I have a hard cover Mopar Performance book with a 1970 copyright date. It has a photograph of a prototype 1971 383 Six Pack engine, but the engine wasn't certified in time for the 1971 model year. Chrysler then planned a 1972 400 Six Pack engine, but when it was decided that it couldn't have a high compression ratio, it was scratched from production. The 1972 400 did get the Thermoquad carb, which was bigger than any 383 carb.

I have a Green 72 Charger with a 400.....great car...... Hard to justify 2k for a 6 pack setup......but....maybe !!!!!

There's a video on a Mopar barn find channel of a yellow 1972 Road Runner with a real 440+6 and he even shows the VIN which shows the V and I'm not talking about the restored one in the Brothers collection but unfortunately the car wasn't exactly taken legally so most likely the car will return to the dirt eventually since the current owner cant exactly do anything with it without the law involved and he refuses to sell it which I don't blame him because it will most likely cause legal trouble.

LOL The title is a typo. He mentions it as completed at end while credits roll...43:00 These old web clips are a mess. There are only 3 known '72 440 6 barrels, 1 GTX and 2 Chargers; I doubt Worm man has seen any of those. They were planned for '72 but scrapped when the insurance/ compression downsize started in '72 but those 3 slipped by. 👀
