      You don't know what you're saying. You probably don't even know her. You're just going by her looks and manners. And she may be a good woman like you say, but you're just assuming mostly likely because you crave for someone you project upon her.

      @Crude Wildfire When someone says that "you're a good woman" without knowing anything about her, that is no compliment about her skills; it's just nonsense talk. Lol

    Strange that in the States only pets can have healthy food...

      That statement is so true. Our animals and pets are more health than us. We have food for all types ofanimals, we have dog food, cat food, fish pelet, etc. All these food are carefully put together to ensure that the animal gets all their nutritional requirements. But we humans are not given the same care. check out some videos on DR wallach. He is a very good DR

    I must respectfully disagree about the buttermilk mam. Keep that in the fridge a few days and it thickens up then starts to sour just like the store bought stuff. That buttermilk on real cornbread.(not birthday cake cornbread) is an acquired taste that once you get you can't shake . You start to crave it after a bit. And thanks so much for the video. I never make this stuff but I do have a source I get it from. Thank you.

    How long did you let the milk sit to separate like that and did you let the cream sit at room temperature,, some people do but I like sweet butter.

    I like the way it says pet use only. Is that because the government believes everyone is going to die if its not pasteurised? I have never seen that before. May I ask what is butter milk. Dont say its the milk form the butter :-)

    Hi, thanks for your video. I have two questions. How does vitamin E help to preserve the butter? Also, how do you feed the buttermilk to the chickens? Thanks!

    • @gracieelizabethwilliams
      @gracieelizabethwilliams  Před 8 lety +1

      +Christia Hall Thanks for your comment! The vitamin E is a natural preservative and helps make it last longer. For the chickens, we just poured the buttermilk into a bucket that they can drink out of!

    I missed how you start the whole process. All i know is that you already had some cream there? What kind of cream? Completely lost here.

      I skim it off of our raw milk. It is not pasteurized or homogenized. So it naturally separates and you can see the line.

    How long do you leave the milk on the counter for the cream to separate to the top?

    • @gracieelizabethwilliams
      @gracieelizabethwilliams  Před 6 lety +3

      Right after we milk the cow we strain the milk then put it in the freezer to chill for two and a half hours. That will make the milk taste much better and by then the cream has separated to the top!

    I am having troubles making the butter using this method. I skim off the cream from raw milk and use my stand alone mixer using the wire whisk. I have had success in the past but limited and it takes maybe 15+ min. One it took 3 min I think and I have let it whisk for 30 min and give up. I have use it straight from the frig (cold) and I have let it warm to room temp.And advise? Anyone?

    • @gracieelizabethwilliams
      @gracieelizabethwilliams  Před 8 lety +1

      +Jalapeno Bandito sometimes it takes at least a half hour for us. This sounds weird, but it depends on how soon the cow had her calf. Right after our cow has her calf the butter makes so much faster and as time passes, it takes longer and longer. For some reason. lol We just let ours run for as long as it takes which is like I said at least half an hour. I hope this helps!

    How long does the butter usually last?

    • @gracieelizabethwilliams
      @gracieelizabethwilliams  Před 9 lety +2

      We keep our butter in the freezer so it will last longer. In the freezer, we usually try to use it up in two to three weeks so it won't taste freezer burnt. :D Thank you for commenting!

      Pull it out of the freezer and put in the fridge for a day and it will slowly thaw out to be soft. Or microwave it for a few seconds!

      @SorryButYouAreWrong Of course, most laws governing food items are there to protect the government's bottom line and nothing more!

    • @jaytfist
      @jaytfist Před 3 lety

      @SorryButYouAreWrong Some state like New York give permission to dairies to sell their raw milk. We have one on Long Island that was granted this permission after their farm and milking facility had been inspected. They can only sell the milk the day it was milked. They can not sell it to a store to be sold off premises. The rest that doesn't sell goes to be pasteurized and sold in stores and restaurants.
