Susan Roces is the most beautiful star of Philippine movie, and always will be. Fernando Poe Jr. was the King of Philippine Movie and always will be. This video is dedicated to their romance. Dahil sa Iyo was written by Mike Velarde in 1938 and is the most enduring and endearing Filipino love song to this day. This song is also the favorite of Imelda Marcos, and this version was sung by the world famous trio The Lettermen at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in the 70's as a dedication to her.

Normal lang na "weird" ang pronounciation ng Lettermen, una never silang nagsalita ng tagalog at mga American singers kasi sila. Nung panahon na yun kasi, tradition na ng mga sikat na singers kapag nag-tour or concert sila sa abroad kagaya ng Asia na kumanta sila ng popular local song, dagdag kilig at pride and ramdam ng pinoy kapag narinig nila na nag effort kumanta ng tagalog ang foreign singer/s.
This was during the early Lettermen's heyday where harmony pop songs are performed. Maganda ang blending ng mga boses nila at parang hinehele sa pagtulog ang nakikinig sa mga kanta nila. Exceptional rendition. Different, but good different.

Came here because of the book 'History of the Filipino People' by Teodoro Agoncillo. This song was sang by demonstrators after singing the national anthem - which were altered the lyrics to 'Dollars sa Iyo.' The late US President Lyndon B. Johnson which was inside the US Embassy - where the demonstration was held outside. The police - paused from beating up the protesters to stood up firmly because of the national anthem - resumed the beatings when they lost temper because of the altered lyrics which meant to ridicule their ranks.
