ONE LIFE tells the true story of Sir Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton, a young London broker who, in the months leading up to World War II, rescued 669 children from the Nazis. Nicky visited Prague in December 1938 and found families who had fled the rise of the Nazis in Germany and Austria, living in desperate conditions with little or no shelter and food, and under threat of Nazi invasion. He immediately realised it was a race against time. How many children could he and the team rescue before the borders closed?
Fifty years later, it’s 1988 and Nicky lives haunted by the fate of the children he wasn’t able to bring to safety in England; always blaming himself for not doing more. It’s not until a live BBC television show, ‘That’s Life’, surprises him by introducing him to some surviving children - now adults - that he finally begins to come to terms with the guilt and grief he had carried for five decades.
One Life will be released on the 1st of January, 2024.

Johnny is such a great actor, he truly merges with the character, gets almost unrecognizable

An incredible film. I saw it yesterday and it moved me so much, really touched my heart. Maybe our current government should see this film and think long and hard about what they are doing right now. This has to be the film of the year, well deserving of BAFTA's and an Oscar nomination or three, and we're only a week into 2024...

Incredible film. It’s worth remembering how Jew hatred has gone away. It’s sad that the actor thinks the same is happening now by commenting on the home secretary’s stance and comparing it to what happened with Jewish refugees. This story was about bringing over children whereas what we’re seeing now is young men without women and children who come for economic reasons. Many come from a culture that would support the genocide of Jews….The UK needs to wake up, the good decent, as they said in the movie ‘ordinary’ British are being taken advantage of. As someone who came legally as an immigrant and experienced the decency of the British public it pains to see this happen. Priti Patel’s parents came as genuine refugees from Uganda, that’s why she wishes to protect this country but the media and press paint her as a villain and distort facts.
