    7:19 "It's real difficult to find people in this business that have what I call or David and I call "have the touch"...*man bangs sledge hammer endlessly inside of the car while someone in the background says "HOLY MOLY!"* "It's more like an art than just changing a fender or door or something like that. You've really got to have the touch and a lot of the older guys have that" *bangs some more inside of the car with a sledgehammer*
    Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

    Unique Performance had all of their 61 cars confiscated by the Farmers Branch police and Shelby pulled their license from the company. Oh, and they're being sued for changing the V.I.N. numbers on the cars so no one could ever check the history of the cars. Buyer beware!!! Please do your homework on one of these before you buy!!!! I'd hate to see someone get screwed on something they loved!!

    Eleanor has a really unique look for a Mustang. She doesn't have the more familiar tail-lights like most Mustangs I've seen, but her look is really clean with fine lines and the platinum paint with the black racing stripes is a nice touch.
    As for the movie, it was the real star of it. Although I'm not sure turbo-boosting over that traffic was the wisest idea, lol. I grant that was a stunt car, but still, I winced when it landed and took a knock, oooo.

    • @addypearce
      @addypearce Před 7 lety +1

      MJ Knight haha! Totally agree about the jump! Those tail lights are the ones that Shelby mustangs had. The ones from the Ford factory had the vertical slit type lights. Both look cool I think.

    I am sure one of these days someone will make a Mustang JR version of one of these. There is an Eleanor tribute Mustang JR from the 1973? original movie that used the early 70s Mustang and is painted yellow and black like the movie car and someone has built a 68 California special from an original gas powered 1967 Mustang Junior. But to my knowledge no one has built a Eleanore from a 67 Mustang JR Powered promotional car.

    Unique Performance was shut down a long time ago, due to some apparent shady business practices of Doug Hasty and his high-ranking associates, resulting in the company going bankrupt and a raid by the police in Farmers Branch, Texas, where UP was located.
    A new company, Revved Automotive Concepts, is taking up where Unique Performance left off, completing projects started by Unique Performance before the bankruptcy and correcting the problems UP vehicles had.

    the real Eleanor was a 73 fastback. the 67/68 fastbacks have a desire on their own. i would not cut up multiple cars to modify one original fastback to make a movie clone. this is beyond words to make a millionaire happy.

    The white Shelby in this video is a 68 not a 67. Are these Eleanor's worth anything now? I've been told they don't resell very well.

    • @crazystang69s75
      @crazystang69s75 Před 7 lety +1

      These cars are Soooooo over done and played out... there are thousands of them all over the internet the movie gone in 60 seconds made alot of people rich the (sellers) and lots poor the (buyers) . these Eleanor mustangs are way over priced for what it is a pepper grey paint job and a fibre glass $5000 dollar body kit . for the dumb amount of money people are selling these for I would rather have a used super snake or real gt500 not some rust bucket that was rotting away in some back yard before that movie came out lol you cant even daily drive or take on long road trips due to them having such low gears and so no Practicle . My 2 cents each to there own go get bent over by the car lots

    • @addypearce
      @addypearce Před 7 lety

      crazystang69 s just to let you know that you couldn't buy a super snake as there is only 1 in existence, which sold at auction for over $1,000,000. Also a original Shelby GT500, fully restored to a high standard is more expensive than these cars. Granted they are 'overpriced' when looking at part cost but you're paying for a brand to put it together for you. Shame Unique Performance had all that shady investigation and went under.

    What's the point in owning a Mustang that costs so much to build that you'd be afraid to drive it in case someone either scratches the expensive paint job or something breaks? Most start out as rust buckets in one barn, go through a complete nuts n' bolts restoration, and end up in another barn (albeit smarter) that's owned by a multi-millionaire collector where it'll be a museum piece that's never driven. Mustangs need to be driven and driven hard so get an S197 GT that has a stiffer chassis, quasi-retro styling, functioning AC, and a reliable fuel-injected engine that delivers reasonable fuel economy so you can enjoy it every day.

    These guys are no longer in business. They got busted for title swaping and taking the clients money and not delievering cars they were to suppose to provide their customers. A couple years ago a judge ordered Unique Performance to be shut down and all the equiptment and cars to the auction. Shelby in L.V. had since pulled their licence from these crooks.
