I have a Vietnamese friend of whom I have a lot of respect for who immigrated to New Zealand with his family. At that time he had two sisters and one brother. His mum had married again to a New Zealander before moving here. He was very creative as well as artistic and related to me how he was educated and because of that art was his primary subject during his up bringing. His artistry was very similar to what I see here in your video. He also did portraits, two of which he painted for me as well as several other paintings. He has returned to Vietnam and is currently retired, he would be in his late sixties. Thank you so much for sharing your videos, it almost makes me tear up when I remember my friend. I travelled through Viet Nam in 2008. I saw amazing craftsmanship. I never stay in the tourist sections of countries when I travel I love to see how the people live and work. The Vietnamese are hard working friendly people I wish I could take a more extended visit, but I had to leave after 30 days if I remember correctly. I had 2 months to travel through China Viet Nam, Thailand and Cambodia and I never met an unhelpful person.
Vietnam always welcomes you to visit again!

As an importer or should i say a prior importer of Porcelain vases from China i always appriciated the hand work that goes into the decoration of each piece.. This Vietnamese mfg does a fantastic job at the mfg and decorating of each vase.. well done... L.A Rob

Having made a vase, about 9” high when at art school a very long time ago, I can’t imagine making one bigger than me. Not to mention the intricate decoration shown.

All the artwork is free hand with no two the same. What absolute mastery they have achieved is nothing short of amazing. I am constantly at a loss for words with so many artisans in so many fields and in so many countries quietly producing such beauty for the sences to behold.
