- These are the original design from Erie Tools Works that were patented in 1869, these wrench are an absolute legend of a hand tools as they have been around for over 150 years, the big difference in modern ones besides better quality steel is the fact they are 2 piece instead of 3 piece and thus are stronger then the older style.
Brings back memories my dad was a journeyman plumber he would just hit the ceiling if you even said Stillson or God forbid bring him one .There was one pipe wrench RIDGID. Good review as always thank you.

I read somewhere that Rigid in Elyria Ohio sources their pipe wrench castings/forgings from a company in Erie Pa! I wonder if it is really the Erie Tool works??? 🤔👍😁. Sweet wrenches! 👍😁👍

$12.00?!?!?!?! That would be an antique in my area and sixty dollars minimum. Swap meets in my area are selling used Harbor Freight tools for more.
Does the Vevor wrench have anything else cast into it besides "Heavy Duty"? I saw aluminum pipe wrenches at harbor freight that had "USA STD" cast into the side, and a little sticker that said made in china! The sticker will be gone in no time and there after people will assume it was made in the USA!

Evapo-rust works quite well, but soaking in white vinegar followed by a steel brush (by hand or bench grinder) will also do it. Some people love clean tools, but rust doesn't bother others, who merely add a drop of oil to the moving parts now and then.
