I’ve seen Freddie many times over the years - Sheffield, Manchester, Brixton, Southall, Streatham. But. August 13th 2023 Brixton London was the most overwhelmingly emotional. So many people were moved to tears because of his performance whilst still recovering from his debilitating stroke. He was phenomenal. When he stood up to sing “I Was Born A Winner” was literally a SHOWSTOPPER!! I thought the roof was going to blow off!! Big up ‘Di Captain’.. Love always!! 👨🏿✈️🚢 ⚓️❤️💛💚 🇯🇲

I was very fortunate to see Freddie McGregor live in 1999 he was brilliant as he was the undercard for sir John Holt royal philharmonic concerts and both of them were simply brilliant a part from the first 10 minutes of John Holt focals was a little bit shaky but perfectly fine once they was warmed up . One of the biggest joys of my life was seeing Freddie with Sly and Robbie from the front row in my beautiful San Diego around 1990. During the show from 3 meters away I sang every song and flashed him a big, "You're No.1 Freddie!" and he pointed at me and flashed that big beautiful smile of his and kept jamming. I was in heaven!!! God bless The Captain. I hope he stays with us for many more years. He is my No.1! 🤩
I felt so heartwarming watching a hospitalized Freddie McGregor in a wheelchair in great spirits after his health scare a couple of months ago on YTUBE... Blessed be the day I bought my very first F. McGregor release All In The Same Boat in '87 (Hungry belly Pickney, All in the same boat , Push come to shove...Great songs..!)
