    Night of the Living Dead is so underrated. It is claustrophobic horror and strategic. It's streamlined which makes it easiest to play. Though the difficulty is also easy, you can make it harder which is in the rulebook. It is easiest to teach other people. It is good that they got rid of the noise mechanic. If you want to play a quick game during halloween.. Night of the Living Dead is the go to game

    Undead or Alive was an immediate back for me as a first timer in Zombicide. I personally enjoy the western theme and all the cool characters I’ve seen at one point or another in movies. So far I’m enjoying all the stretch goals and daily duel enemies they’re adding to the campaign. Hopefully it’s gonna be a great game!

    •  Před 3 lety +2

      It's a formula that is pretty consistent so as long as they don't go too far away from it I think it's pretty safe bet overall. It's more at this point whether or not you like the formula in the first place. Some do and some don't. And that's perfectly ok.

The only one I thought about backing was the "night of the living dead" because I like the movie 😉

  • @Hendrycks
    @Hendrycks Před 3 lety +1

    I haven't played Zombicide yet but could you not just play without hitting friends, and without doors no problem, or is it more complex than that? I really want Black Plague but am hearing it's the 2nd oldest ruleset and might not be the best option atm. I'm also worried of paying a ton for Black Plague and then they do a Black Plague 2.0 too

    •  Před 3 lety +1

      you could totally house rule it however you want. some people are rule sticklers though, but if it takes away from your enjoyment and doesn’t break the game, I saw try it out and see! the most important part for me is the fun factor.

  • @Wolf37f
    @Wolf37f Před 3 lety +4

    Wish you would have talked about the original zombicide a bit more because that is the game that has the most models and expansions and differences in enemy types then even the later additions with the exception of 2.0. 2.0 is just a revamp of that original game where they're modernizing the rules but the rest of the setting is essentially the same. For me my favorite is the original zombicide and it's expansions because it's what kicked off this whole board game craze. However I have kickstarted every single zombicide game since season 2 of the original launch.

    Have em all
    Classic Z-cide, 3 KS campaigns and 5 full box sets (Zombicide, Prison Outbreak, Toxic city Mall, Angry Neighbors, Rue Morgue) First edition of the games with the same rules mostly.
    Fantasy Z-cide 2 KS's Black Plague and Wulfberg Kicker box on season 1. Green Hordes, Friends Foes Kicker box, No rest for the wicked Kicker box season 2 (the kicker boxes needed the core game to play). Had a lot more room to go but they cut it short. Was in on both KS's
    Sci Fi Z-cide single KS. Invader (core) Black ops (kicker box) and Darkside. Not a real favorite as it is aliens rather then Zombies but uses the same engine. Also in on this KS.
    Classic reboot. New core game and 2 extras, Washington ZC( campaign game) and Fort Hendrix (Kicker Box) Again in on it.
    Now Undead or alive and a steampunk kicker box (again needs the core game to play) Again got in.
    All are fun though we prefer the fantasy version followed by the classic one. The Sci Fi versions OK but just does not feel right. Hoping the 2nd ed game brings things up to date for the Classic version and adds even more to the mix. Have High hopes for the western version though it seems they have streamlined things with no doors or noise tokens.
    Highly suggest getting in on KS's as the purchase price on E-bay for all the KS exclusives is way up there. The games are very playable out of the core box though. There are also many add on boxes you can get in some stores (Birds, dogs, rats, extra walkers, artist packs with new characters, ect)

    Knew of Zombicide in its first iteration but I never got into it because my first every Kickstarter Boardgame was a Zombie game called Zpocalypse and didn't want to double dip into 2 similar themed games on my new venture of Backing Boardgames. Took a long hiatus from KS after just Backing non-boardgame projects but came back for some other project at the same time that Zombicide Invader's project was live and was immediately drawn into it...ever since then I've been a big fan of CMON's games. I backed Invader, HATE, Cthulhu Death May Die, Bloodborne, Zombicide 2nd Edition and Ankh. I'm considering late pledging for Undead or Alive but still a bit unsure.
    Went over the games of Invader and 2nd Edition and I was immediately taken with them, esp after looking over the old rules and I MUCH prefer the fixes they've done. That said, I do like the aesthics of Green Horde and had considered waayyyy back to pick it up via CMON's Time Travel KS for leftover stock but decided against it to get 2nd Edition and other projects.
    I do wish that Invader had a humongous figure like the Dragon of Green Horde and kinda wish the more thematic and less real world based Zombicide games would offer the Ultimate Boss-like figure.

    Just actually opened the base set for this game. My first Zombiecide. Zombies, the wild west, a Gatlin gun, plus trains, for me a no brainer. The fantasy and Warhammeresque one are interesting, but the first one didn't appeal to me. Basically because it was modern, and I've already got that in the Last Night on Earth series. Got the game at a super low price and I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for one or two expansions in the near future. Very Interesting video. I did buy mine retail (79.99 preorder) but honestly at some point it would be nice if these companies just developed into actual manufacturing companies. Hasbro just tossed HeroScape for trying to produce to few units at to high a price point. And they're literally the company with the power to produce 100k smaller units and sell them in stores for 49.99. It's as if they don't have confidence in something they started. While I've never played Zombiecide yet, very soon, I knew for quite some time that it was a pretty big deal in the game world. Got to go and learn how to shoot zombies up now. Happy Holidays! Oh, I'm 57, so the western history, as you said, is possibly more known to me. And not the TV stuff lol. Also, I hadn't realized the survivors' names yet, although I heard there doesn't appear to be a drifter. And only one character has a full duster, which is kind of a let down. Hopefully in the expansions.

      I think you're out of luck. Looks like per one of the most recent updates from the kickstarter campaign that the pledge manager closed on Nov 1. But not to worry, because plenty of people sell it after the receive it, and if you're patient enough you can usually get it for the same price as they paid because there are plenty of people just looking to recoup costs.

    I picked Invader because of the theme. I had played black plague and BP was my first love, and despite looooving the necromancer mechanic, I loathed the luck based scramble for wild fire and the player elimination. Invader was most like "Aliens" the movie and had better mechanics overall. I know i could've house ruled BP but I'm a stickler for rules. Now, im torn between Night of the Living Dead and 2nd edition. I'm leaning toward classic 2nd edition modern look, but the movie theme may bring more people to the table. idk any thoughts?

      Zombicide is by far the most streamlined and least overhead of these types of games but if you’re looking for something more typical fantasy theme there are other similar options if zombies don’t appeal like Sword & Sorcery, Middara, or even more complicated. One option might be picking up a game called Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion which you can get for $30-40 even at Target which is a really good semi closer interpretation of the theme you’re looking for similar to Demeo.

      @@alimoorad5998 green horde is a more recent base game. Black plague are human zombies; green horde are orc zombies. So if you like orcs more than humans in your fantasy game, go for GH. Plus, there is a trebuchet equipment and a "horde" mechanic (group of zombies coming in on the board when triggered) in green horde. I think the orc zombies also hit for more damage than those in black plague. Overall, green horde offers more challenges, I think. Watch green horde reviews for more changes they made.
