This is another song my mother would use as a lullaby in my infancy. I didn’t just get “Rockabye Baby,” but tunes by Gershwin, Kern, and Porter. 😢 What a privilege! Kids today don’t get these treasures.
Now you mention it, I can see that this song makes a wonderful lullaby. Your mother gave you a lovely early intruduction to the Great American Songbook.
Yeah. I guess we didn't know it was show and tell time. Thanks for your input, pee-paw
I just found this rendition of the classic song. I am blown away by how simple the interpretation is, yet how complex and melodious the phrasing and movement under the melody. Just beautiful, and a great learning recording.
Hi Alan. Thanks for your thoughtful comment. Since you enjoyed it, you might like to browse some of my other arrangements of classic songs: czcams.com/users/rupertaustinvideos
@@rupertaustin Back on July 24, 2011, a television station in Osaka (ABC, channel 6) played the song on a loop between noon and shortly before midnight on its analog signal. Japan’s communications industry required television stations across the country to display information captions on their analog signals after the cessation of regular programming at noon that day.
Rupert,
Echoing others' comments, these arrangements by you are lovely to listen to, and your pdfs are very much appreciated. Thank you very much. Dave

THANK YOU SO MUCH ! :)
omg you are the angel
Printed the sheet music 3weeks ago, confidently can play all of the right hand! Now to tackle the left!
Good to hear you are enjoying working on this. And thanks for the purchase - appreciate it!
One of my favorite Gershwin songs. I noticed that the transcription isn’t quite true to what is being played in a few spots. But it’s a great interpretation. 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for listening!
Boa noite! vc tem os PDFs? são arranjos maravilhosos.
This is a beautiful version that I am excited to start learning. Thank you for posting this here! I was wondering if you can do transcriptions from other CZcams videos? I have been looking for someone who is able to transcribe by ear and I would like to request something. Thank you so much for replying and I hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you for your kind comments. I have indeed done transcriptions by ear (mostly of Kenny Barron) but I find the process incredibly tedious, frustrating and time-consuming, so I very rarely do it. You have probably guessed that I am not volunteering to take up your challenge!
@@rupertaustin Are you perhaps acquainted with another artist, Gil Rosas?
Thank you!! Your arrangements have helped me so much!! LOVE them. Can you consider "Lover," by Rodgers & Hart? It was my signature song from my late mom, if you'd have time.
Glad you have enjoyed them. I have have put "Lover" on my to-do list.
Hey I just subscribed to you, you're so generous, I really appreciate your time and effort to transcribe them. Ill donate to you in the future when I start earning my own money haha , please keep making more.
Glad you are enjoying my arrangements.
Art Tatum tocando isso hein?
Very nice! Can I use it to record a vocal cover? Thanks.
Thank you. Yes, go ahead. Perhaps just give me a credit.

Beautiful, but its shown not clear😢
Thanks for listening!
So I am just learning about music theory, scales and chords, and I am not gonna lie but seeing things such as B♭9sus4 or B13♭9 scares me as fuck. I already have enough trouble with major and minor chords and their inversions lmao
I too found those chord symbols, and their associated meaning, rather formidable when I first studied jazz harmony. After a while, as familiarity grew, I found they became much easier to digest.
