- Wanted to share with you the story of James Howells, the man who threw away 8,000 bitcoin in a landfill in Newport, South Wales, UK. It's a pretty mad story and he was interviewed recently on a mainstream media radio station BBC Radio 2 with Vanessa Feltz. Hope you enjoy!

WHAT A LEGEND! I heard this story before, but never had the chance to hear the full story from James' own voice! I love his answers. I hope he finds it and use the bitcoin for his projects.
Same here. ☹️
That interview was tough, he had a message he wanted to share, she wanted an anecdote.
Maybe there could have been some better communication before hand, but damn, she really wanted to downplay and laugh at his downfall.
Came across your channel after you were on Hard Money... Keep up the good work. The battle against privilege and complacency in the UK is a worthy one to fight.
rooting for him. it will benefit the people of newport more than they know
Great video Mike
Great Video
Great vid as always mike.
Thanks Jacob!
Great Video Mike, love the UK perspective on BTC. If only The bitcoin collective running the UK conference in Edinburgh took the same approach. Love the content good luck with the channel
Hey, what do you mean exactly??
@@MikeStillUK i love your content speaking to people on the street, commenting on where the UK media are in relation to BTC shows just how much education is required. A UK conference I think would benefit from speakers with a UK perspective James Howells an OG would be a great speaker for example also, seeking out UK business's accepting bitcoin, pro BTC government speakers from Isle of Man and take the emphasis away from what BTC does in the US to how it works in the UK.
We need to broaden our scope here and your videos are definitely opening that narrative
He seems like an excellent guy, I wish him well. Vanessa Feltz is a typical mindless BBC drone so this is exactly what you'd expect from her.
Good luck to him, but it seems like a real long shot. Hard drives certainly aren't designed to survive being underground for years.
I dunno, he seems pretty optimistic! Could be a 50/50, not sure. A story to keep an eye on!
What do you think he should do with them when he recovers them??
Hide from the government haha
Move it to a cold card and HODL 💎🙌
Do you think they will ever be found?
5% chance
It's not lost - he just needs permission to retrieve it
Mike, if you havent seen it already, watch 'This Giant Beast That Is The Global Economy' Its hosted by Kal Penn. The episode about crypto has a good interview with him.
Like a needle in a haystack. Pretty sure there's a video on CZcams of him meeting the council with his AI expert and team.
I have my doubts.. I think those BTC are gone for good
If they are, makes the rest worth more 🤓
The plural of bitcoin is bytecoins
bitscoin
I suggest you listen to the bitbuybit podcast where max interviews dragon bitcoin as he met James and talks about his experience dealing with the council
7:12 At the same time (2009) Satoshi mined 1.000.000 Bitcoin, he mined 8.000 Bitcoin. He, Satoshi and three other guys were the first five Bitcoin miners in the world. Why doesn't he ask Satoshi or the three other guys for help ?
I think he is making a living by searching for his lost coins ,it’s a modern eldorado story .
😂😂😂
Vanessa Feltz wanted a segregated society to exclude the unvxed 🥴 .. However her comments here were even dumber!! At some point Newport council themselves will be joining in to find those ‘bitcoins’! I hope when he said he will put it towards ‘crypto’ education he meant to say Bitcoin 🤔
The council won't talk to James anymore
