At that price point, that seems to good! Especially with the Midi function and the transposing capabilities. I remember a couple years ago when I worked at a music store, really cruddy Roland's were, like $700, and that's without a stand or anything. This looks super nice!
you can click almost any other button to stop demo playback. "record", "playback", "start/stop" buttons all do this (or turn the piano off & on). If it persists after an on/off, I would guess your demo button is malfunctioning somehow--you could try pushing on the side of the plastic button to dislodge it from a pressed state if it's not level with the other buttons

Terrible sound. Nowhere near a real piano sound. Yes, it's cheap but the sound is awful and I get they're not fully weighted keys. Plastic rubbish....
