I made a menu that uses like items in each meal. For example I am having breakfast burritos that use tortillas, eggs, bacon and salsa. For snack chips and salsa. For dinner walking tacos. Next morning reuse leftover taco ingredients in campfire frittata. Baked potatoes with dinner roll over into fried potatoes the next morning. Also, prepare some foods ahead of time like cutting vegs, shredding any cheese or veg. I love hobos the first night. They're hamburger, shredded potatoes, onion slices and carrots shredded and wrapped in foil and placed on campfire. You can make ahead and cook at the site after setup
Whoa! Great camping video thanks so much. Lots of really handy tips efficiently delivered with an easy style. Wish we”d seen this years ago! Thanks for prepping g and caring for your family.
I have to say that as your video went on I really learned an amazing amount of knowledge from your experience. I knew we have a key thing in common when you mentioned Princess Auto. Thanks Rob.
As a Brit.... cooking beans in the can is going to be a game changer. Might even start doing that at home! Jokes aside this is a great vid on the advice and hacks for camping.
Powdered egg doesn't sound so great, but if you use them to make scrambled eggs, I challenge you to know that it isn't fresh eggs. I honestly couldn't tell the difference, and no need to refridgerate! I really enjoy having an electric ice maker in my RV, I have a Yeti power pack as well as a Champion inverter generator. Can charge the Yeti at home before leaving, or charge it with the portable solar panels. Both are handy depending upon the length of the trip. I really like the idea of having a stainless steel woodstove for winter camping and cooking, they are compact as well as practical.
LOL! Nope, not appealing at all but it's a great idea if you are going backwoods camping or for canoe trips! Sounds like you have quite the set up! Cheers! Rob
I would precook the bacon, burgers, hotdogs and eggs. Just heat up when you are ready to eat. Also peel the paper labels off the cans you will be heating the contents in before putting them on the Barbie. Food prep on a camping trip is the pits! Also cleanup is a drag. Use disposable ; it’s OK..really. Just pack out what you pack in.
I do all the cooking when we camp so It's not a big deal for me. Washing dishes sucks but I don't want to use disposable especially when you are out "connecting" with nature. Thanks for your comment! Cheers! Rob
There is a heated discussion in the overlanding community about disposable vs. washable, but most people lost their point in the process. You can always go with burnable and biodegradable as a happy midway as you do not need to accumulate and pack-out many things, you have the good source of burnable energy and you are saved from the task of washing the dishes... 😁
I saw this come up on my recommendations and my phone froze when I clicked. For some reason I just knew it was gonna be great so I remembered your name to type in when I restarted my phone.
FYI, in reference to cooking in the can, be sure that the can isn’t lined with BPA. Otherwise, you’re melting that BPA lining and eating it along with your food. Not safe.
I don't go anywhere with out my wipes, yes great tips!! I also used ziploc bags for my coffee, sugar, salt, etc, I cook 2 meals and freeze it, save time just heat it and wala your dinner is ready.
Hi Rob, just found this video, s I don't know if you'll see this comment. Here it is anyway: Take old tp rolls and pack them with dryer lint. Use these to help start your fires, they work great! Liked the hacks, thanks
What’s the brand name and size of the red top totes you use for the from of the trailer? I’m getting a Webber q100 today and need one that fits it and is water proof
I always want to print a list off .. then im like "nahhhh I can use my phone" but... i always forget stuff 😂 maybe I will actually print one off. I just feel like my lists get so detailed and it drives me nuts. Someone help🤣
I love camping but getting everyone else ready (wife and 4 kids) is difficult so I try to make it as organized and painless as possible. I think my best time was one day we decided to go camping on a whim and I had everything ready, loaded and everyone in the car in 2 hours. I hope this gave you some helpful ideas! Happy Camping! Rob
Dude. You are like the ultimate dad. Pretty much every other thought was for your kids. I admire you and think your video rocked.
LOL! Thanks man! Hopefully one day they will appreciate it!
Once the kids are set dad can relax. It's a good strategy 😄
I've seen a TON of camping "hack" videos this is by far the best. We are organizing and finally using totes this year and I'm so excited.
You're welcome! Thanks for your comment! Happy Camping!!!

I took one look at this man's pegboard, and instantly I knew he knows what he's talking about.

I crack my eggs into a screw top pitcher like the Rubbermaid mixer-mate and pre-scramble them, give em a shake at the camp site and use as needed.
Another great idea!
So cute. I love your giggle-laugh.

The water bottle, egg idea is brilliant!
Not my idea but I thought it was genius!
Cool things to think about! A recommendation may be to chose the thicker baby wipes, I find the regular ones too thin to be very effective? 🖖🏻👍🏻🙏🏻😘
Yes the thicker ones are better!

instant coffee...he is definitely NOT a Taurus!
Any chance you can tell me what griddle that is? I have the same BBQ so I would love to know! Thanks
Oh man. It's just a cast iron frying pan. I have seen them at lots of places - Cabelas and Bass Pro shops.
I have done the eggs. Dont fill it too full. Don't shake your eggs too much until you are ready. They lose their 'Rize'.You are welcome 😊 🌹

Do flushable wipes for anything and they biodegradable
Tip for your cooler is freeze a gallon jug and put in the cooler and you don’t have the water and wet food
Yes! We use 2L pop bottles and you can drink the water as it thaws.
