clearly a true fan
As a Weird Al fan, and an old person, seeing that chase scene the first time in the theater was amazing. I was going to say I felt like a kid in a candy store, but I was 14 and probably eating candy.
Um actually, you don't have to hit Robotnik in the gooch, you can hit him there, you can hit him above his spiky arms (especially when he crouches), and I'm fairly certain you can hit him from behind as well.
I'm sure this was recorded ages ago, but still.
had to check if someone else used to bounce off his man titties as well. you can hit him underneath ( though he'll try to squash you ) and i think his back was not really an option, but not positive.
Um, Actually, Lakitu is first controllable in Super Mario 64, as he is shown in the opening sequence to be holding the camera that is filming Mario. Thus, when you adjust the camera, you're moving Lakitu and not Mario
@@PacMonster0 You control the camera. The camera is Lakitu, ergo, you control Lakitu. Just because it was put in as handwaving doesn't mean it's not canon. That's kinda what the whole show is about
@@PacMonster0 You directly control him. So yes, you're playing as Mario + Lakitu for the entire game.
Unless directly controlling a character doesn't count as playing as them. That's a pretty hard argument to win imho.
@@PacMonster0 Lol, nope. That's not how it works. You're hilarious
@@TuberTugger it sounds like you are technically correct, which especially for this kind of game, is the best kind of correct.
@@PacMonster0 Dude, why are you so angry about this? The question didn't say "playable" at all, and whether or not being a cameraman is fun is really up to interpretation. In the vast majority of games with a controllable camera, it's not assigned to a character, so this is a special case. I'd say it's fair to say any character you control is at least partially being played. They may not be the primary character, but you're still "playing" as them
Trapp: "Circle the weak points of these video game bosses"
Me: circles the entire photo. Then drops pen
Um Actually, although Kraid’s eyes are not his weak point, shooting them forces Kraid to open his mouth. So basically they’re almost right.
so if you had to break an enemies shield to damage them would you consider the shield a weak point
@@imabossDJI’d say that’s more akin to shooting the shield generator to bring down the shield
Um actually Richard Feynman is pronounced "Fineman" (faɪnmən - "aɪ" pronouced "i" as in tide)
I thought this too ... Google provides a pronunciation guide which wiki disagrees with. So maybe this is a contentious topic
It's funny, because if you go back he pronounced it when he's actually reading the question, but not anytime after that.
Yeah, that drove me nuts! XD
Thank you.
is that not how they were saying it??
Um, Actually... Randall Flagg is not his real name. "Randall Flagg" is just one of his many alias, but in the Dark Tower series, his real name is *Walter Padick* . He is also not a "great unknowable evil", he is a powerful sorcerer who serves a Great Unknowable Evil.
I mean, he's also a quasi-immortal part-demon (or maybe full demon, later on), which I think is probably a more important characteristic than "sorcerer".
Suggestion for a question:
"In Warhammer 40K, the orks are moving fungi who can make anything they believe real. For example, they believe the colour red makes things faster and blue makes weapons stronger, and those things thus are since they believe it."
Um, actually Orks believe that the color blue is lucky.
Um Actually, we still need a theme park episode with Rocco Botte, Jenny Nicholson, and Kevin Perjurer or just Grant
I would pay good money to see Jenny Nicholson in one of these!
I would commit violence in the name of getting Jenny on this show
I absolutely lost it at "this looks like some kind of colonoscopy. I'm gonna go with these various polyps"
"The polyps!"
That Lakitrapp in the thumbnail is some real nightmare fuel.
Is Brennan included in the Home Game?
if not, GET IN THE COMMENTS!!
16:55 Um, Actually, Trapp uses "pick up your trash" as an example of a musical number PSA about climate change. This is still a good thing to do, but it's part of corporations' PR campaigns that emphasized the actions of individuals and consumers to distract from the fact that these huge companies are the ones to blame and systemic change is necessary
I like to imagine he knew that and intentionally chose it to imply that blocking out the sun would be the kind of thing a big corp might decide to do to appear as if they're doing their part as well, while really doing more harm than good with such a shortsighted solution and the continued waste maximization they practice
Um, actually, what's really to blame is boats. The 15 largest ships in the world pump out as much CO2 as all the world's cars combined.
@@thewanderingmistnull2451 No argument from me if you're talking about cruise ships, they're polluting sludge barges and petri dishes in the best of times. As far as I'm concerned, cruise industries could have died off when the pandemic started. For cargo ships though, aren't they a super efficient way to move large volumes and masses of cargo? I've heard good things. I would settle for regulation, electrification, incorporation of wind power, or efficiency gains to improve those. Cruise ships can choke though
I saw dragon age and couldn't resist.
It got me too
I still love the fact that because orks believe The Red Ones Go Faster! There are in game rules for it. An orc vehicle painted red gets another inch of movement.
Un, Actually, this is the title of the episode from 4 weeks ago.
Indeed it is. Someone messed up when uploading this.
Um, actually, it's not "a" demogorgon. It's *the* Demogorgon, as in one Demon Lord, not a kind of demon.
Um, Actually, the Stranger Things monster is called *the* Demogorgon, but the Demon Lord is named Demogorgon, so there is no "the" when referring to the Prince of Demons. No points for you, sir.
@@scaevola Um, actually, if you will note my bolding of the word "the", I think it's clear I meant it in the way one might say "Wayne Brady? *THE* Wayne Brady?!"
@@cerickNY Um, actually, that makes no sense and no one talks like that 😆 /j
Except they do tho? “The one, the only, [name here]”?
People saying “the” with emphasis before a name is normal, to imply they mean a specific famous one vs just someone with the name
@@tigamaki1345 Haha wow that's really cool I was making a joke.
Yes for some Dragon Age questions!!!
Anyone else bothered by the mispronunciation of richard feynman? I wouldn't have known it if he pronounced his name normally.
Bothered me for a second, but its a pedantic thing to get hung up on (although considering the point of the game)
@@adnandlala But they only hear the question, they don't see it so it was pretty hard to get that one.
What do you mean? He pronounced it correctly when he asked the question
More by the mispronunciation of Tolkien.
The title includes Dresden Files but there were no Dresden questions.
I'm sorry you didn't say Umm Actually
Um, Actually. In outlander Claire travels back and forth a couple times. She travels back to the 1700s from 1946. She then travels forward back to I believe 1948 or 49 And then in the '60s she ends up traveling back to Jamie
Also another Character travels to the even earlier 1700s in the 60s
No, Outlander ends with her still back in the 18th century on her first trip, having travelled to France with Jamie. The events you describe occur in the sequel novels.
@@marenq4138 while the other character is back in time, her actual travel is not in the book, just her being there.
@@journeylady yeah, I thought it was about the show and all time travel that was relevant to the story, not just about what was shown in the book, which I have yet to read.
Um, actually this title is wrong. There was no question on Dresden, Catan or Fallout
the real title is "Stephen King, Warhammer 40,000, Dragon Age"
Um, actually, in the Mario Kart games, he also lifts racers back on the track when they fall off, such as on Rainbow Road.
Um, actually, you shoot Kraid in the eyes in order to force open his vulnerable mouth; he doesn't open it voluntarily, so I would give full credit for eyes + mouth.
I'm pretty sure he does open it from time to time, when he roars. You can shoot him in the eyes to force a roar, but he'll still do it naturally.
Fun fact: “Dare to be Stupid” wasn’t the only time Weird Al was associated with the Transformers. Decades later, he continued his association with the Junkions by voicing the role of Wreck-Gar in _Transformers Animated_ .
Um actually, not all ork tech is the result of psychic shenanigans. Specialized orks called mekboyz have instinctual knowledge of engineering and are able to create machinery that functions in the conventional sense.
I'm pretty sure mekboys are still powering things by Wahhhh and warp power. Sure, they wield spanners but lets me honest, Gorkanauts aren't in any way conventionally controlled. And Mekboys also fire the most WAAHHH weapon in the greenskin arsenal, the Shokk attack gun. You'll never convince me that the shokk attack gun uses actual technology. That thing is straight up orcy nonsense diving deep into the warp.
This is true! The orks manifesting tech through a psychic phenomenon (the Gestalt field) was an Ad Mech myth! In fact the Old Ones who created the Orks genetically embedded a fundamental knowledge of how things work. However the Gestalt field (the collective psychic energy of the Orks) works more like a lubrication allowing their tech to work slightly better.
@@deadphoenix8085 came here to say exactly this!
All Ork tech reloes on the Waagh field.
There is no actualy technology that would allow their stuff to work internally.
Most Ork guns have no internal mechanisms to fire bullets, yet they somehow work.
Even the mekboy stuff only makes sense so far in, thet slapped stuff together thatd roughly make the result they do, but theres still no actualy reason for the tech to work
Um actually, Ashley is right. The whole 'orks make it work' thing has become a bit of a meme, but they do know how to make *some* stuff. The engineering know-how encoding into them lets them build some quite sophisticated technology. But, at the same time, they don't know how a lot of this works. Between that and the Waagh field they are able to make *some* things work which shouldn't. But if everything they did worked because they believed in it, they would never run out of ammo, every pistol would fire mini nukes, and ork energy fields would never fail.
The Waagh basically lets them bodge some thing together. They can't just write 'Rokkit Ship' on a cardboard box and fly it into space. They have to hammer metal into a vaguely rocket shaped lump, fill it full of engines and fuel, and TRY to make it work like a regular rocket. If they happen to have missed a step then there is a good chance it'll explode still, but there is also a chance the Waagh will let it work as intended, assuming enough orks believe it will.
Um actually the person that corrected Mike about Ash not winning any official tournament is wrong because Ash won the Alola League which is an official league recently created when he was in Alola.
That happened a month after the tweet was posted
Also, the Orange League is 100% an official League in the anime. It just doesn't exist gamewise.
Yaaaas I love seeing a Dragon Age question!
Um Actually the Outlander timeline was incredibly wrong, after the time travel shown on your diagram Clair travels to 1949, where she lives for 20 years before going back in time again to the late 1760s, after discovering Clair died in a fire Breanna and Roger both go to 1770s to try and prevent Clairs death.
1946-1743-1949-1763 (Claire’s travel)
Um actually, this title was already used in a prior episode
Brennan looks like he hasn’t slept in at least 18 days, which if true would have surpassed Randy Gardner’s 1963 record by 7 days
Um actually Randall Flagg first appeared in King's 1969 poem "The Dark Man." It wasn't until "The Stand" that his name was given.
If Lei called Han a "Nerf Herder" she's essentially calling him a cowboy.
Um actually, it’s Leia not lei
@@windowmanrr1561 Um actually... auto-correct is an unforgiving mistress XD
calling him a cowboy in a derogatory way in front of her twin brother who was a farm boy
If the cultural connotation of "cowboy" was of a crude, lower-class ruffian with no social skills, then you'd be right.
Um, actually, Lakitu also picks up the karts that drive off the course
Um Actually, Welles last film appearance was in Someone to Love which was released post-mortem, while it was produced before Transformers it was released a year afterwards, in addition his unfinished Don Quixote was edited and released in 1992, he also has an uncredited role in The Other Side of the Wind, which he co-wrote, produced and edited that was released in 2018 after 48 years of development, the film is even marketed as Welles' 'Final Film'.
Um Actually Orson Welles' last film was "Someone to Love" released posthumously in 1987.
Kudos on the visual circling of boss weak point question! I'd like to see more like that in the future.
Um Actually, you said Leia was princess of Alderaan, however Alderaan has multiple houses of nobility, so she is actually A princess of Alderaan, specifically House Organa
The Organa were the ruling house of Alderaan at this time, a daughter of one of the other houses would not be a princess she’d just be a duchess or baroness or something.
Can't believe he didn't pull the "I'll give you the point unless..." move on that warhammer 40k question.
Um, actually Orson Welles’ last film (not counting incomplete works released years later) was Someone to Love, released in 1987.
Hopefully we keep getting new episodes, it seems like myself and others are just discovering this amazing show
Um actually. Raphael is not rude, he is crude. Learned that from Collage humor.
Edit:
Donatello gets screwed
Was gonna say this myself. I learned it in the 80s and 90s from the theme tune.
That's... Debatable. There are a bunch of conflicting official sources. The cover version from "Out of the Shadows" clearly says "crude", but the DVD subtitles on the original version say "rude". Chuck Lorre has "rude" on his website, but the official Turtles site said "crude" (although they originally said "brute", so I'm not sure I trust them) and both have been used in advertising and toys.
Also, I think you meant "College". A collage is art (like a poster, as an example) made of a bunch of smaller bits of art (like photographs or drawings, or, like bits of fabric or paper). College is where you go to get a degree. A good way to remember which is which is: "A" for "art", "e" for "education".
I feel so warm seeing Chrono Trigger come up in a question. I have so much childhood nostalgia tied into that game and I revisit it often.
2:03 Uhm Actually, Liam was also correct in that the show’s mindflayer bares no physical resemblance to the D&D mindflayer. They just called it that because it had a similar mysterious origin, powers, and intent as the D&D monster.
Umm actually, one can argue that the Stranger Things "Mind Flayer" is modeled after the "Elder Brain", the final stage in the mind flayer life cycle: forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Elder_brain
Although we're probably giving much more thought to this than the Duffer brothers did.
And they only call the flower head monster a demogorgan because El used that mini to demonstrate that it’s a monster from the Upside Down.
@@fotisbaltoumas One could argue that but they’d be wrong. For two reasons beyond the only vaguely passing similarity of the tendrils.
1) That is not the reasoning that they gave in the show for calling it a mindflayer.
2) The elder brain did not enter the D&D mythos until after the timeframe of the show and edition of D&D that they used when naming the creature a mindflayer.
My guess for the Dnd modules was Quagmire! because that sounds like a Discworld novel.
The mindflayer is different I would never get the two confused
WOAH! Dude that Time Travel Map was a hard question.
No kidding-- there were three on there I knew (at least a litte), yet didn't recognize any of them at the time. I'm still super disappointed that I didn't recognize Chrono Trigger...
11:26 I love this question for the correction
I love how there was a spontaneous and completely earnest "Oh, actually..." at 27:48 about TMNT
Um actually, Randall Flagg first appeared in the poem "The Dark Man" written while Stephen King was in college and published in 1969, though he's never named, I believe. The Stand was published 9 years later, in 1978.
Um, actually this episode is named the same as an episode that aired a month ago, and none of those topics came up during the game.

I got so dang hyped when I heard Richard Feynman, also I remember the pronunciation using "Feynman was a fine man"
YESS I've been waiting for an Outlander crunch time! kinda disappointed they didnt include the later books though
Just read anout the kickstarter. Just ordered the deluxe edition. Very excited.
Nerfs ARE from Alderaan, it's said in the New Essential Guide to Alien Species
The second one in the Time Crunch shiny question I *really* wanted it to be the New Breed professional wrestling tag team, but then I remembered they came from 2002 and traveled back to 1986.
Um Actually this episode is called Stephen King,
Warhammer 40000, Dragon Age on the official Wiki
I get irrationally satisfied when I know an answer that no one gets. It happens so rarely, but when it does...watch out!
I got the RF one, because I haven't read any of the books containing RF, and Richard Feynman was the only name that sounded familiar to me.
Um, Actually, Lakitu does more than just retrieve balls, communicate information and referee the games. He also has that space in Mario Party where you can pay him to steal a star! That's *kinda* fun!
Um actually, it isn't "a Demogorgon" in D&D, there's only one Demogorgon, he's a demon prince.
Um actually, the statement says "battling a demon known as Demogorgon", which is correct, according to your own attempt at a correction.
Um Actually, the Chrono Trigger timeline is 65,000,000 BC, 12,000 BC, 600 AD, 1000 AD, 1999 AD, 2300 AD, and The End Of Time. Though technically you can only get to The End of Time through a Time Gate, and not the Epoch ship later in the game.
If I remember correctly, they were not fighting the demi gorgon, it had just been announced/revealed they they had to end the session before they could fight it, because it was late.
Um actually…they started to fight it, Will chose to throw a fireball rather than run, but his dice roll went wild and they had to search for the dice. It ended up being too low to save them from the Demogorgon, which Will admitted to Finn before they left his house. So they HAD started to fight it
Idk when this was recorded but Um actually Lakitu also appears in Mario Odyssey and is seen fishing, which some might argue is a form of fun
This episode came out last September on college humor
Um actually everyone knows that fishing is the least fun activity ever
I want a full length episode theme'd around Dungeons and Dragons
Um actually, in Super Mario 64 Lakitu is not an enemy, just a reporter filming Mario's quest through the castle.
Lakitu with a mustache is Walakitu, the new villain!
Thank you i was thinking of that exact same thing lol. I would be shocked if nintendo doesn't eventually make that character (although lakitu is arguably evil to neutral annoying more often than not so maybe there needs to be a good version)
Um, actually: traveling back in time in Prince of Persia is variable as far as length of time travelled goes. There is a portion of the HUD dedicated to telling you how much time you can go back, and it varies between roughly a tenth of a second and about ten seconds.
Oh hey! I would’ve gotten one question right and that’s the ‘dare to be stupid’ one only because I ADORE that song and I remembered that song was in the film somewhere >:D
Ummm actually, there are 13 tribes in the reboot, the show starts with the 12 tribes setting out from Caprica and the the 13th tribe in the lore spread out from Earth and settled on Kobold long ago. The 12 are retracing the journey of the 13th tribe from Caprica to Earth. It wasn't until they arrived on Earth and learned that the 13th tribe were actually the cylons, the mortal enemy of the 12. Also towards the end of the series the 12 stopped referring to to themselves by their ancient tribe names, but by the ships they have been travelling on.

Um actually, Lakitu appears in Mario 64 as the camera man as well.
Um, Actually, Orson Welles’s final film was Someone to Love released in 1987. Transformers was 1986, a year after his death
Um actually (i’m not sure about other mariokarts) but in Mariokart for the WII lakitu retrieves you and your car if you fall off the map aswell as displaying information cards
Um Actually, Orson Wells' last film was not Transformers, he appears in Someone To Love that was released in 1987
Um Actually, you never travel to 1,200 BC in Chrono Trigger. You do travel to 12,000 BC. Also, The End of Time isn't at the "end" of the timeline, it is a convergence of all points in time. Pretty sure Balthazar explains this the first time you visit The End of Time. Also I have no idea what the "whatever you want" line is supposed to be. If that's the Epoch, it's not really a point in time - it's a vehicle.
I always thought it was a callback to the dark tower character, I had no idea his appearance in the stand was his first, that's crazy
I really loved that turtles talk at the end my only complaint with the show is that some of the banter seems to be cut short or a lot of jokes go unheard or unsaid
Um Actually, Transformers movie wasn't Orson Welles last film of his career.
While it was the last film released whilst he was alive, he was also in Someone ot Love which was filmed after his transformers recording and released after his death.
There's also The Otherside of the Wind which was released in 2018 (but filming started in the 70's)
That dude in the middle reminds me so much of Mat Pat from film theory/game theory. Whom you by the way should have on for an episode!
Im so proud to have read both The Dark Tower and my physics major texts
