My dad was always a reserved and quiet man, he never looked for trouble or retaliated; he wasn’t very affectionate with me or my brothers but we understood it, he grew up in a different era. I was bullied during middle school , my dad’s first advice was “tell a teacher, if he keeps on bullying you, kick his ass. That way when you get suspended I’ll vouch for you and said I told you to do that”. Long story short, I could never work up the guts to punch this guy back, one day my dad picks me up from school and he notices something is wrong; I tell him I want to change schools because I can’t take this anymore. The next day my dad picked me up, he parked the car near school and told me to point out my bully, I did, we waited for him to get picked up and my dad followed the car. He cuts them up in traffic, slams on the brakes and gets out of the car. He approached this kids window, told him his full name, his grade, and that if he ever fucked with me again he would stomp him. The kid’s mom tried to yell at my dad and threatened to call the cops, he said “call your husband, that way this little shit can see what will happen to him for being a bully”. My dad got back it car and we never spoke of that again, the kid stopped bullying me alongside everyone in school because the rumor spread like wildfire and I have never felt so good. My old man never said I love you but I know you did dad, I still miss you.

Sad to say this but I lost a lot of respect for him that day. He couldn’t even talk to him like an adult, man to man.

I was picked on by boys and girls both. I was short and skinny and my parents didn’t care to make sure I had clothes that looked decent. After physical bullying of 3 vs 1 in school I became very angry, for the next 3 years of my life I kept fighting against myself in my head that I was
eating shit during every meal. While eating tomato or chilli sauce I fought against myself in my head that I was eating menstrual period blood.
During EVERY SINGLE SECOND of those 3 years I also kept fighting against myself in my head that the bullies were sodomizing me and my family members.
Even going to other schools didn't resolve this mental torture because the anger was still there.
As a result I severely couldn't concentrate during exams and classes.
I am still having self esteem issues 14 years on from the incident. I went to army and didn't do some admin work due to fighting myself in my head
and army people thought I was lazy and thus bullied me as well. This is why I have zero sympathies and zero tolerance for bullies. I am 34 years old
and don't even have a first girlfriend, partly sabotaged due to bullying, masturbating to myself everyday like a loser. Eventually I could not see anyway out anymore and went to visit 2 prostitutes in December 2023. There was no miracle ending. I have also missed out on $500,000++ of opportunity cost in earnings from jobs.
I went to the police and they said they could do nothing about it, so I went to teach the bullies a lesson by cyberbullying/harassing them online, the bullies were so "strong" until
they went to call the police LOL, but like I mentioned above, I have zero regrets and I don't see it as something wrong because I went to the police and they
said they could do nothing about it, plus because my context was teaching them a lesson :)
When I finally cried after 3 years due to constantly fighting against myself in my head it was an outbreak of tears across my whole face, it was so bad
until my mucus reached my forehead. Please spread on this comment so that people can know how serious the aftermath of bullying is and have lesser cases
      of bullying in the future.

Growing up I was bullied all throughout grade school up till 8th. No one every defended me not teachers or parents, I was alone and felt alone. During my 8th grade year I transferred to a new school an hour away from my old one. The reason was due to the Bully’s chasing me home, everything was fine for the first year and half but soon some of the bully’s found out where I was going to school at again they couldn’t do nothing there cuz the teachers cared for me this time. But one of them had an older brother who was a drunk and a punk, he took and follow my moms car to our house one day to find out where we lived. The next morning I woke up to get ready to go to school but when I opened the front door their was my bully’s, the beat me till I couldn’t resist then dragged me to my stepdad shop and broke my hand. I later woke up to my stepdad being put into a police car, he gave two of them sever concussions with permanent brain damage and the older one that could drive he broke both his arms and then fractured his spine so that he could never enjoy life again. My stepdad is my greatest hero his not perfect but that act right their proved that he would protect me at all costs.

People who have never been viciously bullied like you have will never understand what it’s like. Many people have been teased by other people with names here and there, sure, but not perpetually physically tormented. I know the kind of bullying you’re talking about - the kind of bullying that can’t be ignored, appeased or reasoned with. The kind that can only be met with either complete literal escape or an eye for an eye in response.
I had 2 guys chasing me with their bikes and riding over the backs of my heels walking home from school. No provocation on my part, no retaliation or anger on theirs - just pure cruelty as they laughed doing it while I ran in quiet tears and had to hide in peoples yards to not be followed home. Bruising my back from kicking me in the chair while I was sitting and drawing alone during indoor recess. Sitting behind me in class poking me in the back of the neck with a sharpened pencil point just to make me flinch. Kicking me in the shins and running away laughing and I’d go home with bruises all over. Wiping sweat from the top of a shaved head across my face during gym class while laughing. Cornering me in the locker room and trying to take my clothes from me with multiple guys telling me that if I throw a punch they’ll all say I started it and jump me.
I have punched about 7 people in the face in my life and all in self defense. And though I haven’t been in a fight in about 20 years now, the one thing being bullied like that so young taught me is what people are truly capable of. I believe it has given me situational awareness and so much less naïveté that has saved me more than a few times in the years since.
I hope you and your family are doing well wherever you and they may be, and I hope you know that you never deserved anything that happened to you. Take care.

He had big welps..I was 16...I said mom take me there...No she says, Matt no! I said take me there or I'm driving over there with friends and not gonna be pretty. So she takes me..(the "kid" was older than I was btw) and I knock on the door..luckly the kid answers and I said hey man I'm John's brother and he wanted to apologize for something he said.. so the bully came out and I immediately started beating him like there's no tomorrow. Kid had braces so u know how that goes...I beat him for a cool 5 min until my little brother was begging me to stop. He had a string of blood from his mouth to concrete as I drag him to my brothers feet..."kiss them!" I screamed , as that's happening the dad comes out with a baseball bat and was chasing me around vehicles...when I got back home police showed up and arrested me. They looked at my little brother and his wounds and said there was nothing they could do that it would be a "counter charge" that they should have been called first...fast forward 15 years and that bully was a cop that got fired and been divorced twice with domestic abuse charges...so yeah it was worth it😂

My dad...who was not Avery big guy.... was raised in an orphanage, WWII veteran who boxed in the army. He dealt with bullies very simply.....punch them in the nose and always get in the first punch! And show no fear! Regrettably my shy and introverted personality prevented from doing that.....I definitely believe I inherited that from my mom. Looking back on it now I would of fought those bullies tooth and nail to prevent them from stealing my life. eating shit during every meal.

Parents who openly tell their children not to retaliate when they’re being bullied are part of the problem.

Fucking hell, if I weren't such a pussy when I was a kid I would've beaten them but you know what? Noone should fucking take it, retaliate until that bully gets so Canadian that he says sorry for even looking at you.

Last till the 8th grade for me, then I listened to a band called Rancid, and punk rock became my talisman. 9th grade bullying lasted about 15 seconds. The jail sentence for assault was two weeks. Totally worth it, 10/10 would break a bottle over that assholes head again. The scars he carried throughout high school was my mark of pride.

A good punch when needed is the best remedy for bullies. But you have to have the guts to take a few.......I did it, my daughter did it, my grandson did it.

My son was having trouble with a bully in grade school. I asked a few questions and realized the bullies were wimps who had to travel in a pack. I said call him out because the wimp wouldn't do anything. A couple weeks later I had to call the school, I was worried about the bullies.

Am a small dude and always got picked on at the beginning of school year or when attending a new one. My step dad (a rehabilitated ex-convict) gave me the best antibully advise: a shark will only eat the fish that don't bite back. Even if you only manage to chew an ear or poke an eye, a bully will pick an easy target 9/10 times. Don't teach a child to report a bully, teach a child to fight back.
