The Congress also settled Greece's brorders, near Epirus.. Turkey was to give Macedonia autonomy under a independent governor. Turkey never honoured this committment. Three decades later, Greece took control of Macedonia, even though it entered the Balkan wars late and subsequently occupied it and retained it as its own territory.
