Alright since I'm getting sick of seeing people upset about snakes being placed in those drawers and all that, I'll just give a little bit of an explanation.
Snakes don't feel uncomfortable in small spaces, it's actually the opposite. They love small spaces - they feel safe, warm, all that. One of snake's predators are birds like Eagles that can swoop down and just grab them before flying off, so small cramped spaces they can hide in make them feel safe. There's a reason why you see the snakes in this video coiling up and hiding off into a corner. They DON'T NEED a large space or habitat or whatever, and even if you give them that, they won't use the space. I've kept a ball python as a pet, gave him a pretty tank and fountains and blah, he rarely moves around. He sleeps, eats, that's about it.
Snakes don't think the way humans do either. WE wouldn't like to stay in a container our whole life, but can we apply the same to snakes and say they do? No. They're snakes, they were born to prefer smaller cramped spaces. That's all. They also only think about survival, like 'can I eat that? What if that eats me?' so they'd obviously be content living in a safe habitat like how this guy provides them with, with daily food and all that!
So relax, this guy has been working with snakes for a long while and knows what he's doing. If he's really doing something wrong here, the place he works at with the snakes would've gotten shut down. Don't worry, the snakes are fine. We breed dogs to take their puppies home to become a part of our family as well, and no one really says anything bad about that (except for puppymills, those are bad). We make chickens lay eggs and we harvest their eggs for food too.
Not a snake expert though, I guess it's up to y'all to believe what you want. Maybe there's something I don't know about that all of you in the comments do.

those eggs were duds, no babies will hatch from them. Even if they were fertile he did such a terrible job getting them from the mom so many rolled around and would have been dead.

Oh Brian...I only wish I had found your videos and things years ago! There was a time in there I could have really beared down and made a badly needed change in my life. Not sure what, but it would have had to do with animals. I did have children in 1986 and 1990 so I was also raising them and my area is not very conducive to exotic animal husbandry. I'm just glad to see these now and see the wonderful, loving, and positive attitude that everyone has so loved you for! It's as uplifting now as it ever would have been! RIP Brian!

I'm desperately trying to convince my mother to let me get a beardie. It's not the reptile she minds, but the live insects I would need to keep to feed the beardie. Yes you can get alternatives to live insects, but nothing is as good as live ones and I would feel mean not feeding it a proper natural diet.

anika kinzett-rolfe they're normally thrown away honestly. But some other animals can eat them so they use them as feed. He says something about them in a later video.
No animal ever grew in them so they can injecT protein into them and feed other animals
You can definitely tell how happy Brian gets when he sees healthy eggs and how down he gets when he see bad eggs. You can tell this is definitely his passion. So happy for you Brian! This video is super old but 💕

I think it is absolutely amazing to see the different breedings that you have created. I have always loved snakes but have only ever seen a snake as exotic as a albino python; seeing these breeds are absolutely beautiful and amazing !

I miss having my shop but petsmart and other big name stores moved in around us and killed our business the only thing we had was our zoo and breeding and handling the exotic venomous and then my big boy died he was 17 feet and just about the most well known Burmese python within our 5 state region he changed so many peoples lives and had so many pictures with people and not just individuals a lot of times entire families about snakes we had people from everywhere coming to see Edd but I got up to go to work and went to get him up for work and he was gone my heart was so broken and it was if something just sucked the life out of me and then my hero Steve Erwin died and it was like I couldnt move and I knew it was time to pack it in and we had mountain lions cerval cats sugar gliders parrots and stuff you dont normally see and working with them was everything to me watching you is as close as I can get to that now but so sorry about Sunshine I know the pain. Please keep doing what you do because it needs to be done if we are to save our wildlife and subsequently our world and our lives because when mother nature is mad we all lose. they go out to hunt but not until miles. if they find food they eat it and go back to their home which is very dark and squeezy just how snakes like it. heck one mouse can last them a week so most of their life was spent inside a tight dark hole which is way smaller compared to this tubs
Most snakes prefer smaller spaces, because large open spaces stress them out.

I love those tree pythons; they are by far one of the best looking snakes I have seen. I do believe one of the most under rated cool looking snakes are japanese rate snakes - they are really unique :). Yeah you absolutely cannot rock a moustache Lol!. Also, glad lucy is doing good!

Brian Barczyk I tried the coco husk from reptile basics and it was HORRIBLE! Soooo dusty , that's probably why instructions state to completely soak in water... I live in AR so I can't handle any extra humidity

I've had ophidiophobia (fear of snakes) since i was a kid its gotten better with age...but when i seen those blood pythons lunge like that for no reason it made me jump....i don't know i just don't think i'll ever be able to trust a snake because of the unpredictability of them.
It might ease you to know that under normal circumstances their are several species of snakes , such as the Ball Python for instance that are actually very timid and would much rather ball up and hide then try any bite you.
They are very predictable animals, you just need to learn their body language. Baby snakes pretty much always try to bite anything that moves, but they are usually too small to even draw blood, let alone cause any kind of pain or discomfort, so there's nothing to be afraid of. And with large snakes, they will give you signals through their posture before they actually strike. A snake that's about to bite will tense up, curl its neck into an s-shape and sort of "fixate" on the thing it's about to strike at. Once you tune into their bodily cues, it's fairly easy to predict how they will behave. They never bite for no reason, it's either because they mistake your hand for food (if you don't wash it after handling rodents), or as a form of self-defence. The blood python lunged at Brian because it saw a huge, threatening figure looming over its hideout and was trying to protect itself. Besides, blood pythons do tend to be rather ill-tempered, so watching them is probably not a good idea if you're already afraid of snakes :) However, there are plenty of mellow species that will almost never bite, such as hognose snakes or ball pythons. A lot of it is about how often a snake is handled and wether or not it's used to being touched/handled by people or not. And snake bites themselves aren't actually as bad as people make them out to be. They're not a lot worse than a papercut, you just disinfect it, put some Band-Aid on, and you're good to go. It's a whole different story with huge species like Lucy, of course, or with venomous snakes :), but the majority of snakes kept as pets are harmless to humans, even if they do bite. The negative hype around snakes has unfortunately been blown out of proportion by people who do not know much about them.

Snapper eggs that have orange or purple dots are better than with green dots
