Yea, since in the comic GOG tends to be C list characters. In the MCU they came out of (k)nowhere with fun characters, fantastic chemistry, and low expectations. These underdogs totally knock it out of the park, and their characters are now iconic.
Funnily enough, when I first saw the trailer for GOTG I laughed at how dumb it would be and refused to watch it. I won free tickets to an advanced screening so I went just cos it was free. And man, I was humbled. I like it more than any other MCU film (other than maybe Winter Soldier.) Sometimes it's nice to be wrong. ☺️

I love how the Guardians series has introduced classic rock to a new generation. Don't stop here, kids. There's a lot of great music from the 60's, 70's 80's and the 90's.
Iron man and thor did it for me after blade but adding the gaurdians was huge. Xmen and dead pool are automatic wins but the gaurdians after all that was a blackjack.

Yet, what makes the familiar song so emotional, is the remastery of it with sound effects, echoes, slowed lyrics, and synthesizers. The familiar song is transformed into a more powerful, emotional version. Thank you for sharing.

That's why this movie series is powerful. We see them grow closer as they fight evil together. Their bond creates emotional strength. It is not a superhero movie where a super power or combination thereof defeatd some villain. These characters care for each other immensely. So powerful. I have grown to love Guardians.
This movie was simply amazing. Anyone who doesn’t think so doesn’t know good film making. I have been disappointed with a lot of films. But this film blew me away. I laughed I cried and felt every emotion possible. Perfect send off film. Another closing to another amazing chapter of life.

Yeah, it’s apparent that the quality of marvel movies are on a massive decline fast. This movie unfortunately is not a return to form for mcu, it is a holdover from a bygone era when marvel was at the top. If it is the last good marvel movie, then I’ll accept it. Finally these young kids are going to get to hear a real guy who can sing rock and roll. Graham bonnet is a cool guy and can still sing at his age and this is one of the greatest rock songs ever written. Maybe they'll find out there's more to the '70s and '80s music than Queen.
this song changed from a breakup song to one about losing those you love, just like the movie. still working up the courage to rewatch it but one part always is so hard on my heart.

Quill's heartache over losing his love (and dealing with an alternate version of her that he knows isn't 'his' version), Rocket's loss in the past and how it shaped him as a father (Groot) and his family (the Guardians), as well as Nebula as well and her role as their reluctant 'mom' (shes more settled in the role at the end) as well as your actual family (Peter and Mantis being siblings and the aftermath of her revealing this over christmas), and those who seek a loving home because their family isn't built on love - Adam Warlock, who was not liking how his mother made him do things he wasnt comfortable with, especially for the fact that mentally and emotionally he was still quite the child, and him discovering that he was destined to help not oppress, as well as Drax in the fact that he is no longer alone and now has purpose because he is now a 'dad' to the orphans from Kylos (he was a dad who lost his family and spurred his violent ways of vengeance).
In the comics Evolutionary had someone close to him killed by poachers. In Thor 166 or 167. That why he starts making his own species and counter earth. Eventually Warlock kills him and he comes back
There's just something about the music at 1:50 - 2:22 that is just so swelling and emotional, like coming to the end of the road with you life long friends and family. It reminds me of highschool graduation and everyone leaving for summer not knowing whether or not we'll ever see each other again. The score really got to me at 2:05 I was 9 years old when the first trailer for gotg came out, now Iam 18 getting ready for college... Jeez does time fly, all the memories just come flooding back in it kinda hurts 😔 Thank you James Gunn you mad scientis!, This trilogy is now my favourite MCU trilogy, the music and visuals are like no other, it's incredible. This is the magic of James Gunn. It’s very rare (and very difficult) to create soundtracks for movies that are not only iconic and recognizable, but bring outs the emotions that the Director is trying to convey in a particular scene, James Gunn has proven to be the master of taking tired old music tracks re-recording, or remastering them, and giving them new life with an eternal bond to his films. I will never be able to listen to any version of “ hooked on a feeling” without thinking of the first guardians movie. I am unbelievably excited to hear how he blends music into the DCU movies .

I cried this entire movie rockets backstory was so depressing losing his only friends.
