@@SyphroPlays yea kind of a souls like arpg been playing that a lot!! still early access but there's plenty of meat on the bone to keep you busy also a bunch of build diversity to mess around with
@@SyphroPlays it depends on the attack, with the piper for example 2 defenses would almost fill the bar with no damage. Some attacks deal more stagger damage than others it would seem

In the original story Beowulf is a young strong warrior that made a legend for himself by monsters one on one, with his final kill being a dragon which he had some help before dying to the poison from the dragon's bite. In this game he's an old warrior past his prime carrying a young drake which he hates. Maybe the answer is in his memoir.

I believe the gargoyles turned to stone die if you fill the stagger bar, not from damage
Yes, but stagger is bigger when you deal more damage, I'm pretty sure
