the Evolutionary History of the Heart

  • The Heart is an Old Organ, belonging to our evolutionary past. But like, how'd it get here? It's a lot different than the one we have in our current Chestal cavities, so what happened? Who's fault was it? I blame Ronald Reagan, he's the one who reunified the Republican party, which is now placing pressure on non-human hearts to conform. That's why I never vote, they've already decided the outcome beforehand.

As a singular-celled organism, I can do nothing but laugh at the measures you Metazoans go to just to get energy to live. Maybe if you were able to capture sunlight to make your own carbohydrates, you wouldn't need a goofy red circle to squeeze your juices around! LMFO!

A youtuber who loves both evolution of languages and evolution of critters? I have found my spirit animal. One thing I wish you elaborated more on is the transition from the one-circuit system of fish to the dual-circuit system of tetrapods. How the gas exchange area moved to a separate circuit is one thing I still don't understand, topologically.

Very nice explanation (tho I usually prefer even more detailed - and longer videos), funny editing, good commentary.. Keep up the good work

Commenting because this video has much less views and comments than the videos I usually watch and I think maybe it'll help the algorithm. I quite liked this video. I like the idea of learning where certain organs/traits evolved from rather than the organism as a whole, definitely unique idea for a video and taught me plenty I didn't know before!

the variation and evolution of the heart captivated me when i first learned about it in high school biology class. there’s something magical about the natural development of a mechanical system to achieve a chemical process.

More like the Evolutionary Histories of the Hears (referring to Xavier-Neto et al, 2010).
Great drawings! The weak point may be the sound quality (just increasing the levels would already help)

Meanwhile bats: ignore the limitations of the tidal breathing system and fly anyway

as an alien i am amused with how you still havent invented automated breathing, lungs have been a thing of the past since 2567 😂. we now teleport oxigen to each and every cell, much more efficient. ZLORPIAN MASTER RACE

Tempted to dislike this vid for making me breathe manually, but I'm feeling merciful because it was otherwise very entertaining and educational
