You forgot to mention that you can flip the smart keyboard around and use the iPad as a tablet. The magic keyboard, on the other hand, removes the tablet nature of the iPad

You cou easily detach the iPad from the Magic Keyboard and use it as a tablet. Which is way handier then having the keys on the back plus the weight.
@@Foxb0t I just picked up a used 3rd gen ipad pro today and find that it is so slippery that I need a case. So removing it all the time is a disaster waiting to happen. Do you know a case I could attach to the back AND still usse the Magic keyboard?
@@dhservers well there are even cases that work with the magic keyboard. yes they are kinda expensive but still a good option.
For me, as someone who uses the iPad heavily for graphic design and photoediting the fact that you can fold the Smart Keyboard Folio to the back and have it out of your way without removing it from the iPad is really useful. Also in Germany the Magic Keyboard 11“ sells for 369€. So the decision wasn‘t really hard 😅

you have to choose it based on your needs, if you are self-employed or a worker who needs good typing then you better get the magic keyboard but know that this will no longer allow you to flip your Ipad over and use it as a tablet. If on the other hand you don't want to sacrifice this but still want to have a decent typing you can get the smart keyboard but with this one however you might experience some discomfort with the tilt being adjustable only in 2 positions. However on the site other similar versions of keyboards have been added, go look at them
I am right now typing from the keyboard folio and I can say that it is really nice. Actually you can flip the folio and use it as an iPad. This keyboard actually replaced my 2011 MacBook Air and I am really happy with it. I can confirm that I totally understand when I have clicked the key. It is so light and it totally feels so thin and nice. I don’t miss the trackpad, because that is an iPad. I mean I use my finger, the Apple Pencil and the buttons from the keyboard to scroll or use it. I learned the shortcuts and I don’t need a trackpad. As for the viewing angles- they are so useful and perfect for me. I LOVE THIS KEYBOARD AND MY IPAD AIR !!!
The magic keyboard is basically a laptop dock for iPad. it's not really a tablet the second it's attached to the magic keyboard.
Decided to yesterday to buy the Magic Keyboard and I think its worth it for me. I will use it a lot during my internship and also during college it will be so handy. The quality in typing is so much better than the Smartfolio.
I have the Smart Keyboard Folio and I love being able to take the keyboard off when I wanna watch a YT video or a movie. However, I do kinda want a Magic Keyboard as I did try my friend’s and it was amazing.

I just got the M2 iPad Pro last week. I couldn't decide between these two keyboard, so I bought both! I still don't know which one to keep. On the one hand, the smart folio is light and easy to carry around in my bag. On the other hand, the magic keyboard is a far better typing experience and has a trackpad. I’m thinking I will keep the magic keyboard, but I am definitely not happy about the weight. I think I will end up caving because working with this keyboard is such a joy.
I woulda recommended getting the folio and getting the 150$ track bad or the 99 mouse that way you can still have that for either 50$ less or same price as well as enjoy the weight and the fact that you can snap it back
You must never go work out at the gym! The Magic Keyboard is not heavy, i hardly feel any weight 😂
I would recommend to buy a case or bag that would protect the magic keyboard as mine is peeling off already since I carry it almost everyday at work inside a bag with a laptop

Dont get why Apple went with white and black. Space grey and silver would fit into their current design aesthetic.

As you mentioned “if you using an iPad for note taking and watching videos” all of a sudden I feel spending more than 1k on a device just to consume media is highly expensive. You shouldn’t need an iPad Pro to watch CZcams videos.

I have an air and I can honestly say that the iPad feels complete with the Magic Keyboard. It’s price is insane but if you’re using this for work purposes it should really be a consideration.
The typing experience on the cloth covered keyboard is really not that bad. I type just as fast with it then I do with macbooks.

I decided to stick with the Smart Keyboard folio because I already own a MBA. I feel like when I have to carry around my iPad, I would prefer that is more portable and lightweight. I think if you are trying to use your iPad as a Laptop/Macbook replacement, that would be a different story.

I have the magic keyboard for my ipad pro 11 inch model for 3 years now and I would say it gave a laptop feels which was a great help especially when you’re doing a lot of emails or anything that needs a lot of typing. Its still functioning uo to now the only problem is the material is not so durable as the sides are already peeling off. What is also sad is there is no trade in available for apple accessories, it would be costly for me to buy a new one to replace my current magic keyboard but its quite annoying to see the keybard peeling off. I just wish Apple will have a trade-in for accessories like the magic keyboard and enhance the product to be more sturdy and durable

Had the same thing.
Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Keyboards -> Full Keyboard Access and turn it off. This did the trick for me and I don't notice a difference in use besides that the blue borders are gone.
Just watched your video to see witch iPad folio was better I am going to keep the Magic Keyboard I’ll let you know what I think of it
The white magic keyboard for 11" ipad pro is truly hard to see lettering. The letters change color from dark to white and are tough to see on an off white key. The light coming from below is a bad combo. It took a while to realize what was going on and this is why i did not enjoy the white. The black has good contrast, on the other hand.
I got as far as the prices to make my decision.... insane pricing by Apple....thanks
This a little set up to see h’ow my typing is on the folio which is slice and I only worry if the screen scratches over time

Been had my Magic Keyboard for a year now got it for my iPad Air 4 the fact it doesn’t have any function keys on it doesn’t really bother me when I know that I am going to be out and about for a long period of time it with me just throw it my backpack and I am ready to go and it doesn’t feel all that heavy to me I hardly even know it’s there love the feel of the keys and I love the fact that he keys are backlit

The trackpad moves the iPad further enough that I might as well as use MacBook. Folio is perfect for my use case, which is mostly in bed when I don’t wanna browse on a laptop. For most other use cases, I use iPad like an iPad. But i too will prefer magic one if my use case was serious amount if typing on iPad.
Thanks for the great video.. I just got a M2 11" Pro [1st iPad since VERY 1st iPad]. I started with the Apple FOLIO keyboard for ONE reason.. Weight and SCOTTeVEST. The ONLY appeal of an iPad over my Mac is weight and portability... to be able to get by WITHOUT a briefcase, backpack etc. And, I was gifted a SCOTTeVEST a few years back and loved it because an 11" iPad FITS INSIDE in a pocket. The inside pocket trick and the 2 lb vs 3lb weight sell me on the FOLIO. That said, I later DID by the Magic iPad on Refurb sale for $170... So I have both... But whenever bringing iPad anywhere it will always be with the FOLIO. I have given up on backpacks. I also switched to shooting videos on my iPhone with a DJI Mic that I ALSO put inside a side pocket of the SCOTTeVEST - Eric ZORK Alan & Sweetie [ Professional Poets & Bed Vloggers ]

I hate how the Magic Keyboard feels dirty, I’ve tried it in the past, and it always feels gritty, and I have to wipe it off

Magic keyboard is a horrible tool. You have to take of the ipad to write on it with the pencil. Then the back of the ipad get scratched. And you can not lay the ipad flat because of the camera bump. The keyboard stays next to the ipad while writing on it. There is no way to flip the magic keyboard.
And the smart keyboard folio is not stable and has a horrible typing feeling. You can not change the angle. At least you can flip it back to write on your ipad. If I dont use the pencil for writing, I would never use an iPad at all
