      I noticed you were grooving to this song, welcome, as Freddie Mercury would say, Joey darling, you are now a member of Queen. Queen had a knack of writing songs that people couldn't just sit still and listen to, they made music that would get the fans involved.

We didn't have google or CZcams. We didn't have 100 music channels playing videos all day. You first heard the song on the radio. You then got to see what the artist looked like, 1. If you went to the record store and bought the album and they were on the album cover, 2. They appeared on TV eventually. Mind you, there was only a handful of channels on TV back then. 3. You saw their picture in a magazine. Basically it could be weeks to months between you hearing the song on the radio and actually seeing what the artist looked like.

      I think if you want to introduce someone to Queen, you start with Bohemian Rhapsody (which is basically the culmination of all of their songs, and most Non-Queen fans haven’t heard it). Then Another One Bites the Dust (which is great, and since it is more common, they might have heard it). THEN We Will Rock You (Which is a song 99% of people have heard, so the new fan can realize how many hits Queen has made). At this point, they’d probably go searching for more. But it is hard to recommend just one Queen song.

      You might like Freddie more than Mick, but there's no way you can say that what Freddie did with the 16 years he was performing live with Queen in anyway compares to what Mick has done in the 55 years he's been around. 16 years versus 55 years. You do the math. And, if 3 & 1/2 times as many years doesn't have you being more reasonable, then watch what Mick and the Stones were doing in 2003, WHEN MICK WAS 60 YEARS OLD, 12 years after Freddie was cold in the ground:
      czcams.com/video/DRot9IjNSso/video.html
      Or, what Mick and the Stones were doing in '78: czcams.com/video/bj8lRssjN48/video.html
      Or, what Mick and the Stones were doing in 2013 when MICK WAS 70 YEARS OLD: czcams.com/video/MHlxGg0QIqE/video.html
      Well, I'm sure Freddie gave a good performance when he and Queen played in Russia, and Cuba, and China. What? Freddie never performed in these places? Hmmm.
      Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones have been seen in person by more people than anyone else in the history of mankind!

    Released back in 1980, that was the second no.1 by Queen in the US. Written by the bass player John Deacon. First they didnt want to release it as a single but Michael Jackson pushed them to do it because he loved that song. It is the most selling single by Queen with approximately 10millions units sold worldwide.

      Gareth Thomas Bohemian Rhapsody had two different singles. In 1975 with the B-Side „I‘m in love with my car“ and in 1991/92 as a double A-Side with „These are the days“. So Bo Rhap is probably the most sold song but not single.

    I've heard of Queen 25 years ago but I listened to hip hop growing up. I never knew they sung this song until about a week ago when Queen just kept popping up on my recommended list. Must be bc Bohemian Rhapsody movie coming in November.
    I actually thought for the last 20 years that "Another one bites the dust" was a late 70's early 80's hiphop song.

    • @danielmaurer8654
      @danielmaurer8654 Před 5 lety +2

      That is because it is a late 70s disco funk song that Deacon used for the bassline's main structure, the song was Good Times by Chic released in the summer of 1979. Queen gave no credit to Chic, and the press thought that Chic ripped Queen off, sadly it was the reverse. Good Times is heavily sampled in Hip Hop, one of the earliest Hip Hop hits Rappers Delight used the bassline and drums as a breakbeat.
